I don't know if anyone remembers the green guard droid that was on board The Roon Clipper in the 12th Droids episode Across the Roon Sea, but he looks to me like he could be a descendant of the B1 battle droid from the prequels. There is enough of a Geonosian similarity there too (color, structure of legs) to make it seem plausible that this could be a Geonosian construction. Of course since Droids came out in 1985, whoever would have designed this character would have never heard of Battle Droids or Geonosians, but it's still kind of fun to think about how he could connect to the modern saga. Does anyone know if this droid has ever been given an official designation? I'm guessing that there is no established back story for this model of droid. I can't even find him on Wookieepedia. Maybe if the Essential Guide to Droids gets updated again some sort of connection could be made.

    Wow, good find, haha.

It does resemble a Battle Droid!

Unfortunately, I've never seen the Droids series, so I can't help you with your question.

Could be. There are enough Battle Droid variants lying around that there could easily be more.

No official info so far as I know. Droids is under-cataloged in general, and background characters like that are forgotten even in well cataloged works.

Interesting, it's like the Muuns showing up in the Boba Fett cartoon from the Holiday Special.

Yes, that Security Droid really looks like a B1 variant. Could perfectly be a spin-off series that wasn't shut down at the end of the Clone Wars. But alas, it is one of the many aspects of the Droids cartoons that has never been mentioned or given a name.

Here's my own 'encyclopedia' about named characters, species, Droids, ships, etc... in Droids:

It's too bad so many droids and alien races from the Droids TV series still don't have a name or a story to go along with them. I'm hoping that the Essential Guide to Droids will get an update again and add characters like this green guard droid and the many unidentified astromech models from The Great Heep.
