The second half of 2010 (July and on) is starting to shape up.

InConJunction July 2-4 (Indianapolis) Join our very own members of The Dark Empire as they expand their empire to the North.
    http://www.inconjunction.org/

Fright Night Film Fest July 30-August 1st (Louisville) No real Star Wars tie-ins but it's local and pretty decent if you're into horror.
    http://www.frightnightfilmfest.com/

Gen Con August 5-8 (Indianapolis) The grand daddy of the local cons. If you're into gaming this is a must. I've never been but I hear costuming is starting to grow at this con and they're expanding their programming a little beyond gaming in recent years.
    http://www.gencon.com/2010/indy/default.aspx

Star Wars Celebration V August 12-15 (Orlando) See other thread(s). 'Nuff said.

Nashville Comic-Con September 25-26 (Nashville) Special guest Anthony Forrest...if you miss him at CV catch up with him here. Con is located across from the Gaylord which suffered a lot of damage in the recent flooding so I wouldn't make firm plans until closer to the con date.

Light the Night Walk October 2nd (Louisville) See the planing thread.
    http://pages.lightthenight.org/ky/Louisvil10/DarkEmpireStarWarsFans

Halloween Parade October 10 (Louisville) Still time to plan and decide if we want to take part.
    http://www.baxterparade.com/Halloween_Parade_2010/index.html

That's all I have for now. Feel free to add to the thread any other events that may pop up.

Looks like I will be able to "Sith" at all of these except Gencon because it is so close to CV. And my votes still in for the Halloween Parade! [face_pumpkin]

Appo and I are definitely doing InConjunction in Indy.
Possibly Gencon, at least on Saturday. I know that Wraithen is going.
The Halloween thing is a must.

OH! When is the Zombie night thing going on this year? Anyone know?

And of coarse we are attending the Light The Night Walk.

Those things are for sure. Other than that... we've got nothing but Celebration on the brain. LOL!! [face_batting]

Came across this one in a round about way. Was looking to see what midnight movies are playing at the Baxter (was hoping for some Star Wars or Superman-no luck) and I saw that they?re playing ?Serenity? later in the Summer. For those that don?t know it ?Serenity? was the big screen follow up to the canceled Fox (?natch!) sci-fi TV series ?Firefly? (check it out if you haven?t). I?m a big fan so I wondered if there were any other local fans. I didn?t find any local boards but I did find WhedonitesUnited which seems to be centered around Nashville. They?re having an event in Kentucky August 6-8th which is not really a con but kinda sorta? It appears to be more of a weekend camping shindig with con-like activities (workshops, movie screening, costume contest) that centers on Joss Whedon?s work?Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Serenity, Dollhouse and Dr Horrible. Pretty unconventional but it?s also for charity...?Can?t Stop the Serenity?. Early plans are for me to attend. I don?t do real well living in close conditions with strangers but I think it will be fun to network with some fellow Browncoats and indulge in another of my fandoms.

And FYI I did find Superman playing this Summer at the Iroquois Amphitheater

I floated some Halloween ideas last night at our Airbender meetup and I thought I would share them with the rest of the group.

Saturday Oct 30 is Pumpkinfest in Franklin TN. I've never been but it's a street festival type thing that starts in the morning and people get in costume and walk around. The local Imps and Rebels usually go to it so you know it must be a good time. Maybe something we want to try.

Sunday October 31 I thought we might get together at my place and get dressed up Star Wars style and give the neighborhood trick or treaters a thrill.

A long ways off but something to think about.

How far in hours is Franklin Tn? This could be fun. And we're all for the Halloween gathering at your place. [face_batting]

That's a little bit of a drive. But, we have some time, so we'll see. It sounds nice tho.. very homey and I know there would be lots of home grown and good food there. A nice way to end ones fall, with food prepared from a fall harvest of delights! I really love these kinds of festivals, and we haven't been to one in forever. [face_batting]

Looks like Anthony Forrest is no longer on the guest list for Nashville Comic Con. No real reason to go now. Too bad since he wasn't at CV I was hoping to get my new "Fixer" figure signed.

I'm sorry to hear that Mika. However, the Pumpkin fest is looking good for us. [face_batting]
