Excellence, I did something similar with Desaan. I did Force Speed from the outset, jumped down and used Force Push on him, he fell down, and I got a couple good licks in with my saber. Once he got up and started swinging back, I guess I got a lucky swat in and that was all she wrote. I imagine it took all of about 15-20 seconds.

Of course, I tried it again from my last save point and it didn't work QUITE so well, but it still tends to do the trick a good amount of the time.

You know, that lightbeam you see in the cutscene with Desann, you can also activate it. On the upper rim where you start the duel from, Force pull both inset switches, then rush down to jump into the light ray.

Don't what it does, though. Must be helpful.

Just thought I'd add that once Desann tossed me around so much and so aggressively, I'm embarrased to say I was stuck on the ceiling---yes, the ceiling!---for over five seconds before able to fall down. What a temper!

I'm assuming I just got lucky here, but the final battle with Desann was VERY disappointing, as for me it only lasted about 2 seconds, if even that long.

Some of you have said you Force Sped when you got down to him and Pushed, then attacked. Well, all I did was drop down right in front of him, Force Push him down, slash once with Strong Saber style, and it was done. Over.

Other than fighting the Reborns and playing on the Multiplayer, this game for me has been one disappointment after another.

How do you fight with different saber styles, like that strong one you just mentioned? I have no idea what that is. I've just been hitting my saber normally.

Is there an option somewhere in the menu that changes saber swings?

I was looking foward to that part.

Excellence: There are three saber "stances" you acquire in the single player game (or server enabled in MP). The default stance (and the one you start out with in the game) is the Medium, marked by the yellow arch on your lower-right-hand-corner lightsaber icon. Fast Style is marked by a blue arch, and Strong Style is marked by a red arch. The manual explains the differences between all three styles. You change styles in single player with the default "L" key, in MP with the "\". I myself prefer the blue stance in combat, only switching to yellow or read to execute their respective finishing moves.

Two seconds... you definitely got lucky. The Force Push/Strong Style approach is what worked for me too, but I can go back and replay that last save exactly the same way and have a different outcome every time. Sometimes Desann can really wipe the walls with me. Try it again and see what happens. He really can be a challenge. (I assume you were at least on the medium difficulty setting?)

I had no idea there were three saber styles! How do you get them? Do they have to be earned? I've got the yellow arch. What key do I press to enabe the other two? Cool!

    Hold on, I did it!

I pressed L and my colour arc changed! I crushed Desann too quickly.

    So . . .

When do you acquire them? You don't have it for Tavion, which is why I thought it wasn't working. What are the Red and Blue saber styles best used for?

    Thanks.

I wasnt amused when I effectively decapitated Tavion and the cinematic showed that she survived [face_plain]

I got one for those of you having trouble with those automated turrets. After you get your lightsaber, just activate it and stand still. You'll deflect the laser shots first to any enemies in the area, and then back to the turret. This strategy doesn't work so well if the turret is moving, like on Nar Shaddaa.

Using the bowcaster on the turrets, like in Reelo's sanctum while standing in the far side of a corner, is the best bet. Knock out the center one, and the rest will miss you.

    Here's a question . . .

At the end of the Nar Shardda level, when you're with that R5 astromech unit, right at the top. There's a grate high up in the wall you can just manage to shoot.

What is it for? Can you do anything there?

Whe you drop down, Force swing those two girders into position, then let the wall-hugging garbage dump move you, you look up and see a building side opening. Does that have a purpose?

Excellence: You acquire the different saber stances as you go through the game, just as you acquire new Force powers or upgrades to existing powers. You start out with Medium the moment you acquire the 'saber, then Fast and Strong later on.

The girders and vents at the end of the Nar Shadaa level are just there to hide a couple of Secret areas and as an easier way to reach the Repulsor-dumpster if you dont wanna do the jumping+Force-pushing/pulling puzzle to reach said dumpster.

Question: Is there any particular bonus at the end of the game for discovering all the Secret areas?

    I have a question,
this is pertaining to the game itself.
What is the most best setting for the video?
    Like the color transperency etc.
I really want my game to be at the fullest and right now scenes come out kinda shaky.
I tried high quality but man oh man that took along time to load and it skipped a lot.
    Any answers?

Excellence, the grate and open hatch lead to a secret area. According to the guide and an on-line guide posted by another, once you jump into the garbage tram, you're to jump up into the hatch, then walk forward until you reach the secret area. Once there, continue walking and you'll find the grate. Slash through the grate and you're back at the R5 unit.

I've tried to get in that hatch many times. Even while using Force speed. I've given up on trying to get in there. I just don't see how you can do that. There's the lid overhead, and you just can't jump high enough and stay airborne long enough to get in there.

well, the way i beat it was this: jump on the steel plat by the R5 ( for some reason on my game it wasn't right on the plate)then jump to the lip, saber the grid and then your in. down one way is a secret, down the other way is some toxic waste(or what ever) blow it then slide down to the garbage tram and finish the level.NOTE: I destroyed the R5 that might be why I was able to do that.

Well, I've tried jump up through the dumpster opening as the platform slides across . . . but it can't be done. Do you have to destroy the R5? I like Force pushing it off the ledge . . . the little thing always makes a mournful yowl as it plummets.

I'll try jumping on the access plate as suggested.

Man! I sould of tried that! The jump worked best for me if I went back to the pool of water and dipped the saber in it(that way you can move a little better on the plate and you have no sparks in your face)

I been having some trouble on Cairn Dock. First of all is the Shadow trooper. It's not that I cant kill him its that a walkthrough I found said I got to fight two. All I come across is one. Then I dont know what to do in the main room(thats what I'll call it and hope you know what I mean) it seams that all the exits lead to capture or nothing. If you could help that would be great.

RogueRoyalGuard: If the walkthrough ells you about two or so enemies, it probably means that it's written having in mind a Normal or Hard Difficult setting (more enemies), while perhaps you are playing on Easy (less).

Is the mission you're having trouble with the "Stealth" mission on the dock where you have to move unseen or the Imp officers will sound the alarm on you?

Don't go all charge with your saber in that loading Cairn dock, you have to quietly bump off stormies one by one. Here's a suggestion: saber one of the them, then quickly dash back to the alarm console, and I mean dash back as fast as you can. A whole bunch of Imps will run to it---but not if your saber is there waiting for them. It's a heard level. Gotta think very creatively at times, especially later on.

But what about that Nar Shadda grate and duct? Nothing I do can get into it. You can't jump on the grate where the R5 is. I've tried! There must be a way. But how?

Ok I'm stuck on the very first level. I can get to the point where Kyle and Jan go down the giant elevator into that hallway, but once i get there all of the doors are locked. Anyone have any tips?

You need to get to the floor below that.

There's two ways of doing that. The room on the right, the big one with boxes all over, shoot a floor grate and drop below.

Or youcan go back to the elevator shaft outside that door, wait for it to rise up, and drop down to another entryway.

Either case, press the button on the comp to the right, then go left and around that reactor to the lift that carries you back up.

But don't lob a detonator at that reactor unless you want the corridor to blast with fire! To be sneaky anyway, just for fun, blow it up from a distance, then race the shockwave as you dash back for the door. But you still have to go around it.

    Good luck!
