Comics Kelnacca is getting a one shot. Written by Cavan Scott

Just found this out. Will be released September 4th. Reported by Gizmodo.

 

A one-shot comic focusing on Kelnacca the Wookiee Jedi from The Acolyte is coming soon!
The comic will bridge the gap between the High Republic and The Acolyte. It is written by Cavan Scott & illustrated by Marika Cresta.

Intresting, so its a quick shoot of life?

 

Doubt that it will feature the 96-year gap between Phase III and The Acolyte, more likely there will be just a Phase I flashback with younger Kelnacca. Either way great that live-action series finally gets a tie-in.

 

I’m just hoping this gets included in the inevitable High Republic phase 3 omnibus, so we don’t end up with yet another one-shot unlikely to be collected in any hardcover. It’s got the High Republic branding on it so I’m feeling optimistic.

Seems quite possible that this comic is going to feature a "life flashes before Kelnacca's eyes" narrative.

It is so quintessentially Star Wars for the character who dies with what will likely amount to less than 5 minutes of cumulative screentime to get the backstory comic, lmao

*ahem* I mean, I do expect he will get more screentime in the further flashbacks, but yeah it is a very star wars-y course of action.

 

We have been waiting for the Coleman Trebor oneshot for over two decades.

Great story about memories and friendship that goes through time. Seems like Kelnacca is not going to have tattoos in Fear of the Jedi, but his Padawan is probably going to appear there.
