    Legacy of the Guardians.

The official Guardians of Light RPG. (All players/new players welcome)

Ten years after the end of the Shadow War, the Guardians of Light have determined that it is the way of the galaxy, and the will of the force, for the eternal conflict between the light and dark side to continue. The Jedi Order will always be a target and another purge of their ranks whether in 5 years or 500 is inevitable. The Guardians will take it as their sacred duty to follow the light, protect the light, be Guardians of the Light. To do this, they will operate in the shadows.

Their Temple is hidden, known only to those who the force has brought to it, and hidden it shall remain. So too will the Guardians of Light remain hidden. They will conduct their missions in secrecy, operating under no authority but their own. They will remain unknown to the Galactic Triumvirate, and their existence will only a rumor whispered about among the New Jedi Order. It is only through secrecy that they ensure their survival. But they will not remain frightened behind Temple walls. They will go out and explore the Galaxy, bringing back new recruits, new treasures and possibly new dangers. They will seek out the forces of darkness and engage them in secret, foiling their plans behind closed doors before those that would fall are even aware of their existence. They will intrude upon ancient Sith Temples, and raid Sith tombs in order to secure their dark artifacts from future generations of Darksiders. For to deny the darkness is to guard the light. They will do all of this and more, for they are...

    ...the Guardians of Light

The Setting: 156 ABY, a part of the Legends Universe, ten years after the events in Shadow War: Times End.

The Temple of Light: Located on the temperate, and uncharted world, of Saridona Prime the Temple of Light serves as home to the Guardians of Light. From this secret and secure hidden Temple the Guardians listen to the call of the Force and conduct their missions. Over the past decade the Guardians have undergone a resurgence in their numbers. Where but once they were but a handful, now nearly a thousand masters, Knights and padawan learners roam the halls of the Temple. Led by the Council of Light, their numbers are further supplemented by Security (200 beings) and Logistics (350 beings plus a large pool of droids) divisions. More about those and our setting can be found in the LotG Resource thread.

The Guardians of Light are an offshoot branch of the New Jedi Order who sought to separate themselves from the mainline Jedi prior to the Sith-Imperial War. Their numbers have waxed and waned over the decades, but through the will of the force they have endured. Now new crises confront them as they explore their own past and fight for the future, cementing their own secret Legacy as they become the stuff of Legends.

    :bluesaber::greensaber::bluesaber:

Welcome folks to our new game. Set roughly two decades after the last Legends material explored, we will continue to traverse the late Legacy era of what was once called the Expanded Universe. This will be an open ended game, running for as long as we are able to carry it forth with new players and ideas. I do have some over arching plot elements that will be revealed as the game goes along, but primarily the game will consist of "mission blocks", with characters achieving limited goals for a set mission before returning to the Temple of Light for downtime, training, character growth and the like before another mission is thrust upon them.

    :bluesaber::greensaber::bluesaber:

    The Rules.

    1) Please follow the RPF Rules and be mindful of the Terms of Service and Rules of the Jedi Council Forums.

    2) No God modding or auto-hitting.

    3) Game Master's word is law.

    4) All character sheets must be PMed (Private Message) to the GM (Bardan_Jusik) for approval. This includes players who wish to reprise their characters from the previous game.

    5) This game is the official RPG of the EUC's Jedi fanclub, the Guardians of Light. However, membership in that fanclub is not a prerequisite for playing. Still players should be aware that Out-of-Game and/or Out-of-Character discussions and questions regarding the game may be discussed there. A separate Legacy of the Guardians Resource thread will be set up in the Role Playing Resource Forum to act as our library thread.

    6) Posting expectations: Barring unforeseen circumstances all tags should be replied to within a week (7 days). I plan on GM updates for the game on a weekly basis. Real life always takes precedence over online happy online fun pretendy time though, so if something comes up and you're able, let the GM and other players know that you'll be absent (I know sometimes even that isn't possible though). If you miss any tags, I will continue to tag you and your character for the duration of your character's current assignment, afterwards your character will be quietly dropped from the game (though they can return at a later date).

    7) All major storylines (a storyline that affects the game as a whole) must have prior approval by the GM via PM. If you have an idea, please PM it to me and we'll work together to flesh it out and get it into the game. I enjoy getting news ideas to add to the fabric we're weaving, so if you have them, send them.

    8) For the time being I am restricting Player Characters to Jedi/Members of the GoL (in game, not the EUC fanclub :p, this game is open to everyone), their associated security and logistics divisions or characters that will soon be joining any of those organizations.

    9) Have fun, and may the force be with you.

Optional secondary character: Going to experiment here with something a bit new, though it's not all that uncommon for some players to run two characters simultaneously. I am going to encourage (but not require, I don't want people to take on a workload they are uncomfortable with) players to come up with a second NPC character that will be under their exclusive (aside from GM action) control. These "secondary characters" will exist to help flesh out your primary characters throughout the game and from past experience allow for a bit more levity and fun than our primary characters can sometimes provide. As secondary characters you must provide some connection for them to your Primary character. Examples would include a padawan to a Knight or Master (or conversely a master to a padawan character), a "force ghost" adviser, a family member and the like. The sky is the limit here, so feel free to be as creative as you wish. The Character Sheet for a "secondary character" follows. Note, I don't expect these secondary characters to be as "fleshed out" as your primary, but feel free to add as much detail as you like.

    Skin Color: Fair
    Clothing: Mandalorian armor

    Personal History:

    Spouse/Children: A son and a daughter.
    Biography:

Born in 100 ABY, Taab became a mercenary at 13. He never really cared who he worked for or what the job was, so long as it paid on time. In 127ABY he took the order from new mand'alor Yaga Auchs to not get involved in the Sith-Imperial War as loosely as possible. As such he continued to take out bounties on individual Jedi, Imperial Knights as well as minor Sith, among others, though he never technically participated in the war. A father and grandfather, his biological son is a test pilot for MandalMotors, his daughter a Mandalorian Protector working directly for Auchs' successor, mand'alor Hondo Karr. Beskaryc's wife became ill in 136 ABY, so he went to be at her side and work the family farm. She died ten years later and he left Manda'yaim to take on a mysterious job protecting an unknown Jedi Temple on an uncharted world near Chiss Space. This led to the events of the Shadow War where Taab learned to accept the Jedi as equals.

