More like Breath of the Probably Gonna Buy the NX Version. ... Nah that joke doesn't work so well.

Yeah, but I'm not picking up a Wii U at this point.

Also Rowlet is best starter.

 

I can appreciate a fire kitten but, but, Rowlet is a grass owl with a dapper bow tie. He is the classy starter.

 

Gaining experience from catching things is a long overdue formula change.

 

Is it just Pokemon the rest of the way?

 

This is what I believe is known as the "captive audience approach." I don't think it's supposed to go more than an hour.

What I'm trying to figure out is what hypothetical Pokémon neophyte would also be watching a goddamn Nintendo E3 stream and still be interested in this coverage, because based on how they're talking that's apparently who this is aimed at.

I mean, props to Nintendo for ending at the precise moment where I was convinced I was about to be driven mad, I guess.

 

Armor ratings. I'm in.

Edit: Climbing, a food system, and a giant map. I will lose days of my life.

 

You start losing hearts if you're not properly equipped in the cold environment. I bet the same happens at Death Mountain hence why they are only showing the "Plateau" today. Nice of them to incorporate a little Metroid into each area, so it's wide open, but I guess you need to explore the heck out of one area to be equipped enough to enter the next area. They have to control it somehow, right?

 

Was that 40 minutes of the same Pokemon gameplay we've had for years? This is unnecessary. Nintendo really need to work on their showmanship.

 

More like they spent ten minutes on the first screen of a battle against a Ladyba, a Pokémon that appeared in freaking Gold and Silver.

 

Exact same mechanics - catch Pokemon, battle with them, explore. Visuals changed, setting changes - that's it. What a waste of time. They set up a livestream, and sure, okay, show us Pokemon! That's cool! But forty minutes of bland chatter over early gameplay is nuts. THEN another fifteen minute delay while they set-up for the next part? How are they not ready for this, the one game they have been talking up?

 

Just found this E3 vid, looks promising:

 

Eh, that's the nothing trailer they showed in their conference. The game's (ostensibly) less than a year from release - where's the gameplay footage? Or... anything?

 

I don't think I am willing to go down the Pokemon rabbit hole, because I am pretty much the perfect candidate for getting sucked into the "gotta catch 'em all" trap.
