Half way to their target ($260,000) of $400,000 on day 1, and raising at about $1000/minute. I think I can stump up $30 or so.

Before you say 'Who?' kiddies, Monkey Island 1 & 2, Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, plus newer stuff like Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, Deathspank...

And the best thing is it appears the offer is being taken seriously. I've been following this and apparently Tim Schafer and Notch are going to be talking about it at GDC next month!

That's pretty insane that they've gotten 1.2 million over the last day. Last time Tim and Ron teamed up we got of the the best games ever so I have high hopes for this.

Tim said:

On a rather more serious note, Schafer explained that while the project will be true to its 2D adventure game roots, it will be more than just a nostalgic throw-back. There'll be innovation in there too.

"It's not going to be an adventure game that apologises for being an adventure game. It's not going to be trying to be something else and have a bunch of action elements or something like that.

"But it's not a museum piece or just a nostalgia piece. It's going to be fresh and feel modern and feel like what the next game would have been if I'd made one straight after Grim Fandango.