Following completion of that assignment Taab stayed on at the Temple for personal (and unknown to the rest of the Jedi professional) reasons in his capacity as Head of Temple Security. Over the past decade he has come no closer to his goal of tracking down the two Sith who escaped the Temple of Light at the end of the Shadow War. The search for these Sith has become almost an obsession with him.

    Miscellaneous:

Lightsaber: Numerous lightsaber trophies from his days as a Jedi Hunter. One of these is the Darksaber (taken from Darth Harbinger upon his capture.)
    --Blade Type:
    --Blade Color:
    --Saber Amount: six
Combat Forms: Not trained in the use of a lightsaber, he may be able to melee a similarly untrained individual but these are primarily trophies though they could be pressed into service as cutting tools. Only carries one at a time on his belt.

Strong Area of the Force: No force connection
Weak Area of the Force: No force connection
    Pets: None
Weapons: Normally carries a standard Mandalorian blaster carbine and a pair of Westar-35 blaster pistols. Beskar'gam is festooned with numerous weapons including wrist rockets, dart launchers, flamethrower, gauntlet mounted blaster, fibercord whip, arm mounted replusor generator, crush gaunts, plasma shield, jetpack (with warhead launcher), various extendable blades, etc. Also carries a bes'bev that belonged to his late wife.
Starship: J-1 shuttle: the Unneccesary Force. Bes'uliik starfighter stored in the shuttle's cargo bay: Adenn
Droid: Several YVH droids assigned to Temple security are under his personal command/control

    Personal History:
Immediate Family:Jurayton and Sayar Avarray (Parents)
    Spouse/Children: None
Biography:Rak was born into a family of travelers that survived by their wits moving from planet to planet with no real plan or strategy. Everywhere they went felt right to Rak, like they were supposed to be there. As he grew older he felt himself pulled in different directions from his parents, Jurayton and Sayar, often wandering kilometers or even parsecs away from them. His parents taught him some hand to hand fighting, blaster shooting and, an oddity to him at the time, vibrosword fighting. Sometimes in their travels the Avarray family would take to light thievery to get by but, they always stole from those who could afford the loss. When Rak’s own travels began to take him far away from his parents they decided to part ways. This was not an easy thing for either party to do but, it was time the young man traveled on his own.

How he ended up on Saridona Prime is a bit of a mystery, he was again following his feelings, it just felt like he should head that way. When he arrived his ship suddenly lost power, how this happened he's not entirely sure, he might have not kept enough fuel in it or not kept it in good repair. Either way he crashed possibly with the aid of the force near the Temple of Light. He was recovered shaking in the cold and was offered a place to stay within the temple. His meager possessions were a tea set, a hammock and two weapons, a vibrodagger with a rather complex handguard and a dueling vibrosword. He was given a room and decided to spend the night, one night turned into two and so on, he never felt the need to leave.

The offer was made to him to begin training as a Guardian of Light. Something inside him clicked, yes, it felt right, that's why he couldn't leave, he needed to be trained, as a Jedi. All this time what he thought was just following his heart was him being led by the Force and it brought him here. He learned much during his training but, never let go of his independent streak. His master saw in him a dedication to the spirit of the Jedi if not a strict adherence to traditions, which could also lead to trouble. His name was put forth for Knighthood which he happily undertook, coming out the other side victorious.

He is rarely if ever at the temple always away doing this or that. He has been called the Guardian’s Vagabond Knight for how much he travels. He doesn’t mind, he loves traveling, getting to see the galaxy. Though it means many of the newer members have never seen his face. Again this doesn’t bother him, he likes meeting new people.

    General Information:
    Character's Name: Semajj Nosrep
    Species: Ongree
    Gender: Male
    Rank/Affiliation: Jedi Knight; GOL
    Languages: Galactic Basic, Ongreenen, Huttese
    Residence: Temple of Light
    Home Planet: Skustell
    Age: 28

    Character Traits:
Personality: Semajj is quiet and reserved. He prefers diplomacy to action, and dislikes doing anything without having a plan in place. He is hesitant to act without thinking, and dislikes change. Those he knows best he might enjoy bantering with; only his best of friends, those he considers like family. People he is acquainted with he will be polite to, and those he considers his superiors he will look up to with extreme respect. If he does not know someone he is unlikely to strike up a conversation with them, and he has an immense distaste for Sith whom he has a habit of looking down upon with contempt.
Habits/Mannerisms: He has a habit of rubbing a scar on his chin when in deep thought, and tends to muse to himself when he thinks nobody is listening.
Likes: Logic, Compassion, Respect for Authority, Politeness, Truthfulness, Long Term Thinking, Humility, Intelligence, Wisdom, Being realistic.
Dislikes: Cruelty, Brashness, Thoughtlessness, Disrespectfulness, Looking down on others (Except Sith), being unrealistic, Blind idealism, being rude, or just mean for no reason.
Racial Traits: Two movable eye stalks that allow him to see multiple angles at once. Gills so he can breath under water. Two thick fingers and thumbs on each hand that permit him to hold objects with unusual delicate precision. Double jointed knees.
    Strengths and Weaknesses:
Physical Strength and Weaknesses: He is Physically capable, and his relative youth works in his favor as well. Though as he is not much of a warrior he relies on the force more than his actual body. His focus is more on the mind than anything, and while he works to stay healthy, he does not go the extra mile beyond that. He is satisfied with how he is now, and has no incentive to try to improve in strength.

    Looks:
Appearance: Semajj is a typical Ongree, with a spotty orange skin, a triangular head that may appear upside down to other species, a lipless mouth, and small teeth. He is beginning to grow small tentacles that pass for facial hair among his people, broad shoulders, and a scar on his chin which he received on his first mission facing the Sith.
    Picture:

    Eye Color: Blue
    Hair/Fur: N/A
    Skin Color: Orange
Clothing: He maintains a modest appearance, a traditional beige Jedi tunic, and multiple robes, one of which once belonged to Master Luke Skywalker, passed down to him from his own master. Though he usually only wears it on formal occasions.

