Gaming KOTOR remake (it’s really happening) (No it isn't)

I'm just saying the rumors are action RPG.

 

How good are those rumors, anyway? Are they like… Grubb good, or merely Star Wars fan site good?

Hmm apparently they came from YouTube and so not as good as Grubb, no.

But to be honest, I would just be shocked if a huge SW game these days were turn based. Best you can probably hope for is a FFVIIREMAKE style pause option.

 

And I thank you for sharing this info. I’d be fine with the game being more Force Unleashed and Fallen Order in how you attack and defend/ hack n’slash.

 

Same kind of style of fighting but I am not sure of the overall stories.

 

Agreed, keep the story as close to Kotor as possible.

The FFVIIIR combat is pretty cool because you're basically still controlling each characters individually (well once their ATB gauge fills up) although it does have a bit of a frantic pace to it but it goes like super slow mo bullet time as you bounce between the combat options. I think that could work for Star Wars, it still feels more RPG game than like an action RPG like Zelda or Horizon. Also in KOTOR you were still running around anyway in between selecting options in real time (unless you paused it manually), or just straight up hack the guy so it wasn't entirely frozen turn based like classic RPG anyway.

I played South Park Fractured But Whole and its turn based which is a fun throwback but it really only fit the setting/style of the game/world to be turn based.

 

What I meant was maybe each story be unique but the overall fighting is like hack and slash but instead of like fighting orcs, goblins, or even other foul creatures of dungeons and Dragons, it would obviously be slashing stormtroopers and other imperials.

Same kind of games of fighting imperials but the cut scenes in each of the games makes them different story’s.

And the foul creatures would be based on the monsters of Star Wars or aliens all in all.

 

anyway to reiterate the canon conversation from when this popped up, seems pretty more clear now, it's a Legends remake of a Legends thingie with two LFL continuity gurus chiming in



Which leads me to believe that the "KOTOR film", if there is one, is indeed the Revan story and would be the "canon" version of the events so they're Legends-ing the Legends remake.

 

Now people can panic about whether the new game replaces the original in that continuity.

 

I clicked on this thread because I thought there might be news about a video game, not some ecumenical counsel.

 

We just had some absolutely awesome Star Wars come out that wasn't canon but that won't stop us from being Canon obsessed.

 

I sure do hope the remake preserves the doctrine of Revansubstantiation, which as we all know holds that the communion wafers multi class into a Jedi after consumption through divine grace.

 

I honestly hope it's more in line with the Disney canon than the old EU canon.

Don't know if that's popular here but yeah.

I mean, I don't really like the old EU compared to the Disney canon.

Besides, I want to see a less technologically developed GFFA.

 

Hmm, only one problem - there isn't any corresponding Disney canon for this.

The Remake has also been confirmed as being Legends too.

 

This is legends to appease the old republic fandom once disney canon goes big movies for this era and changes Revan!

 

No, I don't think it is - it's about this game being, in both incarnations, a RPG, which is what the fanbase likely cares about most, not canon or continuity.

Revan has been changed millions of times over, with me adding to the tally in the last 2-3 days.

 

We will see how they approach the old republic after this game. And Revan like Thrawn likley still be same but some changes.

 

I'm sceptical - the two work very, very differently.

 

I was hoping that it wouldn't be, but eh, I'll live.

 

Once again thought there was news, but instead it's just people talking about HOW made up this made up story will officially be. Sigh.
