@HanSolo29, Coming from someone that is so talented, that means a lot to me. I'm glad that you enjoyed! I will keep you updated, when I start to make more, as I know got the creative kick back in me. Your work is breathtaking and I hope you know that. I loved the Topps cards and all you Fett images. You work was so amazing, that it left me speechless.
Hey everyone! It just occurred to me to show you some icons... Here are some of my entries from my time I was competing... https://iconmonthly.livejournal.com/
I like them a lot! They're all very crisp and clean. I also think you've made some nice choices with the composition – in a sense, it's like framing a photograph. It reminds me of the time we had 'icon artists' here on the JC, and we voted on which ones would get uploaded to the server for use. That was a long time ago!
That seems like a different life @HanSolo29 You had to pick from what was available. Very cool @Jedi Bluth!
Thanks @HanSolo29 and @Lady_Belligerent. @HanSolo29 That sounds like fun, the icon contest. I miss my days of competing. It has been far too long. I saw you bumped my thread.
You're quite welcome! And yup, I did bump the thread. I want to get a feel if people are still interested in the monthly contests. Or if there is a way to revamp it so that it becomes something that more accurately reflects the direction of the forum. Since you introduced the concept based on the LiveJournal entries, I would be interested in hearing your thoughts/suggestions.
I was originally trying to other pictures of Fett, but they didn't turn out well. The first photo overlapped the main photo, and it didn't look quite right. Then the next photo the colors clashed and not in a good way. So then I went in another direction and picked a space background; then it all came together.
Felt the urge to go through my archives, and decide to share a few pieces. My mother request this piece. Must admit, I had fun creating this piece. It was fun to create, and I actually think that the photos blended very well.
This particular piece has a funny history. I was bored and just fooling around with different effects. So I didn't really put that much work into it. After posted this, people told me it was my best work. I remember being offended cause again wasn't really trying. A few years after this had been online, I caught a British poster company, selling it on eBay!
That's what they refer to as "happy accidents." It can definitely be an artist's bane, especially as you said, if it wasn't one of their best efforts.
