Part 2: Farewell

Tenel Ka woke up dazed and confused. She was lying in a warm, cozy bed, yes, but it wasn?t her own. Her tanned, firm skin was dotted with bacta patches. Ah, now it was coming back to her. Wait! She was still in her traveling clothing. Speaking of traveling, where was Riley? Master Durron? Was she the only one here, in this sky blue room, dotted with sea green splotches?

She got up and noticed a note on the datapad next to her on a night table painted the same hideous green. In her urbane but dreadfully scorched gown, Tenel Ka reached for it. It flashed the message in bright red: PRESS WHEN YOU AWAKEN, QUEEN MOTHER DJO.

Cautiously, she pressed the designated button.

Don?t ever say never

Riley cowered in the corner of Orosca?s bedroom, her head between her knees, shaking in fright, which in turn caused the shackles binding her wrists and ankles to the wall to rattle.

She had no recollection of how long she?d huddled there, her shiny blonde hair dull and oily from lack of washing, and her face stained with tears.

?Ms. Tygan. There, there. No need to be afraid, doll.?

Riley?s electric blue eyes lit up as if lightning had struck within her soul.

?Don?t ever call me doll.?

I swear that I?ll return

Leia ran her hands through the dark hair of her son. Unlike Zekk?s, which was cut in a flat shag, Anakin?s was trimmer than she?d expected. Then she thought amusingly, //Tahiri wouldn?t have let him stay that way for long, knowing her.//. It was good to have those two back to normal.

?Oh, my baby, my baby.? She murmured, brushing away tears that clung to her wavy hair.

Han cried as well, light tears running down his cheeks. His strong arms enveloped his son, just wanting to touch Anakin again, to feel that he was truly alive.

Tahiri wiped away tears as Luke embraced her warmly.

?Oh, Master Luke, I wish I had a family!? she wept heartbrokenly.

?You do, my dear. Uncle Luke?s right here.?

Ben put his arms around his mommy?s neck, letting her own tears tumble down into his hair. He had a tranquil look on his face as he watched the little green man and a new older man with a white beard and beige and brown robes smile over the reunited family.

Leia reluctantly let go of Anakin for a moment to hit her twin on the shoulder.

?Why didn?t you tell me he was here??

Luke let go of Tahiri with only one arm, putting around the other woman.

?It was going to be a surprise?but things kept coming up.?

Leia looked into his true blue eyes. ?I wish you?d told me, Luke.?

?I?m sorry, Leia. Forgive me??

She pretended to size him up for a moment. ?Well?oh, of course!?

She gave him a quick peck on the cheek. Han, an arm around Anakin?s shoulders, feigned a scowl. ?Again with the kissing??

Leia made a face at her husband. ?He?s my brother, and you know it.?

Mara spoke up, something that, as a newcomer still to the family and their talk of older times, she didn?t do very often. Unless she had something important to say.

?Since we?re all, uh, unleashing, umm, surprises?I have something to, err, say.?

Luke turned to face her, releasing his sister and niece-to-be. Was something troubling her? He put his arms lovingly around his wife, and her tears began flooding down.

?I?I?m??

Cause my love for you is a candle

?Riley, isn?t it? C?mon, I won?t hurt you, baby.?

The stench of aged ale lingered on Orosca?s breath. His orange, fiery eyes burned with a desire that infuriated the travel maiden.

?Get away from me!? she spat.

Clammy, pale hands brushed hair from her eyes and lifted her chin. The chains that held her arms above her rattled as she fought desperately to move away?

And oh, how it burns

?I?I?m?? she continued to stutter, looking around her almost fearfully.

?Mara Jade Skywalker, we?re all family here.? Leia soothed. ?You can tell us anything.?

?No, no I can?t! It?s awful, really. It was an accident, to be sure!?

Her husband clutched her shoulder, giving her the courage she needed to

AHHHHHHHHHHH you left the perfect cliffhanger for the next story. Great post! Poor jag, poor Riley, poor kyp, poor everyone. Except mara, yeah mara! and a new baby!