    Personal History:
Immediate Family: Unknown, most likely still on Skustell.
Spouse/Children: He considers himself married to the order and as of now has no plans to marry, or sire kids.

Biography: Semajj was born on Skustell in 130 BBY. His people were very isolationist by nature and were, for the most part, ignored by the greater galaxy. Which served them well during the reign of the one Sith.
Semajj remembers little of this time, mostly feelings of love, and belonging.

The Ongree hold the force in in high regard, and that respect applied to the Jedi as well. Though they have largely stayed independent of the central galactic government since the fall of the old Republic they have kept close ties to the Jedi. And by Semajj's second year they began to suspect he held an affinity for the force. But for reasons they were unsure of they were unable to reach any Jedi via the channels they traditionally used. This led to concern, and determined to protect their young force adept they kept his potential a secret for the next three years.

However when Semajj just turned five a new hope came to them. A Jedi had come to Skustell, and this Jedi informed his people of the recent terrible events that had destroyed the main Jedi order. The Ongree mourned their comrades, but were happy to hear of another order that existed in the Unknown regions. This Jedi promised to take him to them, and the Ongree granted him leave to do so.

Unfortunately it seemed events did not turn out as clear cut as they initially planned. These Jedi were undergoing changes of their own as well. Time passed, and Semajj moved around a lot. Receiving rudimentary training from various sources, he doesn't even remember most of it, at least not in detail. It was a frantic time for him, spending maybe only a few weeks on any given planet at a time, and maybe only a year at most under any given master. All while he was just a kid himself. It made him crave stability.

It wasn't until he was a teenager that he even stepped foot in the Temple of Light, and he felt an instant connection to it. He was home. Finally he began real training, spending the remainder of his adolescent years learning as a Padawan under Knight Rak Avarray, before he went off on one of his vagabond excursions. It was during that time the Padawan had his first run in with the Sith. He Survived, but the experience left a deep mark on him, which he will never forget.

Following this he finished his training under a new Master, built his personal lightsaber, and was knighted. A Jedi Consular, Diplomat, and Guardian of Light. Willing to stand up for what he knew to be right.

    Miscellaneous:

    Lightsaber:
--Blade Type: Single Traditional lightsaber. It is inlayed with the teeth of a Cartusion Whale and Bore Wolf. The first of which came from his homeworld, and second of which was provided by Master Kasumi after his first mission. One sea creature, one land creature, two symbolize his own duel nature.
    --Blade Color: Green
    --Saber Amount: One
Combat Forms: Soresu, and Shien. Defense is core to Semajj, but he is capable of turning his enemies blasts against them.
Strong Area of the Force: He is capable with telekinesis, and has a strong connection with the living force so that he might sense anothers' thoughts easier than most. He also has a great connection with animals, and a natural talent for the beast tamer ability.
Weak Area of the Force:He lacks skill in force assisted acrobatics. He is slightly better than the average being of his species, and given time to channel the force he can do so about as well as any other Jedi, but he can't do so on a moments notice.
Pets: One small Goober fish he keeps in his room and calls Red. (Despite it being blue)
    Weapons: Just his lightsaber
Starship (if any): Non descript Jedi Starfighter he maintains for space mission.
Droid (if any): R4-B4 No personality quirks to speak of. He keeps its memory scrubbed clean of all nonessential commodities.

    Residence: Saridona, at the moment
Home Planet: Corlan, an ancient colony of Corellia, a poor world going through hard times
Age: Half a century, more or less. Probably more.
Approved Special Features: Too cool for words.

    Character Traits:
Personality: Self-described "damn fool idealistic crusader," he's old and experienced enough to limit the fool part. Been there, done that, got a closet full of T-shirts. Good-natured and easy-going most of the time, always ready with a quip to lighten the mood, but he can be serious when needed. Personality can easily shift to match the clothes he's wearing at the moment.
Habits/Mannerisms: After 20 years marooned on a medieval world, he sometimes slips into outdated speech patterns and customs. Doesn't have a great voice, but sings old songs anyway.
Likes/Dislikes: Loves swordplay, flying, and building things. Dislikes paperwork, lectures, mean people, and the horrible noise that kids call music these days.
Racial Traits: White man's privilege? No, how about white man's burden. o_O (Not serious, just trying to fill in all the blanks.)
Strengths and Weaknesses: Stays calm in danger. He's lived through things you wouldn't believe, attack ships on fire off Orion's shoulder, C-beams glittering in the dark near the Tannheuser Gate, etc. Doesn't have much patience when confronted with injustice.
Physical Strengths and Weaknesses: Strong and very fit for his age. Likes to go for long runs in the open when he's planetside, long swims, daily calisthenics, and sword drills. Doesn't bounce back from the aches and pains as fast as the youngsters.

    Skin Color: fair
Clothing: Padawan garb at the temple, flight suits for flying, mechanic coveralls for mechanicking, plate armor for special occasions.

    Personal History:
Immediate Family: Lost contact with parents years ago; they weren't there when he last visited Corlan.
    Spouse/Children: Never married.
Biography: Born to a poor family on Corlan. Enlisted in the local military, trained as cargo shuttle mechanic and flight engineer, many combat missions in planetary civil war, discharged after 6 years service. Got a job maintaining antique aircraft at Corellian museum and learned to pilot aeroplanes, until museum shut down for bogus big government safety regulations. A few hungry months as a freelance ship tech, then signed aboard scout ship Gypsy Rover as mechanic/copilot/first mate, mostly scouting new hyperspace routes. Crashed on medieval world of Avantooine, marooned there 20 years, learned heavy armored sword and shield combat, smithing, rapier fencing, and sailing ships. When another starship crashed, he used parts from his old wreck to fix it and return to the "civilized" galaxy at large. Used the ship for charters & courier deliveries until he found himself at the Enclave and joined the Guardians.

    Lightsaber:
    --Blade Type:

    Personal History:

    Immediate Family: Unknown
    Spouse/Children: Unknown…Likely None
Biography: As Kraahn is more outgoing than the vast majority of his kin, he has ventured out to make contact with the Jedi Order after being trained in the ways of the Light Side of the Force from a roaming Jedi Knight.

