Little update for those waiting for pre-order links to go live: Some of them for RESISTANCE REBORN are now active, and more will roll out over the next 48 hours or so. There's not a specific rhyme or reason to which retailers and which formats go up, so I can't give you a specific time on any one format or outlet.

(And if you're wondering why books aren't just ready for pre-order the moment we announce them - well, some people use our placeholder listings to leak books, so we had to get smarter and do things this way. It's more complicated [posting a book is not just as simple as hitting a button on a website or flipping a switch], but it's how we have to do things now.)

 

Just curious, have you ever had to cancel or change a book's release due to a leak?

 

What also helps is leakers growing up and stopping their harmful behaviour.

Anyway, I'm excited about this one. "New Big Three" (plus Leia!) and set post-TLJ make this an easy sell! I also like that we're getting a new writer for this one, too!

 

That tweet embodies everything wrong for me, the ST has one film left - why not simply say it's a year later or however long it is? What's the benefit to the secrecy at this point, just over 6 months to go?

But at the same time, what real harm is there in keeping it secret? I'm spoiler-sensitive enough that I'd almost prefer not knowing until I have to. We know there is "some amount of time" between TLJ and TROS, does the exact amount actually matter?

 

Am I the only one that was really hoping there'd be a Palpatine novel in the Journey to TROS?

 

I can't wait for this book. I wasn't expecting a Rey novel until after TROS, but this is a pleasent surprise.

 

Fair point. My irritation is likely stemming from that we've had five years of this approach - while the ST was in mid-flow it made a kind of timid sense, but now we're on this final stretch can things not change?

Nothing is gonna change until the ST is pretty much over and done with, then the flood gates open.

Rey's parents? Could be Palpatine. Don't ask. JJA won't tell anyway.
