    Here's my take.
    • Blood and family will be a theme throughout the film (as if the red dust and red coloration on the posters weren't a huge clue).
    • The movie opens with the evacuation of D'Qar and Poe Dameron attacking the Mandator IV-class Dreadnought in orbit. His mission is to disable the air-defense towers on the ship to make it vulnerable for the bombers that follow. While the Mandator IV-class is destroyed or disabled, the bombers still take heavy losses. Poe rendezvous with the Raddus after the initial battle.
    • As the Resistance is about to leave the D'Qar system, the Supremacy and its supporting ships arrive and begin pursuit. Poe's X-wing is destroyed by Kylo Ren in the hangar of the Raddus before he can reach it, but Kylo fails to kill Leia as Snoke commands. The Raddus escapes to hyperspace, badly damaged by the attack and heads to rendezvous with Holdo's fleet near Crait.
    • Luke Skywalker is initially highly skeptical of training Rey, but is convinced ultimately to do so after watching her for several days and talking with her and Chewie by the Falcon.
    • Rey will be called by Snoke in the middle of her meditation resulting in a 'force confrontation' between the two. This confrontation and the power Rey exhibits during it frighten Luke off continuing to train Rey. The confrontation may also give Snoke their location. He in turn decides to send Kylo and the Knights of Ren to Ahch-To to confront Luke and capture the 'scavenger'.
    • Rey will be revealed to be Luke's daughter, whom believed both her and her mother died 15 years earlier. This revelation awakens Rey's own abandonment issues and causes her to further lash out against Luke. The two of them become separated after the confrontation.
    • Kylo and the Knights of Ren will attack Luke and Rey on Ahch-To during the night (while it rains). While Luke handily defeats the Knights of Ren, Kylo convinces Rey to leave Ahch-To with him. Luke, Chewie, and the Porgs leave Ahch-To.
    • Rey refuses to turn and is tortured by Snoke, resulting in a force confrontation. Like with the earlier clash between Rey and Snoke in her meditation, Rey's resistance causes damage to the throne room. Stunned by these events Kylo intervenes and gives Rey the chance to escape. While Rey escapes the throne room and Kylo defeats the Praetorian guards, he is beaten by Snoke. Humiliated, Kylo surrenders to Snoke and continues to carry out his orders.
    • Rey's escape is aided by Finn and Rose who have infiltrated the Supremacy. As a distraction, they detonate explosive's in the Supremacy's hangar bay before stealing a ship to escape. During their escape Finn confronts Phasma and beats her.
    • The Raddus is destroyed at some point, and it's escape pods are launched toward Crait with Poe Dameron aboard one.
    • Everyone meets up on Crait during the final battle (including Luke). Luke will demonstrate just how powerful he is during the final battle, but even he can't turn the tide completely against the First Order. The resistance is all but destroyed, with Luke, Leia, Poe, Finn, BB-8, and Rey escaping on the Millennium Falcon through the caves.
    • There is no romantic subplot, more a family discovery subplot with Luke and Rey. Reylo doesn't happen... and Rey doesn't really even know Poe at this point so the primary romance will be Finn and Rey (Also Finn has no last name, allowing them to continue to use the Skywalker name in the future).
    • Snoke is Snoke... Very little of his backstory will be revealed.

Some of this is already heavily rumored, but...
    • Luke will be afraid to train Rey, and this will involve reasons that will change the way we look at the Force as a whole
    • Kylo Ren will spare his mom's life and will be swayed more towards the light side by the film's end
    • Rey will be called to the "dark" side by something scary...perhaps Snoke
    • Kylo Ren will end up working with Rey towards the end of the film
    • Kylo Ren will attempt to kill Snoke but will fail...Snoke will survive, but with even more disgusting and life-threatening injuries
    • A green lightsaber will be ignited
    • General Hux will die
    • Paige Tico will die
    • A 5th planet other than the 4 we already know of (Ahch-To, D'Qar, Cantonica, Crait) will appear

“The relationship between Kylo and Rey is awesome” Daisy Ridley says about The Last Jedi

That was my prediction for VIII nearly 2 years ago when I first saw TFA.

