The English publishers decided to translate Narranturm as The Tower of Fools for the first book in Andrzej Sapkowski's Hussite trilogy, and while this is technically correct, the entire point is that the title is in German because it’s referring to specific medieval buildings. This really grinds my gears.

I CANNOT find Happy Holiday cards for my non-Christmas winter-holiday celebrating friends ANYWHERE. But there are millions upon millions of Merry Christmas cards. The Seasons Greetings cards get my hopes up but the insides ALWAYS have Merry Christmas.

And I can't whine about this on Facebook because then I'll get a bunch of BUT THAT IS OKAY YVETTE, WAR ON CHRISTMAS posts.

Why, why did I have to waste a whole hour explaining to people that you can't complain about your house failing to meet contractual obligations by exceeding a 0.15 m^3/m².h air permeability under 4 Pa measurement just because you're bringing up the fact the thermal transmission coefficient is theoretically, and according to a website, supposed to be below 0.15 W/m².K for your type of construction material?

That makes about as much sense as complaining to a farmer than the fifteen pigs they sold you weigh less than the top speed of their fifteen best horses.

Both the clients there are engineers. It should have been obvious to them that when two measurements use rather significantly units, you can't substitute one measurement to the other...
