ST Kylo Ren and General Hux dynamic in IX

Hux will be the one doing the Wilhelm scream in Episode IX

 

I could see Hux overthrowing Kylo and either being killed by Kylo for it or if Kylo is redeemed at the end Hux will make the final move as the boss... and then die. Either way Hux dies.

 

What if Hux is redeemed and Kylo isn't. That'd be a true subversion of our expectations.

 

Hux and Rey will have children! That would be great!

There has got to be another command rival out there who is salivating at the thought of decimating these two kids playing battleship out there, and is just waiting for his or her chance to finally seize control of the First Order, now that the real leadership in Snoke is gone.

 

Without Rey throwing him that saber he would have been dead.

 

Not a fight literally, but mentally Kylo also outsmarted Snoke and killed him with the flick of two fingers.

 

Snoke got Solo'd.

 

That actually could be a nice fit for Grant in the film...

 

Thrawn.

 

I'd love to have any scene with Kylo and Hux that includes Rey. Daisy and Domhnall have a nice chemistry and seeing them in a role opposite that would be a lot of fun!

 

We could only hope...

 

Shouldn’t Kylo just be able to read Hux’s mind and know he’s feeding the Resistance info to ultimately knock Kylo off?

 

Hux could go all Snape and empty his mind.

 

He had to be bailed out before he was choked to death. How is that striking fear into the hearts of anyone?

 

I hope Kylo doesn't kill him.

 

The Hux-Kylo duo is obviously unstable. It can't last. And yeah, Hux can't directly oppose Kylo.

So, I can see Hux seeking out a new master, or being seduced or coerced into following a new leader.

Either someone powerful and competent... Thrawn... or something nastier.

But the question will be whether JJ has the time to focus on battles within the First Order. Maybe that side of things is kept simple so that he can concentrate on the Rey-Kylo-Finn soap opera.

 

Kylo Ren is too unstable to rule the galaxy. I can see an entire wing of the First Order conspiring to overthrow him and replace him with someone they can manage like General Hux. This military junta can be lead by Richard E. Grant who lets Hux play King while he rules in secret as the true power behind the throne.

 

It's like Anakin's fantasy of ruling the galaxy--make things whatever he wants them to be, just like that, as though it will be so easy.

Usually when a leader only seems to rule by their emotional whims and selfish desires, it leads people to question them as authorities. If the bubble of deception of what the FO is about is broken for the brainwashed masses, they may begin to see there is no real purpose, that it's all a lie, that it is only about one selfish person and their desires.

 

I think portraying Nazis (let’s face it, Hux is a space Nazi) as total bumbling fools trivilalizes how dangerous such people are, which is especially problematic today where we see a rise in fascistic types. So I hope there’s a different approach to Hux in IX. A coup where Kylo is overthrown by Hux would be interesting.