Yet knowing his people are highly reclusive, he does not want to infringe upon their feelings and thus tells no one of his home world. Or his age for that matter. That one was more personal.

His training and mindset were quite reminiscent of the one other known tchuukthai Force User. Thon. This is intentional as he learned much about him when discussing Jedi history in his tutelage in the Light. Becoming enamored of the first of his kin to become a Jedi as well as being so well known and powerful, he styled himself heavily after his teachings. Even going so far as to make his master traverse the galaxy to find what scattered stories remained of him so he could further his emulation of the great Thon's style.

Eventually, he was deemed ready and his master left for parts unknown while he found his way timidly into the greater galaxy. His earliest adventures were varied and often rocky at best, but he learned much. In time, he came to the Jedi Order fully and took part in further training and aiding them throughout the galaxy and finally earned the rank of Master over some years.

In time, Kraahn felt a strong pull in the Force and abruptly left to follow it to its source, putting together an expedition among Light Siders who also felt it and were willing to join. Becoming its leader, he helped lead them and the Pegasus to Saridona Prime just in time to rescue the Guardians of Light from the exploding Star Destroyer: the Hellfire.

Knowing it was their destiny to be there and heed the will of the Force, he accepted the invitation of joining the Guardians of Light afterward.

A new chapter in his life had begun.

When your species has been locked in a battle for survival with a more technologically advanced race that likes to eat you as a delicacy tends to cause a very nomadic and resistance based life style that does not leave much room for a true childhood.

Albeit Force sensitive he was not able to receive any formal training until he followed a call that had been a whisper since first remembering, a call to leave. The Jedi were scattered to the four corners of the galaxy, just beginning to pull themselves together after the war, and the sith despite their obvious appeal seemed too much like the very thing his people had fought against since first recorded history.

He traveled to the Zeison Sha on Yanibar, but although he finally was able to receive some instruction and begin to learn the truth, after just a few short years he left. The voice was still calling him, and by finally following it into the darkness of the Unknown regions he found the Guardians of Light. There as an apprentice to Master Hochner Trevalus he was trained from Padawan and eventually unto Knighthood. Stepping to the role of a Sentinel, bringing all he had learned beyond the organizations and his childhood in the shadows, to bring light to them. To drag the secrets of the vile and the wicked into the light.

    Home Planet: Vernet
Age: appears 28, but is significantly older chronologically (276).
    Approved Special Features:

    Character Traits:
Personality: Josch is a playful soul. He is always quick to strike up a conversation, especially with a female. He has been labeled as a trickster, but he doesn’t agree with that assessment. Due to his longevity, time is not a concern for him.
Habits/Mannerisms: Doesn’t like to sit in one place for too long. If he is sitting still, he is usually playing the Deej Pipe that his Ewok friend, Logray, gave to him when he lived on Endor. When meditating he prefers to have the sounds of nature in the background so that he can concentrate, but no longer needs it since learning from Master Lahana.
Likes/Dislikes: He likes music, berries, a good joke, and the smile of a beautiful lady. He is hesitant when it comes to battledroids and Bothans, in his life he has witnessed both being underhanded. He uses droids and computers when they are the ideal tools to be utilized. But he typically perfers natural things to synthetics.
Racial Traits: Pointed ears that are able to hear slightly better. Longevity with retained youthfulness.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Josch is a strong member of a team, however most leaders find him difficult to work with because of his playful nature.
Physical Strengths and Weaknesses: When he was younger he was not able to lift heavy weights and could not run for long distances or over long periods of time without being aided by the force. But he was able to overcome this natural handicap because of his half-human physiology and through physical training with the various military and paramilitary organizations he joined through his lifetime. By 136 ABY, a 6 kilometer, cross-country run was a part of his morning routine.

    Looks:
Appearance: Josch stands at 5’ 9” tall and weighs 179 lbs. He proudly displays the pointed ears that distinguish his ancestry. His skin is lightly tanned by spending most of his time in or under a tree. His hands appear to be delicate, but are as tough as leather. His skin is smooth and unremarkable.
    Picture:
    Eye Color: Deep, piercing Blue
Hair/Fur: Dirty blonde hair, collar length, with long bangs.
    Skin Color: Lightly tanned
Clothing: Wears a tan shirt with matching pants, a dark green tunic adorned with an elaborate dark brown stitch work. His robes, though he rarely wears them, are a dark brown with black stitch work on edges that matches his tunic. His bantha-hide boots match the color of his robes.

He always wore a standard Jedi field utility belt complete with an A88 Aquata Breather, a beacon transceiver, compressed-air grappling hook, imagecaster, nutrient capsules, a glow rod, and lightsaber repair tools. He also carried a smuggler's scrambler enhanced Hush-98 comlink that was synced with a wrist link and an earbud comlink. There was an additional pouch on his belt in which he carried a small silver flask that contained his favorite caf additive, Erphaean spiced rum.

    Personal History:
Immediate Family: Adopted father is former Jedi Knight and Baron Protectorate of Notrevlis Scath Foumi of Vernet. His biological parents died before he could meet them, but he knew who they were. Cousin is Voj Velkin.
Spouse/Children: Miria Lahana (estranged wife) Keira Colias (daughter by Fress Colias)
    Biography:
He was turned over to the royal protector as a child and taught basic Force techniques by his adopted father. Was taken to Kashyyyk and trained by a Jedi in hiding there in dual lightsaber combat. Left Kashyyyk with traders to explore the galaxy. He then took up residence on Endor for a long time. Fled Endor and joined the MERC Fighter-Interceptor Squadron. Had a crush on one fellow pilot (Aurora Cradmoon), and fell in love with another (Fress Colias). Skirted the dark side of the Force searching for a lost family member (Brice Colias). Hunted with a squadron of Shadow Sabers. Felt the Force calling him to the Temple of Light. Trained under and became infatuated with Miria Lahana. Left Saridona Prime and joined the Galactic Alliance Remnant Starfighter Corps. He flew in the Sith-Imperial War with Rogue Squadron. Then he felt pulled back to the Temple of Light. He helped rebuild the Guardians of Light, married his fellow Grandmaster (Miria Lahana). He left the Temple to seek out a way to find his lost connection to the Force.

