I can't wait for Sharknado 3: Sharkz In The Hood, to be set in Chicago of course.

For whatever reason, I thought of this when I read that:

Ah, but Chicago is by Lake Michigan, which is a freshwater lake, and thus not home to sharks.

(Sorry, but as someone who lives in the Great Lakes area, them's the facts.)

In case anyone needs to see the original so you're better able to follow the plot of the sequel, it's on in 3 minutes on Syfy.

    Amazing.

I unfortunately caught a preview-clip of The Second One on msnbc earlier today, and it featured a Mets game that's called due to the impending shark-infested storm... I suppose that's a salient point & statement concerning the recent state of affairs for the Metropolitians.

I'll wait to see the sequel until Rifftrax takes it on.

Now that's something I'd watch with genuine, non-ironic excitement.

If Vince McMahon thought he could make a buck off of it, he'd be in his backyard right now with a video camera in one hand and tossing giant stuffed gorillas at John Cena with the other.

Tunick, I'm picking a subtle, yet repetitive, vibe while you spam this thread, that you don't much care for the Sharknado franchise.

I've got, to say the least, an extremely-mixed view* about it: yeah, I know what they're trying to accomplish with these movies, and thus it's not like there's any expectations of them to be anything other than what they are, but there's something about 'em that's just too much, too silly, too poorly made. Perhaps if these had been done by another network, with much better SFX & actual C-to-B-list celebrities in the roles, then I could fully support them. First world problems of the entertainment kind. :p

*It was only because of the L.A. setting to which I gave the original Sharknado a view at all.

So, you want to see a Sharknado movie that takes itself more seriously?

Well, slightly more seriously in the visuals & acting... the inherent premise will always remain extremely ridiculous, of course; if I can enjoy schlock like Earthquake, 2012, Armageddon & Volcano, I can enjoy a better-made Sharknado. In short, get Roland Emmerich to direct one of these, damn it.:p

Armageddon is an awful movie that takes itself so damn seriously it's insufferable. I'll take a, "We know this is crap" movie over something like that any day of the week.

I am usually all for movies that feature strong winds, but Sharknado 2 was just too unbelievable for my tastes. Billy Ray Cyrus as a surgeon?o_O

I'm just bitter because, when I was beginning to suffer from heart palpitations, I consulted with Dr. Cyrus and he diagnosed my heart as being "achy-breaky." Needless to say, I sought a second opinion...

I heard the director of Sharknado and Sharknado 2 being interviewed on the radio this morning. He said at one point something to the effect of, "We never thought this would get so big. Now it's like a release of something like Avengers 2 or a new Star Wars movie."

I watched Sharknado against my will, and it is hard to describe how bad it is. It's amateur.

The fact that it knows it's bad doesn't make it any better. You may say, "That's the fun, it's so bad it's fun to laugh at," but it's not fun, it's just an appallingly badly made waste of time.

And who wants to watch a film that has no more ambition than so bad people will laugh at it?

There are plenty of good movies that mock B-movie conventions successfully, like Piranha.