Other items of prescient wisdom for VIII:

    - The story of Ben Solo's fall will be explored;
    - His pull to the Light will deepen as the movie progresses; by the end his allegiance with Snoke and the FO will be seriously shaken, and most probably would have ended;
    - He will fight with the Praetorian Guards - NOT as a training, most probably to help or save Rey
    - Snoke will narrowly escape to leave Ben and Rey and maybe Luke together facing him and destroying him in IX;
    - Leia and Ben will hear/talk with each other through the Force. Leia will still want her son back, because she loves him and feels his deeper than ever conflict. Leia will not give up on her son.
    - Han's sacrifice in VII will bear fruit in VIII and will be the cause of Ben's deepening conflict and realization he did a terrible mistake
    - Connected with the above - Ben will finally realize that Han was right - Snoke is using him and has manipulated him all along. He will make a choice and end this toxic relationship.
    - At first, Kylo will be conflicted about his conflict and pain and will be angry with himself and see it as weakness; as the film goes on he will more and more understand that not only the mask should be destroyed but that Kylo Ren's persona is not who he truly is and who he is meant to be; by the end of the film he will understand that his destiny is to be Ben Solo - and embrace his family's legacy coming from Han and Leia, and Luke, and Anakin, and also as bearer of Ben Kenobi's name, also of him; and realize that his destiny is NOT being Kylo Ren who is a persona artificially created via Snoke's manipulations and his legacy is not with Vader, nor the FO.
    - Snoke is a vile predator who targeted Ben and will possibly target Rey as well. Ben will feel protective and that will be the last straw for him.
    - Rey's legacy is somehow connected with Obi-Wan Kenobi (my ideal, but maybe they didn't take that route...we'll see)
    - Some kind of ancient prophecy about the Force connects Rey and Ben; It is their destiny to unite and bring Balance to the Force; this will be alluded to and possibly left for IX to further explore - perhaps a sort of quest that only Rey and Ben together united can accomplish. Or something.
    - Luke is not just hiding on the island. He has a mission of sorts to figure things out about the Force. The compass he has is supposed to be guiding him to something.
    - Obi-Wan and Yoda's force ghosts will appear in some capacity - maybe just as a voice in Kenobi's case...
    - Also, if unrelated (which I strongly believe) - "Reylo"
(Romantic "Reylo" strongly alluded to in VIII, to develop in IX; i.e. suggestive looks in VIII, space kiss(es) in IX)

I predict Luke will Force shove Rey to the ground in lightsaber training and say, “Who’s your daddy?”

Also, I agree that we’ll learn about BS’s fall.

I predict based upon the following

    1. The Big 3 more concerned about the NR than with BS (this from Driver)
    2. BS learning from the Holonet that he’s DV’s grandkid (this I base upon Aftermath: Empire’s End and Leia’s failing to inform her son seems to confirm the previous reason.) So he hates the Big 3.
    3. BS angry over his mother’s disgrace because of her bloodline and at the hands of the Senate (albeit instigated by a Centralist who is an FO agent)
    4. He’s too full of Vader.
    5. Snoke plays him by praising him for his raw strength and flatters him by telling him he’s the perfect embodiment of light and dark, causing conflict and balance in whom Uncle Luke considered the Chosen One.
    6. Snoke tells him the dark side is his destiny and BS becomes obsessed with his grandfather.
    7. Snoke hands him the keys to the KoR and gives him a cool name
    8. He learns how to make a wizard red lightsaber

    Twelve sorta random predictions:

    1. Turning point in Kylo’s fall: Abruptly learning about his grandfather’s identity and the attack on his mother, and Luke’s subsequent refusal to join him in finding and punishing those responsible for the napkin bombing. He views Luke and Han as weak for failing to avenge the attempt on his mother’s life, and he hates the New Republic for humiliating his family.

    2. Luke’s temple is destroyed when Kylo returns (at Snoke’s goading) with the KOR to take his grandfather’s lightsaber, which Luke had kept from him. The lightsaber is taken by one of Luke’s allies (who escapes) during the fight. Kylo does end up with Vader’s helmet and the cracked crystal from Luke’s green saber. The other piece is in Luke’s necklace.

    3. Rey’s mother came to Luke for help when Rey was a small child. They were being pursued by dark side followers at the behest of Snoke, who was unknown to the galaxy at that point. Luke directed her to go to Jakku and find refuge with the Church of the Force. Something about Jakku made it impossible for Snoke to sense and find Rey while she was hidden there. However, Rey and her mother never make it to Tuanal, and her mother is forced to leave her with Unkar Plutt. Luke was aware that Rey was living on Jakku as a scavenger, but believed that it was the safest place for her, and that the force would guide her to him when the time was right. This will, obviously, cause a major rift between Rey and Luke.