During his journey back to Vernet, his connection to the Force waned to the point of non-existence. Not only was his connection to the Force nearly gone, so to his connection to his new bride. She cautioned that she saw, in her mind, the light within him being swallowed by a dark malevolence. Josch refused to believe her and insisted that it was her paranoia about her past relationships. After landing on Vernet the rift between Josch and Miria grew to a point of near devastation. In the middle of the night, Miria stole away in the Orywn’s Claw, mere months after arriving. She left Josch a note which he carries with him to this day.

Keira cautioned her father against running after Miria, citing his near fall to the darkness when he chased after Brice. She explained that she too could feel a darkness coming for him, whether it was from within or without she could not tell. Josch felt that by staying away from the dark crystal, which may have infected him, was the best course of action, but after ten years of trying to keep his sanity, he knew he needed to return to the one place in the galaxy that was his refuge of light… The Temple of Light.

    General Information:

    Character's Name: Liuna Iotasi
    Species: Mirialan
    Gender: Female
    Rank/Affiliation: Jedi Sentinel
Languages: Basic, Huttese, Wookiee (understood), Sullustese (understood), small amounts of Binary
    Residence: Blind Strike
    Home Planet: Chandrila
    Age: 26
Approved Special Features: Stealth field generator

    Character Traits:
Personality: Liuna has the nature of someone with an outgoing personality who has been forced to keep a low profile and has taken on some traits of the introverted. While she naturally prefers working with others, her Force vision driven task has taken her to such dangers that she doesn’t feel comfortable bringing allies along, and has found few friends along the way, leaving her with only her astromech Jinx as a regular companion. Thus she is often restless, wanting to speak her mind to someone she trusts but finding herself coming up short. However, when scouting her next quarry, she is anything but restless, often getting caught up in the thrill of the hunt but rarely so distracted that she gives herself away. Despite the grey nature of her morality and the way she cloaks herself in shadows to complete her task, Liuna can be very honest and friendly, especially if she were to find herself among true allies again. Her biggest hindrance is that she is unaware of the grey area she operates in, and thinks instead that she is following the true path of a Jedi.
Habits/Mannerisms: Will talk to her astromech, Jinx, when no one else is available; has a bad habit of leaping from tall buildings or moving speeders to get to a target or location; tends to spy on people to learn about them before approaching
Likes/Dislikes: Likes high speed chases, one on one battles, trading stories over a good drink and meal; dislikes discussions of morality, being made to feel weak or helpless, being confined
    Racial Traits: Nothing of note
Strengths and Weaknesses: Has picked up slicing skills and minor medical tricks, not particularly diplomatic, doesn’t have a lot of experience working with more than a couple other Jedi (both tactically and socially)
Physical Strengths and Weaknesses: Adept scout and with stealth on foot, strong combat skills in one-on-one duels or against blaster fire, less so against large numbers of enemies and untested against Sith, cybernetic left hand and forearm are naturally stronger than her real hand but is susceptible to some anti-droid defenses

    Looks:
Appearance: Liuna is not immediately identifiable as a Jedi, except for the lightsaber at her hip. Her long black hair is often unkempt and rarely tied up, except when shoved back into her hood. The tattoos on her face, common for Mirialans, frame her grey-blue eyes from below and above and her lips are a naturally dark shade against her yellow-green skin. While she often wears a scarf covering much of her face, there is often a twinkle in her eyes, matched by a quirk of her angled eyebrows. Liuna is fairly average in height and weight for her gender and species. Her left hand and forearm are obviously mechanical when bared, with no false skin overlay.
    Picture: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FFfN57bIAxg/VWG7uWzI_rI/AAAAAAAAJLA/0cmmvVe3SEU/s1600/JediShadow.jpg
    [IMG]

    Eye Color: Grey-blue
    Hair/Fur: Black, with blueish undertones
    Skin Color: Yellow-green
Clothing: Liuna keeps a dark palette, her clothes all soft to muffle any noise and tied securely to not get caught or tangled at an inopportune moment. While her outfit has elements of traditional Jedi robes, it is overall more practical. A dark hood disguises her features, a utility belt holds equipment close at hand, and tough gloves and boots help protect against minor injuries during acrobatics such as climbing buildings. Like most Mirialans, the cut of her outfit is conservative, covering all skin from neck to feet.

    Personal History:
Immediate Family: Parents and siblings unknown, considers the Padawans she grew up with as her siblings: Nae Dhes (male Sullustan), Sphira Rzeen (female Falleen) and Laro G'ol (male Bith). Hasn't been updated on their status in years but were comfortably living at their Enclave when she departed.
    Spouse/Children: None
    Biography:

From the idyllic agriworld of Chandrila, Liuna found the transition to Jedi youngling an easy one, secreted away—mostly—from Sith detection. Always eager to learn, she took to combat easily, even as she struggled with meditation and questions of philosophy. While strong in the Force, the Jedi were concerned about her difficulty communing with the Force, and so a calmer Master chose her in the hopes of tempering Liuna’s eagerness to leap into trouble. Unfortunately, Master Gwornayrr often found himself literally carrying the young Mirialan out of trouble, which she managed to find even in the most unlikely places, like archaeological digs and university libraries. However, the lessons Liuna learned were invaluable and eventually led her Master to recommend her for promotion to a full Jedi Knight.

Not too long after that promotion, while still working with her former Master to improve her connection to the Living Force, she managed to open herself instead to a vision of the future where she saw herself bring light to the darkest corners of the galaxy. While Master Gwornayrr tried to convince her that the vision could be interpreted in many ways, Liuna had already decided that it meant she was destined to eradicate the worst of the galaxy—which she felt were criminals and their organisations. Setting off with a lightsaber and without the blessing of her Jedi teachers, Liuna quickly found her “destined task” wasn’t going to be easy.

After some hard lessons—ones learned at blaster point, most of the time—Liuna learned to become far more efficient, even ruthless, when hunting gangsters, slavers, and the other scum she targeted, even going so far as to collect bounties on the most valuable of them to pay for her ongoing mission. One of those “lessons” left her with a mechanical forearm and hand, which she leaves covered with gloves at all times. The credits she put towards starship maintenance and new gear, including her trusty astromech, Jinx, and a very useful stealth field generator that made her far more difficult to detect by her enemies... when it was working properly.

