Hello, Got my 6 posts of the year in. I hate snow in October!!

 

Hi there Snow in October is so strange! Hothie and I almost canceled our mini-trip to Minneapolis yesterday because of the weather. Here I thought planning a trip in October would be safe from the snow

 

How many times do I have to remind you, your in Iowa now? The old saying about the weather, wait 5 mins. and it will change.

 

St. Louis has the same saying. We just don't have snow in October! It's the snow that gets me.

 

It just flurried where am at but 20 miles SE of me co-worker said it accumulated 1.5 in on his car. I guess it is better than a power-outage ICE STORM.

 

ouch ... ice storm.. i am glad my new home will have a fire place.

 

We get more snow than ice here. Both are a pain though.

 

Hey Burris, are you planning on going to Icon in a few weeks? If my mom doesn't come into town from Colorado that weekend, we'll be there.

 

I dont know. What town in Colorado is your mom from. I used to live in Cortez CO.

Hello. I finally decided to venture in, and post. I am a Iowan.

 

Where in Iowa are you located?

 

She lives in Lakewood, western suburb of Denver. We didn't end up making it to the con ($40 apiece on Saturday. Yikes!!!)

 

Ankeny. Awesome city.

 

Hothie and I live there too. I actually work at Ankeny DMACC. Very nice little town, we're quite fond of it

 

Cool. Iowa is the best state.

 

Yes, I've lived in Ankeny for almost 7 years now, and my Dad and step-mom (and actually both brothers in separate homes) lived here in the 90's. It's a great place to live. And now we've added buellsmith and his wife to the list of Ankeny residents, too.
We meet at Jay's CD and Hobby on SE 14th every Sunday from about 12:30 to 5. So stop in and say hi sometime.

 

I am new here and besides my introduction this is my first post. I was not aware that there even were many others in Iowa or Des Moines who were into this stuff as I am. It is nice to see that I am not alone. I look forward to finding out more about this forum and it's members, especially those I can actually interact with outside the web.

 

Welcome! We meet every Sunday at 12:30 at Jay's CD and Hobby (on SE 14th street) to play Miniatures and the 3rd Friday of every month at Jay's for a more general meeting. Let us know if you have any questions, hope to see you there!

 

Hold on a second. We don't just let anyone meet us. You have to go through rigorous testing in order to be deemed worthy of meeting with us. Qualifications you must meet are:

1. Love, or at least moderately like, or at least have heard of Star Wars
2. Have logged onto these boards
3. Be potty-trained.

Do you meet these qualifications? Then you can meet with us...

 

LOL! That one almost got me as first. I was like "What? Seriously?" Then I read further and got the joke. I don't know anything about miniatures and stuff, never played a role-playing-game of any kind, but I enjoy the company of friendly others. So, one of these weeks I will show up and you will know who I am. It will be funny if I already know some of you. Have a good day, and thanks for the warm welcome.
