If a show has a lot of dialogues, people will keep walking along never-ending corridors

If a character is a French woman, she'll be super stylish, confident, direct and flirty

In a crime/mystery-based TV series, if an old and trusted friend of one of the characters suddenly shows up, that character will, at best, be deeply involved in that episode's crime or, at worst, be the actual murderer. (The "Law & Order" franchise does this repeatedly.)

^ And the murderer will be the character who appears to have the strongest alibi at first.

If a character happens to be gay, sooner or later it will be shown that they're particularly passionate about visual arts.

Another one "Law & Order" uses repeatedly: any character who owns or runs a business larger than a neighborhood deli will be revealed as, at best, corrupt and, at worst, murderously criminal.

No matter the urgency, when the villain dies the hero will take his time to say their badass line.

^ Like when there is a monster hidden somewhere and they're going to find the weirdest possible reason to split and go each in a different direction.

The "Star Trek" Rule of Character Death: Only Red Shirts from Security die without hope of resurrection. Anyone else can come back, especially villains.

Usually out-of-context, the villain will start a monologue where they make the case that they and the hero, after all, are two of the same kind.

The villain takes time to explain his fiendish plan in great detail to his prisoner instead of just executing him/her right away. (Older James Bond films especially).

The protagonist and his buddy have the idea at the same time, so the protagonist smiles at the buddy and the buddy goes like "oh no no no no, we're not doing that! Forget it! " And in the following scene they're doing it.

Nah, see, what you do is instead of actually reading the pages on TV Tropes, you bookmark them and save them for later. Instead of a tab explosion, you get a bookmark explosion. You know you'll never get around to reading them before you die...but at least you can comfort yourself knowing that theoretically you could read them whenever you want.

Even though a crisis is being dealt with by a group of high-ranking experts with all of their governments resources, both in material and brain power, at their disposal, it's always a complete outsider whom few people trust who knows exactly how to solve said crisis.
In kaiju movies, this manifests itself in the "Monster Child" syndrome (see the early Gamera movies).