While she hasn’t had contact with the Jedi in years, she has occasional allies willing to help take down the worst of the galaxy. Now she finds herself between targets, but a message from her former Master asking her to travel to Saridona Prime has piqued her curiosity—as is the mention of a secret offshoot of the Jedi she grew up with being headquartered on that planet. While she'd never heard of the Guardians of Light before, Liuna trusted Master Gwornayrr's message and has made haste for the system.

One of Koji's last missions as a Padawan brought him to Saridona Prime where he discovered the Jedi faction that called themselves the Guardians of Light. After passing the trials and becoming a full fledged member of the Jedi Order as a Knight, Koji set off and joined the Guardians.

    Prologue: Dark of Knight

IC: The midst of a waking nightmare.
    Elsewhere

In the beginning, there was light. And then the darkness began. No, no, it was the other way 'round. First the darkness, and then the light... No, the light surely came first, followed by the darkness, and then these...things. The being looked behind him, hearing the ugly sharp cracking, hissing and popping noises made by...them. Or was it we? No, no. He never made those sounds, he couldn't even understand them. They were from the darkness though, the ever creeping darkness seeking to extinguish the light and he was... The light! No his light had dimmed he was... He was returning to the light, from the darkness. It had been light, then twilight, then he carried the light into the darkness. Or had the darkness sought him out? The dark! It had claimed him, as it claimed all others. Demanding his worship, demanding his light be snuffed out. Demanded he take the darkness with him...to the light.

    IC: Beskaryc Taab
    Temple of Light, Saridona Prime

    *Knock, knock, knock*

Commander Beskaryc Taab, head of the Temple of Light security forces, suppressed a groan as the greeting staccatoed through the closed door. From the time showing on the chrono on the wall, and the tempered, perfectly timed rapping he knew who it was. Sitting on the hard cot in the room afforded him at the far end of the Knight's level dorms he finished attaching his armor plates to his body suit, while another round of knocking began, this time followed by a female voice. "Sir?" Yup, it was her. "You awake?" Taab sighed as he stood and went to the door, running his hand through the thin fuzz of quickly drying hair. "I'm awake Major," he opened the hatch to reveal the form of Major Barrett waiting for him in full uniform. "And as you know I have been for a couple of hours." He clipped his buy'ce (helmet) to his belt. He'd go without it for the next five minutes as he allowed his scalp to dry.

"Yes sir, good morning sir." his executive officer said with a grin on her face. "Just that at your age I thought maybe you had gone down for a nap." Taab let go with a loud sigh, he would have laughed had his right knee not been aching. He had perhaps taken things a bit too far on his morning run around the Temple, but the summer air had been warm and the verdant green of the Valley of Light so inviting that he had strayed from his normal path and gone out into the woods. A bad step out there had seen him twist his knee, and though he had wrapped it afterwards it still ached. Not that he was going to let Barrett, or anyone else, know about it. Tapping the side of his bucket still hanging on his belt he asked, "OK Major," she stifled her grin and became all business. "What's on the docket for today?" Normally he could have checked on that via the HUD on his helmet, but as he wasn't wearing it yet...

"Knight Al'Kesh still hasn't returned from his last scouting assignment." Taab started his way towards the TCC with Barrett in tow. "How long is he overdue?" He asked, unconcerned. The Jedi spy and scout was easily distracted by shiny objects in Taab's experience and was often overdue. "Three days sir." Taab glanced over at Barrett who seemed to be reciting this all from memory. "That all?" She nodded in reply. "Wait another 72 hours and then we start worrying about him. What else?" There was a pause as they passed by Master Rand who inclined his head thoughtfully to the pair who returned the gesture. The Jedi would not normally be on this level, his quarters were in the Master dorm area, but he was likely here to see someone else.

"Received word that the Pegasus put in at Bespin late last night on our fuel supply run." Barrett finally replied. The Jedi was still within earshot, but it didn't matter. They weren't discussing anything classified, and even if they were, he was on the Council. "ETA on their return?" Captain Ro had established a good rapport with the port boss there after rescuing a rather illicit shipment from a pirate attack. Since then he had looked the other way while the Pegasus "acquired" needed Tibanna gas to fuel the Guardian's starships. "Two weeks or so, depends on how creative they have to be this time." Taab smiled. "Right."

"Knight's Reese, Avarray, Nosrep and Troi are on star fighter patrol..." Taab snapped his head over to look at Barrett through stern, questioning eyes. "Jetiise? (jedi pl.)" Barrett nodded. "Yessir," she slurred the two words into one. "The Colonel thought it best to get her pilots some rest before the ceremony, so she asked for some assitence from the Jedi before they all head..."

He nodded now. The fiery red haired leader of their fighter wing had a very close relationship with the Jedi. By rights (and rank) she should have been Taab's Executive Officer and not Barrett, but the Colonel had shown no interest in anything other than her precious fighter wing, and seemed quite happy to remain in her position there. Taab wasn't displeased by the arrangement, Barrett was an excellent XO, and the Colonel was an excellent fighter pilot, and wing leader.

"Sevices is working on the beacon, making sure it's ready for today." Taab almost swore. He hated that beacon. What's the point of a hidden Temple on a secret planet if you lit off a huge beacon of light that could bee seen from orbit every time there was a major event? A major event, Taab had almost forgotten.

"And of course, the big ceremony today, the Knighting of padawan Bonaventure." Right, the ceremony. That was today. Taab grimaced slightly, something the Major took note of. "Oh come on sir, it won't be so bad. You put in an appearance..." He ignored her, "As soon as the fighter patrol returns put Temple Security on THREATCON Besh." The Major looked askance at him but offered nothing further. Taab didn't have to explain his order, but he did so anyway. "The Jedi will be gathered in the Grand Hall for the ceremony, none tasked to us even with the Pegasus away, so I want our people on alert in case something happens." The Major nodded her assent, but added with a smile. "You're just trying to get out of attending the ceremony. As a Department head, you should be there, not holed away in the TCC." Taab paused their progress to the Tactical Combat Center long enough to give her a look through slitted eyes, wondering briefly how long it would take to kill her and where to stash the body before reason intruded and he stalked further along, a frown on his face. "Besides, you and Ven have a lot in common..."

