JCC ITT we make a radio play

Okay, so . . . that was ******* amazing. I would definitely say this is the best one so far (despite that ******* biro monologue, which I absolutely hate now). I mean, some of those line readings were downright brilliant.

@SuperWatto you have surpassed yourself. Your delivery of "We are now traversing the night side" made me actually laugh out loud. And your production talents are getting increasingly impressive. The music cues were spot-on. I particularly loved the Magrathean fanfares.

Eddie the Computer is . . . that was epic work, @Darth Punk . I also laughed out loud at "This one goes out to Diggy."

Now, Watto, I have a small favor to ask. We really need an isolated clip of @Ramza saying "head, that sounds good, yeah, head."

Oh, by the way, I'm actually Two in this next one.

EDIT: And @Chewgumma really brought the heart in that conversation with Marvin about Earth. I treasure the moments of sincerity in Adams' work and your performance in that scene was absolutely perfect.

I actually enjoy the biro monologue, and I made an extra dopey shuffle version of the musical accompaniment for it. But the best monologue parts are those where you either lose interest or get overexcited. Or downright emotional, like with the dolphin line.

That rap track at the end really does stick in your brain! I'm going to be humming that for the rest of the day.

 

Seriously, the quality of these is pretty amazing.

 

Note, @Healer_Leona is Deep Thought. I think this was an exceptional performance.

The announcer of The Answer is @Ramza. The accompanying music is by the band Boston. Ramza rerecorded some of the lines to make it fit the music.

The three people asking the questions to Deep Thought are @Rogue1-and-a-half, @cubman987 and myself.

@tom plays both Frankie Mouse and Slartibartfast, so he's often in conversation with himself in this one.

@Rylo Ken made a Bach-like piece of music, on which the Pandemonium rap and the narrator's music was based.

 

Wizardry can't act. Your haughty and slightly exasperated annoyance is what makes it great.

Still, Stephen owns you with the best line in the episode, his "yes" at 16:22.

Five months and eight days later.

THE SPECIAL EDITION

Took us all a while to get over the loss of our self-exiled star actor Chewgumma. Then about a month ago Ken, Diggy, Punk, tom and me were chatting and the topic of the radio play came up. Naturally we asked Diggy if he'd be interested in playing Arthur Dent.

He said no.

We begged. He was incorruptable (for once). But he ended up doing something magnificent: he asked @halibut.

Hal was so up for it, he recorded the Arthur Dent lines for the first four episodes in a weekend. And they're just stellar.
Now it's up to me to re-edit and mix those episodes. Got some help and a few new lines from @soitscometothis, and voilà:
Fit The First, the special edition.



I'll upload the next three as I finish the edits. Meanwhile, the cast for Fit The Fifth is already at work. We're back!

 

Passing the buck is a specialty of mine. But rarely have I passed so perfectly. @halibut is the perfect player and the perfect Arthur.

 

Awesome.

I have to say that it's sad that the old actors get erased but I understand that it needs to be done for continuity purposes.
