Sad reading. LAJ_Fett was the rock of the collecting forums. Friendly, welcoming and made time to help anyone who had a question (never seen a question she couldn’t answer). Condolences to those who knew her better than I did.

Damn thats sad news. I rarely interracted with her,but she was nice. I am almost never here on these threads. She will be missed.

 

This is a shock to learn! One of my very first interactions on these boards was with her, kindly helping me with an account issue. Hugs and condolences to everyone close to her.

 

Don’t think I ever interacted with her directly, but it was always clear that she was one of the main pillars holding this place up. My condolences to her friends and family.

What sad news to hear. I'd see the username often, without realizing the extent of her presence, yet know that things behind the scenes rested in good hands. It's heartening to read the responses and learn more about the person behind the username. Rest in Peace, @LAJ_FETT.

 

First of all, to say she will be missed is a vast, vast understatement. Genuinely shocking news. RIP. If anyone deserves a banner announcement around here, it was her. Thank you to the people who put that together and got it up.

Secondly, dealing with things like this is the kind of thing people don't think about when they think about the job of being an Admin around here. Thank you to @A Chorus of Disapproval and any of the other mods who were involved in dealing with this situation, tracking down the info and contacting her offsite, etc. These things are stressful and this outcome is the one you're most dreading when you have to go offsite to try to figure out what's going on with someone. Take time for yourselves to process this. It's hard.

That's...so sad... I haven't had contact with LAJ_FETT personally but seen her around for the last 10 years since I've been here and was always flattered when she liked some of my posts. I always found her presence extremely comforting and she made the forums "homely" so to speak. I remember when there was an outrage she was always the first one to tell us the details what happened etc....

I really don't know how to process this except that her passing made me realize that life really is short. Things will just not be the same around here without her. I'll miss seeing her around...please send my condolences to her friends and family. And thank you to all those involved in taking the initiative and tracking down what happened to her when things seemed off. If anything, this really shows the strong sense of community we have here. And of course, as the previous poster mentioned, also do take care of yourselves. This is an extremely difficult situation and having to bear the bad news at the end....

She will be dearly missed.

 

I'm so sorry to hear this, and wish I had known her better. I don't know if she was the first to do so, but I remember she used to host the NaNoWriMo threads in Fanfic years ago, which is a tradition that continues to this day. Condolences to her family and friends and everyone impacted by her loss.

Very sad news. She was *so* kind and helpful when I needed to recover my account in 2015 after years away and forgetting my password.

Like a few other people, I didn't know her super well, but she always came off as kind and willing to help with whatever the issue was for that person.
