I basically want the tone of this movie to be what Lord & Miller would have delivered with Solo had they not gone overboard with improvisation to the extent that, apparently, the individual scenes did not gel together into a coherent narrative.

I want fun and funny, but not slapstick or cartoony. Fun and funny in an Oceans 11 kinda way, not in a Lego movie kinda way.

Don't be ridiculous, they can't do a Daffy Duck kind of way, they would infringe on copyright. Now Donald Duck, on the other hand... nothing like some good ol' corporate synergy!

Also, it would make it easier to add Star Wars to Kingdom Hearts, so I'm all for it.

With no irony, I would wholly endorse Lando crossing over with Pigs In Space. It would actually be canon as well as justice for Lando not joining the Muppet Show.

“Still, even a duck has to be taught to swim.”

“What’s a duck?” Luke asked curiously.

“Never mind. In many ways, you know, you are much like your father.” Kenobi’s unabashed look of evaluation made Luke nervous.

No, there are no racial slurs here. The crossover would be a series called Ugnaughts in Space, inspired by Pigs in Space. Lando is a stowaway on an Ugnaught expedition ship. He stealthily boarded their ship while being a castaway on a remote planet, where his own ship had encountered a hostile takeover by ravenous crabs two years prior.
The Ugnaughts allow him to stay aboard their ship, as long as he helps to complete their five-year mission (they meet during year three). Many of his chronicles take place in the company of his Ugnaught friends, which includes Captain Boar Mullet.

Agreed. We had a Han Solo film with Lando in a supporting role. It would be nice to now see a Lando film with Han in a supporting role.

One thing I would like to see this time is some actual smuggling. In Solo, the Falcon was basically just a hotted-up getaway car for a heist.

I'd like to see some actual quiet skulking in and out of spaceports by the ship. One of the most tense and atmospheric scenes in the original trilogy for me was when the stolen Lambda shuttle had to "fly casual" past Vader's super star destroyer to reach Endor. A few scenes like this of the Falcon discreetly entering sleazy spaceports right under the Empire's nose would add some tension to the Lando film and show our favourite smugglers at the peak of their game.

Solo suffered from "crowded Falcon" syndrome too. With most of the supporting cast of that film dead or gone their separate ways, we could spend some more time focusing on Han, Lando and Chewie and perhaps their relationship with Jabba and his goons.

what is that supposed to mean?

that Lando is inherently a criminal? Because even based on the OT we know that's not true

the Calrissian Chronicles are well established even before Disney

I’m like 99% sure he meant Jabba would’ve been in the sequel that Solo was setting up.

I had a completely daft idea last night. :D Correct me if I am wrong but nothing about Darth Talon is canon now, is that correct? Is it all relegated to Legacy?

Okay, I know originally Talon was going to be a Twi'lek but if she isn't canon, now she can officially be anything so here goes my bonkers idea....

    1. Firstly, let's reimagine her as a human.

    2. We know that Lucas was going to use Darth Talon as Darth Maul's apprentice who would corrupt Ben Solo in the Sequel Trilogy.

    3. We also know that Qi'ra was traveling off to meet Darth Maul and become his henchwoman at the end of Solo.

    4. Therefore, what is there to prevent Qi'ra becoming completely corrupted by Maul over time and, hence, becoming his Sith apprentice, thereby taking the name Darth Talon?

For unknown reasons, she ultimately becomes so angry at Han Solo, particularly when she learns he has married and had a child with someone else (Leia) she decides to inflict a terrible revenge on him. Then, after the demise of Maul, she learns Snoke/Palpatine is also planning his revenge
on the Solo/Skywalker family so they join up in a partnership of convenience.

After all, "always two there are" but Snoke/Palpy seems to be alone in the Sequel Trilogy if Kylo isn't formally a Sith apprentice. Therefore, there is a spot for Qi'ra/Darth Talon to be working as his apprentice in the background after switching her allegiance from Maul.

The main issue is the problem of ageing. She would have to age much more slowly than Han. Either Qi'ra is a different kind of humanoid or Maul or Snoke has been trying Plagueis-style experiments on her to prevent her from dying and ensure she maintains her youth.

That's it. Told you it was a completely bonkers idea! :p

this should have stayed a TV show or Miniseries.

I feel like SW movies should stick to being about Wars and Major Galactic events in history of the timeline. This won't fit either of those things.

like its super weird that Kenobi and Fett who are more prominent characters get TV shows but Lando essentially a Solo spinoff getting a movie. I mean if Kenobi was a movie and they had Kenobi vs Vader that movie would make a ton more $$$ than Lando movie would ever make.

I still find myself confused by Disney-Lucasfilm's movie planning feels all over the place. Too many official projects and too many directors attached to other projects. How exactly can all these projects even be made? Also if one takes into account that X number of projects might get sequels it feels like there is no room for everything to be made unless they are planning on releasing 2-3 movies a year??? But then we had Iger/Disney blaming too much SW from 2015-2019 to why they slowed down on movies.

I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't made unless they fast-track it over other projects but feels like SW is a place where the first X # of movies need to be movies that can be big winners at Box Office and can win over the fans. I don't think this movie fits that, it feels like one which would benefit be relased down the line.

but then how long will Glover be attached? He's a 41 y/o playing Lando who is like half that age.[face_rofl] By time the Dec 2026 movie is out which doesn't seem like Lando he'll be 43 y/o too. Wait too long and Glover will be almost 50.

Agreed. I'd have loved to see this as like a 2 or 3 season series.

Glover will always be attached because there's no film without him. As for the age he's playing...we don't know what that is yet because they haven't written it yet. It could be set just before or around the time he acquired Bespin. BDW was in his early forties in ESB so Glover would be the perfect age for the next 3-4 years if they did something like that. But no matter what age, Glover is your man for this project. He's excellent in the role.

It feels like they are making Lando into a movie just because they can. Probably not because there is any good reason too but they want too get back some of that box office money. Looking at the TM&G budget, its probably gonna end up with a fairly lower budget for a Star Wars movie.
