I usually just check your site for the local scoop, but I actually have something to add today which may interest you. Kevin J Anderson and his wife, Rebecca Moesta, will be attending Ad Astra in Toronto from March 28 to 30. Details are at www.ad-astra.org.
I met them at Dragon Con this year and they signed all my books that I snuck in my suitcase, and their panels were really great. Between them they have added significantly to the Star Wars Universe.

I am trying to interest other SW authors to visit the north for next year, so this is my personal plug to entice you to come to the Ad Astra con and show them we are fans too.

    Thanks for reading!

Thanks for adding the book list. I tried to find this last night, but I kept leaping to other SW sites and conversations - so much to catch up on!

Okay, I read a little further into these forums, and I noticed that some of you have been to Ad Astra before, so perhaps we have crossed paths. I went to C3 as well.

Talked to someone at the 501st today, and they may come as well.

Any ideas on making this more interesting at the con? I am kinda new at this.

I am still stunned that I asked Kevin to come, they agreed and now it is happening.
    :) [face_worried]

Well... I am of the 501st... We always list Ad-Adstra as a con to try and make... but since it is mostly a literary con I don't think they realize how much costuming happens there...

I made Ad-Astra once... and always plan to go... but it seems to be a bad luck one for me to get to... since something always stops me from going...

Ooo Ooo... Ask Karen Traviss if she can come!! hotest new Star Wars Auther there is!... lol (Republic Commando series author) lol

Are you asking about ways to promote Keven and Rebecca being there? or perhaps how to make their Area more interesting for signing Autographs??? like perhaps a Star Wars 'ish signing table and area?... hehe... I know they did other books and stuff, but come on, you have to forgive me my bias.... lol

I am positive you could arrange for Stormtrooper Armed Escorts for them to and from the table...

I just checked this morning, and since my trip on Sunday to the World's Biggest Bookstore, I now own all the published Star Wars books. What can I say - I am a computer nerd, and a Star Wars book worm:-B . I would love to see Karen Traviss!

But, I went after bigger game, also from Dragon Con. Offer was made for 2009, I am just waiting (patiently?) for the reply. Not sure if I have that kind of liberty to spill yet... PTB sounded covert.

I think a storm trooper escort would be awesome! Terry Brooks came a few years ago, but no big splashes. But Kevin is definitely the personality to enjoy it. We were invaded by Anime costumes last year - not a bad thing, but a little overwhelming. The time is right for a Star Wars presence.

The Masquerade was huge when I started going to Ad Astra 15 years ago, but there were lean years too. Last year's was a fair size. There were several costuming panels too.

I did actually read his latest, the last days of Krypton (Superman's family) and it was amazing - pulled together many of the Superman stories. I think he might be plugging for that, and his forthcoming series. But, I too am biased.

I plan on attending Ad Astra. I will probably wear either my Princess Leia or Jedi costume. Ad Astra has been turning into a good costuming convention the last few years. And of course I will be bringing my books to be autographed.

Just wanted to say, Thanks guys!
    Appreciate the support, muchly.
And I look forward to meeting the 501st and friends, instead of quietly admiring the customes from a distance.
If there is anything you need set-up or done for the event, please let me know.
