A descendant thibks he did it seeing he always left a paper trail but it's quiet around those months thinks he may have gone to England and did it. There is a boat record of a " H Holmes" crossing back home, but there isn't proof it was him. Would be interesting if it was.

Then besides everyone else, thoughts that it was really a woman have been discussed.