    4. When Kylo shows up on Ach-To, he does so against Snoke’s instructions. By that point, Snoke has lost faith in him and is looking for a replacement.

    5. Luke has become completely pacifistic and opposes the use of the Force as an instrument, whether for ostensibly good or evil purposes.

    6. Kylo believes that he can use Anakin’s saber to commune with his grandfather, who can teach him to fully harness and control his powers, which would in turn allow him to break free from Snoke’s control. Hux is aware of Kylo’s obsession with the saber, and does not trust his loyalty to the First Order.

    7. Kylo is deeply dependent on Snoke, who has mentally dominated him from an early age. But he is also deeply resentful, and once he kills Han, he comes to understand that Snoke has been using him all along.

    8. Kylo steps in to help Rey on the Supremacy. This happens right after bombs planted by Finn et al have begun to explode and Snoke has fled his throne room. Rey, who has been weakned by Snoke, is fighting the Praetorian Guards with whom Kylo has his own grudge to settle. Snoke is not immediately aware that Kylo helps Rey escape.

    9. An unidenified force user helps Finn and Rose escape from the police on Canto Bight, but they aren’t aware that they’ve received his/her assistance. This being’s identity will not be revealed until IX.

    10. When Kylo enters the cave on Crait, he is trying to convince his mother to come with him before she is destroyed. At that point, the battle is lost, and the FO is bombarding the planet with orbital strikes. Rey steps in to challenge him, but he doesn’t want to fight her. Leia leaves with her son. Not entirely clear whether Kylo and Leia escape alive.

    11. At the end of the film, Finn, not Poe, looks the Resistance’s leader of the future.

    12. Closing scene is Luke finally leaving Ach-To in his old X-Wing.

I predict that Leia will reveal to Kylo Ren that she and Han were his adoptive parents, and Luke left him with them in infancy because he found the task of establishing a new Jedi Order to be more pressing (or other reasons). I also predict that Leia won't make it out. I predict that she might have given up on Kylo and try to take him out after all he's done: he might remind her too much of Darth Vader now.

    - Rey's parentage - she's random, born to First Order parents and identified by Snoke to be his dark side apprentice, but then stolen away from him, leading him to go after Ben instead. Could be she's some kind of prophesied "harbinger," destined to destroy the last Jedi.
(though I have to admit that, after being convinced she isn't a Skywalker for two years, I do now think it's very much a possibility)

    - Luke - a redemptive arc, letting go of his fears about Rey and learning to trust her.

    - Leia - doesn't die.

    - Opening - evacuation of D'Qar.

    - No funeral for Han.

    - Snoke is just Snoke.

    - No "grey Jedi" nonsense.

    - Rey and Kylo - Kylo has lost faith in Snoke's training, as it's not giving him the clarity he wants; Rey comes to believe that killing Snoke would free Kylo from the mental hold Snoke has on him, because she feels the same thing creeping into her mind; they join together to kill Snoke and actually manage to do it, but then Kylo claims the throne of the First Order for himself and offers Rey the chance to rule with him, which she rejects.

    - No Reylo, but people see what they want to see so the fighting will go on for another two years, wheeeeeeee!

    - No Mustafar, and the only Force ghost will be Yoda, who arrives at a crucial time to convince Luke to get back into the fight. We might hear Ewan, Alec and Hayden in a babble of Force-voices.

    - We're barking up the wrong tree by expecting Rian Johnson to rewrite the rules of the Force, the Jedi, the prophecy of the chosen one, etc. He might build on those things, but he's also said TLJ won't change the way we look at the old movies, and he seems more interested in the psychological states and feelings of these particular characters than in tearing up the rule book.

Rey and Kylo are not related.
The shocking reveal (or one of them) will be a catalyst for developing Rey and Kylo's relationship.
Their relationship will have romantic overtones.
    It will be "awesome."
The ending will be very dark.

-they will 'end' the Jedi as we know it by changing their philosophy or creating a 'grey' Jedi based on ancient force lore cause Disney thinks Star Wars needs an update.
-George Lucas haters will praise the new direction as brilliant and provocative.
-the writers will fail to provide a believable reason as to how Rey went from 0 to Jedi mind tricks in no time flat in episode VII.
-I will not like this movie for the exact reasons listed above.
-people will disagree with me even though they cannot provide an objective reason why.

    I hope I'm wrong though.
