    As many people know, I listen to podcasts (not smodcasts) and one of them is a Harry Potter one. They sold "memberships" called Pickle Pack where you got to log in to some site to get exclusive content from the podcasters and a tee-shirt. The money went to help pay for the cost of the server and equipment.

    That sort of reminds me of the new Fan Club that disney has now called D23. The only difference is Disney doesn't really need the money for anything specific, but you get perks with it.