"I don't have anything in common with a jetii (Jedi)." Taab barked out, though truth be told the Sarge as he called him was one of the more acceptable Jedi in the Temple. Taab at least understood where the man came from, with so many of the others...

"Hey boss, why so serious?" She hurried alongside him. "Not like anyone knows we're even out here," she gestured to the hallways of the Temple. "You should go, I'll handle the TCC once we go on alert." Taab reached up and scratched his forehead with an armored glove. "No one knows we're here?" He asked rhetorically. "We had the Chiss ex-pats and the Journeyman that helped take care of them," he started. "The Journeymen are allies they..." he continued on ignoring her. "A whole Star Destroyer full of Sith and their droids..."

    "Well, they're all dead."

Taab stopped dead in his tracks. "Not all," he growled. "Sixtus and Twitchy (Ian Thrace), escaped." The Major swallowed hard. Right, those two. Best to not ever bring up those two she reminded herself. again. The subject was something of a sore spot with the Mandalorian. "Then we had those scavengers a few months ago," he resumed walking again.

"C'mon sir, they don't count! Their hyperdrive was leaking and they came out of hyperspace here by mistake, they had no clue where they were." Taab nodded in agreement. That was all true, but they had attacked the Temple nonetheless. The memory of that thwarted effort brought a smile to his face. "See, you agree with me, and none of them escaped." She held her breath for a moment wondering if he would conflate that statement with the fates of Sixtus and Thrace, but the small smile held firm on his face. "OK, fine. I'll go." They arrived at the TCC and headed in. "This time." Barrett smiled as she bounded across the floor of the TCC to the security station while the Commander took his place at the central console in the middle of the room.

    "OK...what else?"

The smile returned to the Major's face, one that was mimicked on everyone else's face in the TCC as well. "Well, nothing sir. Just..."

Taab waited, the creases on his face deepening as Major Barrett finally spit it out with some difficulty. "Briikase gote'tuur al'verde Taab" From behind her console appeared a small ujj cake, with a candle in it, just as a sensor alert beeped on the main console.

"I'm getting too old for this osik..."*

OOC: To those that played long ago, the Colonel in charge of the fighter wing is based on Adalia-Durron's character. Since she hasn't played in a while and I don't have the heart to retire the character, we'll simply allude to the existence of the Colonel in charge of the fighter wing. We won't ever actually playing her as either a PC or an NPC, thus leaving her true identity ambiguous so she may or may not be Addie's old character.

    IC: Knight Gim (NPC)
Meditation Garden, Temple of Light, Saridona Prime

Knight Gim opened his eyes as the boat came to a gentle rest along the shore way. The Ugnaught breathed in the "fresh" air, well as fresh as the air got inside of the Temple anyway. It wasn't that the air here was stale, it just paled in comparison to that to be found outside. Gim snorted as he disembarked the small boat and pulled it ashore next to it's twin.

Outside, normally on a day like today outside would be a wonderful place for a sunrise meditation, but the younglings were supposed to be back today, and Gim didn't want to run into them. They were all about his size, and often mistook him for another child. He hated that. Judging by the presence of the other boat, he wasn't alone in his desire to partake of the promenade's central island for his morning rites rather than taking advantage of what was shaping up to be a gorgeous summer day.

"Hello!" He cried out, abandoning protocol and not worrying about disturbing the others here. There was no immediate response and so he started along the short trail that would lead to the big tree in the middle of the island. That's where he would meditate, and it was he would wager, where anyone else on the island was meditating as well. As he rounded a Claing bush, well in bloom, he saw that he was right, and not only right but doubly so. "Knight Sadi," he bowed deeply to the Kage Sentinal, which brought his porcine nose almost to the ground. "Soon to be Knight Bonaventure," he straightened up and snorted again this time in laughter at his small joke. "Why have you come to meditate here when it is so beautiful outside this morning?"

IC: Master Elim Rand (NPC-Restricted to GM use only)
    Knight Dorm level.

Clad in his white garments, Master Elim Rand serenely walked the corridor of the Knight's Dorm Level. This was an auspicious day, the Guardians would soon have a new Knight joining their ranks after a successful apprenticeship as a padawan learner. Rand had to admit, he had a soft spot for padawan, soon to be Knight, Bonaventure. He had come to his Jedi training late in his life (for a human) and at one time would have been rejected out of hand for training. While Rand certainly honored the ways of the old Order, Bonaventure had thus far proven him wrong and would no doubt make an excellent Knight. Unlike many others beings in the galaxy though Rand didn't mind being wrong, especially in matters such as this. Indeed, such surprises were always happy ones.

Now though he was here for another purpose, another Jedi had recently arrived, at the behest of her own former Master. Now Rand wanted to get to know her better, informally of course, and see how she was adjusting to life at the Temple. He nodded to the Security Chief and his second in command as they walked by, giving him a brief yet unconcerned glance. The Mandalorian had been given quarters here, on this level, as a way to honor his rank and position as security chief. Rand honestly hadn't expected the man to actually use them though. Rather he had thought the Mandalorian would continue to live his life out of his shuttle. That too had been a welcome surprise when he had moved into his dorm room those many years ago now.

He waited until the pair of security officers had left the area before coming to the door he was looking for. Knocking gently he spoke just loud enough to be heard inside. "Knight Iotasi, I was wondering if you would like to head to the mediation gardens with me prior to the ceremony? Or perhaps get something to eat?" The sound of a door opening, but not the one before him surprised him. Turning he saw it was Knight Vansyph exiting his own room. Rand bowed. "I was just inviting our newest member to breakfast, or perhaps to meditate. Would you like to accompany us?"

Valley of Light, en route back to the Temple, Saridona Prime

"...and that younglings, is the story of how Ezra Bridger and how he..."

