Lit A/V Kotor? remake? is? probably? (not?) happening?

It’s real a Kotor remake for ps5

 

Will watch the trailer in a bit but this is huge.

I never got to play the original 20 years ago as it was XBox exclusive.

Look, we've all been wanting big stuff to talk about, right? Now we have it.

 

so I guess the question is is this a full on remake or a remake made for canon I’m not sure

It's a Female Revan i bet huge money on it.

 

It would be next to impossible to make it be canon and preserve the player choice aspect.

I really hope this is good, the KOTOR games will forever be my favorites.

 

I forget if it was you or someone else who said they can always say the basic stuff happened but unsure of the details.

like Revan existed they just don’t know what gender they were or if they went good or bad

 

That is my hope as well

 

The original games were EU canonical, specifically the lightside endings, with the specifics of what happened in what order etc (the "player choice aspect") not being pinned down. Not too different than canon games like Jedi: Fallen Order.

 

I suspect the endings might be a bit more substantial than that.

For it to be canon and with player quest choices you need a way to accommodate both light and dark side endings.

Edit - just saw D's post, so that's how they did it before. Worked before, probably work again.

 

Plus they can still make RPGs and then make a canon ending. RPGs do that all the time. KOTOR did that

 

I guess my point is could they incorporate canon elements like mention Jeddah or Exegol.

 

Now there's an idea.....

Seems like very deliberate wording.

 

I am gonna assume it’s legends

 

I hope we see golden days off Jedha and Exegol. It think more like canon, as thi is their time to show the galaxy 4000 years before and not ruin any plans for kotor worlds by doing a legends game remaster.

 

It's in all caps, so it could easily be "A legend remade for PS5" and then it doesn't seem as obvious or intentional. I'm sure the people who made the game trailer don't even know/care about legends vs canon anyway.
