I'm not totally convinced myself, but a 28 year old playing a 30 year old is not exactly implausible casting.

 

She'd be a perfect Sabine however being a spy for Moff Gideon sounds possible as well

I'll go a step further. It's a clone of Ventress but she's wearing a fake tan.

Might as well bring in Sasha's cousin, Snoop Dogg, to play a Wookie with pigtails.

Yes. Clearly it was a typo.

 

Are we sure the cloak is part of her costume? I bring it up only because when the ST was being filmed there was mention in the UK press about the actors wearing cloaks over their costumes when walking to/from filming on sets so people couldn't see the costumes.

 

Anyone remember when RO's first trailer came out and we got a brief glimpse of a mysterious hooded figure kneeling in front of a bacta tank?

And everybody speculated that it was either the Emperor, an inquisitor or maybe even Snoke?

Only for it turn out to be a completely irrelevant five second character.

Bottom line: Don't trust trailers (especially Star Wars ones)

 

Everyone here is quite wrong, dramatically so, and in a classic LFL curveball the character is none other than Mara Jade.

 

Or another young padawan of the same era who escaped the purge?

 

You’re kidding, right? I doubt a trailer would include a wholly BTS shot like that. Also, this is no hastily thrown over her costume cloak. It’s well designed and tailored.

 

The complexion of the character looks kinda orangery for some reason to me, but maybe its just the lighting and a tan or make up. Dunno, could also be Gideon's daughter or an agent of his or another bounty hunter one off type.

But well we've seen Mandalorians wearing cloaks on TCW this past season to disguise themselves.

 

Reckon she's a Rebel agent.

 

Won't that mean she, and possibly baby Yoda, are implied to be later killed by Kylo Ren?

 

I could see it as maybe Boba Fett's daughter(he had one called Ailyn Vel in the EU).

 

There were a load of rumors before the trailer came out, and before we had confirmation that Banks was in the show, that she was in the show playing Sabine. Can we safely assume it has to be an Asian actress that plays her? Not sure. Interesting though.

One thing is for sure- if she fights Gina Carrano, she ABSOLUTELY MUST LOSE. Too unrealistic if not. I know there aren't many fight fans here that know about these things, but Sasha is a fake fighter, and Gina is a real one.

 

She might be a dark Force user but then again, maybe the trailer is misleading. I don't see Moff Gideon being a match against Ahsoka so maybe she'll be the one fighting Ahsoka in a lightsaber duel in the final episode of the season.
