And I'm depressed, lonely, and miserable. Cheer me up?
I'm pretty sure what you meant to say was "Jean-Luc Picard was born 40 years ago today."
Happy Birthday! You've still got a ways to go before the real mid-life crisis sets in.
Depressed, lonely, and miserable? Sounds familiar. Here's a video of your namesake being heroic.
“Welcome to the back nine of life!”
Pro tip: 40-48 = Early 40’s
Happy birthday youngling .
I don't even remember my 40th birthday.
I remember mine. My family took me out for fancy-pants “artisanal” mac and cheese. My dad asked me if I had any words of wisdom to share as I looked back on four decades of life. The answer was no. No, I did not. (I don’t have any now either.)
Happy birthday, JLP. I hope things start looking up for you.
Happy birthday. Don’t let turning 40 get you down. You’re only a day older than you were yesterday.
Welcome to the club ^^
Never forget that people in their 40s are still youths, just with more experience.
9 years ago I spent my 40th with family at an amazing Mexican restaurant, which closed and now the closest one is over 10 hours away.
Anyway, cheer up:
Just woke up. Can't do anything today but hang out online. The weather's ****. It's gonna piss down any minute. Got just under 14 hours 'til it's not my birthday anymore. Who wants to shoot the **** on Discord or something?
You crazy kids with your onlines and your discords.
Big birthday = big prezzies
Go buy something.
My 40th was a weird experience, as I'd buried my father-in-law a few days before. Last year was the first time I'd felt better about birthdays.
You must be having a better day of it.
Thanks. Shops are all closed (thanks, Covid), but I did get the George Carlin Commemorative Collection on Amazon. Gonna jam to some Jammin' in New York.
You can get away with more at 40 than 39 or 41, so do so.
