Jabba Anthology Film?

First part - Absolutely! Good call.
Second part - Huh?? Boba Fett is my fav character...but...Boba showed more loyalty to Han...how so?? (Bare in mind I have never read the comics or watched the cartoons)

 

The movie doesn't have to be Hero Jabba.
It can be Villain Jabba, with other characters running around dramatically. To be a scratched record repeating myself, it can be Alden Ehrenreich having a tough time around Jabba. It could be Ewan McGregor having a run in with him.

 

We'll see about that. I can see a Boba Fett centered movie, but i don't know how you can make him a hero. Especially knowing that he dies by accident. Jabba has to be part of it, but i dunno if you can get the return of the jedi stigma off him.

He refers to Han as Captain Solo, and objects to his torture to Darth Vader, no less. No one not directly related to Vader in the OT confronts Vader and lives other then Boba Fett, Vader actually explains himself to Boba Fett which is never seen any other time. Jabba just seems like any old buyer. Boba Fett seems to have some unwritten code of honor. Nothing in the OT is substantive of him being one of Jabba the Hutt's guys other than money.

But I think Jabba could be a big part of a Bounty Hunter movie.

 

I think that's likely what the rumors are built on. An underworld film where Jabba's the bad guy. Certainly not a film with Jabba as the lead protagonist.

 

I hope we learn how Jabba hired the Max Rebo band!

I can see Jabba showing up as a villan in an underworld/mafia themed story. Maybe a heist film where part of it is stealing something from Jabba's palace that the main characters need to rip off something from some Black Sun guy or something (for example).

I can't even really see Jabba as a main villain. Dangerous only in that he can send someone who is actually dangerous to kill you. The guy sits there getting fat and drooping all over scantily clad twi'leks. Guys do that at comicon every year, how intimidated are you by them?

 

Those guys at comicon usually aren't the leaders of vast criminal networks.

 

If it's some underworld film I could see it work, but if not I hope to god they don't make it

 

Maybe a Jabba x Diego Luna romantic comedy could work. He evidently has some feelings for Jabba.

Watch Jabba's listless early years in "On the Jabbafront."

Do we really need a movie about a slimy piece of worm-ridden filth?

 

As a slimy piece of worm-ridden filth myself, I say no. Believe me, it's not an interesting story.

 

Reminds me of my favorite scene from On the Wattofront.

Never saw that Clone Wars movie but Jabba's son is adorable! Definitely one of the more charming Star Wars characters just from a design perspective. Could be hilarious to have a cute father/son scene in a gritty gangster film. There was something like that in Miller's Crossing by the Coens. Very funny.

 

If Ziro isn't in this movie, I'm going to riot.
