Alright, to begin with hello everybody :D
Nice to join a community of people who have answers to the questions i've got.

Well here's the question: In my new story i've decided to take a break from the light saber-swinging protagonist and focus on a more complex character. Long story short this guy who is NOT force adept or anything like that...but he is a HIGHLY trained former Nova corps special forces operative. He's also received performance-enhancing body modifications and injections from elite Republic intelligence organizations , but nothing TOO far fetched. He's well built and is skilled at hand-to-hand combat and is very agile. This of course comes from years of training by some individuals who'd rather their identities and mission not be known.

That being said- this guys missions require him to be a ghost. He has no identity and his sole purpose is to do what he is told, to whom, depending on the current status of the war. (this taking place during the Jedi Civil war) He needs to be able to kill Jedi AND Sith, being a non-force user. I have a few scenarios up my sleeve but i'd love any input you have to make his missions a bit more believable and awesome of course.

And He's NOT limited to any specific weapon. He's been known to kill a company of Sith troops with a rifle and then hack through their blaster wounds with a lightsaber to make it look like a Jedi was responsible. Creative, insane, anything.

    and of course

    thanks for your time :D

Welcome to the forum, ralph :)

I'm a little confused by what your question is here. Something seems to have been cut off when you said "And of course..." Are you asking for suggestions on how a non-Force sensitive would kill Force-users?

Sorry, its late and the only thing keeping me up between installing hurricane shutters is Rx energy and the occasional sour skittle.

Yeah i'm pretty much asking how a non-force user can kill a force user, both creatively and realistically. And not just padawans, down to full blown Generals out on the battlefield.

And the reason i want input is because i want to do these Jedi and Sith some justice, and not get shot in the back with a blaster rifle, you know?

hopefully this post Isn't TOO hard to follow :)

I believe it was in The Approaching Storm, it was stated that the only way to kill a Force-user was to overwhelm them with numbers, or to lull them into a false sense of security. That can be done by the character exposing themselves to the potential danger (without any real danger to them at all).

I have to admit, I didn't read the entire first post (I'm lazy like that) but I read the post before this one! :D

    I hope this helps!

No worries [face_peace] That's what I thought, I just wanted to make sure I understood before I started typing up an answer to the wrong question like a goober.

    1) Good ol' fashion slugs: A lightsaber might be able to melt them but that would definitely be tougher to do than a blaster bolt, and your character wouldn't have to worry about deflections. Slug weapons like Verpine shatter guns are a good start.

    2) Stun bolts: Depending on their depiction in canon, they're either impossible to block with a lightsaber or extremely difficult. An unconscious Jedi is easier to kill than a conscious Jedi.

    3) Ysalamiri: The creatures create a Force-neutral bubble around themselves, leaving any Jedi unable to call on the Force and reducing them to mere mortals. Your character would do well to pick up a pet ysalamir and cart it around.

    4) Poisons, gases, or toxins that work on skin contact: Force-users are too good and holding their breath and rebreathers always seem to be handy, so getting them to inhale something dangerous is probably too difficult. Something that incapacitates or kills them on contact of skin seems like a better idea.

    5) Cortosis weapons/armor: Very difficult for a lightsaber to cut through as it causes them to short out on contact temporarily. While it's unlikely your character is going to have the reflexes to keep up with a Force-user weilding a lightsaber, he might be able to buy himself some time with a blade that has a cortosis weave.

    6) Explosives: Force-users have a great danger sense, but even they can only run so fast. With a big enough bomb, you'll catch them in the blast radius.

    7) Implants: You mentioned some in your first post. There are all kinds of implants that can improves ones strength and reflexes in the GFFA or equipment like Neural Bands from KotoR that make a person less vulnerable to mind tricks (IIRC). There's probably more in the RPG guides but I don't know much about those.

    8) Yuuzhan Vong biotech?: Depending on the NJO novel ( :p ) Force users can't sense Vong biotech in the Force. Your character might want to carry around some thud bugs or something. You mentioned "Sith Troops" though, so I'm guessing this is the wrong era...

That's all I can think of right now, unless you want to get more character specific in using their own interests against them. I do remember a thread in lit from a couple years ago that might help you [face_thinking] I'll post it if I can find it.

Edit: Here it is: Force-Users, And How to Fight Them.

There's a lot of good stuff in there, I think. Hope that helps :)

That actually helped me out ALOT.

I actually had one case written up where Jedi Generals on the battlefield were given supplement injections such as adrenaline along with the troops they commanded. Being that these things were being shipped from military bases where said Intel agencies have power i had it rigged where one unlucky Jedi actually used this 'adrenaline' not knowing that it had in fact Midichlorian suppressors in it that lasted in effect for up to three hours. Then this character drills in and funnels in a couple of good old concussion grenades through the bunker ceiling, kills the lights, and does a powerslide along the floor taking out the Achilles tendons with a small lightsaber bayonet before offing the guy and planting some incriminating evidence that points Sith being responsible.

But i have more than enough work cut out for me with Verpine shatter guns or other slug technology. Oh and i'm excited to fit in that Ysalamiri.

Thank you thank you thank you! :D

If you ask me, Jedi get way to much credit. They may be somewhat superhuman, but they're not always too bright - maybe if they were, more would've gotten a hint and survived Order 66. What I'm trying to say is, a Jedi-killer ought to be able to exploit a Jedi's weaknesses. No one is infallible, and among Jedi we've seen examples in the past of overconfidence, refusing to look before they leap, or just plain stupidity.

And if that just takes way to much thinking, go with what I call the YodaKenobi Cocktail - A gun with a stun setting that also fires bullets made out of cortosis that explode on contact and are filled with poison! And for good measure, it should also shoot ysalamiri. And pudding. Everything goes better with pudding...