"Tell another one!" Master Alyn was inturrpted by the precocious Togruta riding on the back of Master Kraahn. Alyn breathed deeply, such interruptions were to be expected of the very young, and the trio of Jedi Masters, Alyn looked back to see Master Kasumi hanging back a few yards, corralling the stragglers, had certainly had their patience tried over the last day and night spent out in the woods with the Temple's younglings.

They had led the overnight excursion as a sort of retreat for the youngling, to explain to them the importance of the Knighting ceremony they were all going to attend this day for padawan Bonaventure. The older younglings seemed to understand, their own days of being selected for an apprenticeship were also fast approaching, and the youngest of them out here, a mere five orbits old, at least understood the magnitude of what was going to happen. They were all excited though, not only at the prospect of the ceremony, but at returning home. For some this was their first overnight trip outside, and while the early summer weather had held perfectly for them, they still yearned to sleep in their own beds this night.

"Kalpana, what did we tell you about interrupting?" The Master said, her tone unchanged from the motherly inflection she has been using. "Sorry Master," the young girl replied, her face turned suddenly dour as she sat atop the Tchuukthai Master who had so graciously allowed her to ride back astride him. "Do not be discouraged," Master Alyn smiled, "we are almost home." She gestured to the Temple of Light just a thousand meters distant now, it's upper pylons glistening in the early morning sun. Around them birds could be seen moving to and fro, though the group was too far away yet to hear their song.

"Yea!" A great cheer went up from many of the younglings, Kalpana included. Master Alyn stifled a laugh but she couldn't prevent the amused look in her yes as she exchanged glances with Masters Kraahn and Kasumi. Their time in the woods had been well spent, but now it was indeed good to be headed home.

IC: Knight's Reese and Troi, callsigns Nexu 2 and Nexu 4, (NPCs)
Fighter patrol Nexu, passing by Saridona Prime's outer moon.

Coming around the near edge of the inner Saridonian moon, Nexu flight had only about 15 minutes of patrol time left before they would be relieved by non-Jedi personnel. Knight Reese in Nexu-2 stretched his bionic right hand hearing the slight whirring sound that told him it would have to be re-calibrated...again as he kept station with his flight lead, Knight Avarray, in Nexu-1. Off behind them by a few kilometers were Nexu-3 piloted by Knight Nosrep and his own wingman Knight Troi in Nexu-4. The flight had been a boring one, nothing to report and even less to see. Reese was fine with that, he had participated in enough battles during his life, and a nice boring patrol was just was was needed, especially on as busy as this one was going to be, what with the...

"Nex.. fl...t, this is Stargate. W....ave a bogey just drop... out o....perspace oppos... side ....he moon from you. Intercept and identify." The words came through Knight Reese's headset with just a hint of static garbling Major Barrett's words as the Temple, callsign Stargate, was sending out a weak signal. The meaning of her call was loud and clear though. An unidentified craft had come out of hyperpace beyond the far side of the moon and she wanted Nexu flight to see who their visitors were.

"Vector 3-0, carom 20." She called back after boosting the power slightly to avoid interference with her signal. Reese looked out into the darkness, the craft was visible on his screen now too (identified as Bogey-1), but he didn't have a visual on it just yet. "Nexu four, eyeballs on your bogey," the call came out from Knight Troi. Kriff Troi had good eyes, Reese still didn't see it "Looks like an old Eta-2, I don't see a hyperdrive ring, so it's either modified or he dropped it behind the moon." Reese kept looking for it where his scanners said it should be but...ah, there! A glimmer of reflected sunlight flashed along the leading edge of the craft's wing. Eta-2 all right, it had clearly seen them too because it was headed towards Nexu flight now.

"And a very good morning to you, Knight Gim! Outside would be my choice, but they tell me it's tradition for a Padawan to meditate here before the knighting ceremony, so here I am. I violate enough of the Order's traditions without going out of my way to flout the ones I don't need to. Pick your battles, right?"

Gim grunted at me with maybe a hint of approval. Maybe. "You're not going soft on us, are you, Sarge? The geriatric initiate who came here would fight anybody for anything."

"I wasn't that bad... was I? Anyway, who are you calling geriatric?"

"Only you, longshanks. Gonna make something of it?"

"I'll be all over you shortly, Gim! Round of sparring after the ceremony?"

"Better say after the party instead. Folk here have an excuse to celebrate, and we're likely to seize the opportunity with both hands. After that, I'll cut you down to size. Again. Now aren't you supposed to be meditating?"

"How am I supposed to meditate with all these interruptions?"

I gave the Ugnaught a good-natured punch on the shoulder and made a show of nursing the imagined bruises on my knuckles, then knelt before the great tree and returned to my meditation with the Light. The presence of good friends made it easier.

    IC: Rak Avarray
Fighter patrol Nexu, passing by Saridona Prime's outer moon

The Vagabond Knight shifted his shoulders uncomfortably. He hated the small cockpits of these fighters, he felt so constricted, like he couldn't breathe. He also hated the helmets. They constantly pulled on his long hair and matted it down giving his head an entirely unappealing appearance. It wasn't that he was vain, he just didn't like the way it looked when he had 'Helmet Hair'. Others had told him just to cut it and be done with it. However he couldn't, in the culture he grew up in, to cut ones hair was an act of mourning. He had nothing to mourn about so, his black hair grew, it had grown to the point that it curled out of the back of the helmet he wore.

He had fifteen minutes left on his patrol. He couldn't get out soon enough. He'd only accepted this because the Colonel had asked him to ease the burden on her own pilots. He'd been listening to music on his comms helping to pass the time. Yes 'Groucho', the nickname for Major Taab, would be displeased with it but, surly he's listening to something in the bucket of his. The knight had done many boring things but, this had to rank among the worst so anything to distract was a blessing.

"Nex.. fl...t," the garbled voice of the Major rang out, silencing the song that was playing. He might have been breaking 'protocol' but, he wasn't stupid, sometimes things happen on patrol. It wasn't often, but it happens. "tTis is Stargate. W....ave a bogey just drop... out o....perspace oppos... side ....he moon from you. Intercept and identify."

For the first time since he'd started he sat up straight. An unidentified vessel here, just dropping out of hyperspace, such an event was not usually a good sign.

"Nuxu four, eyeballs on your bogey," The human Jacen Troi now Nexu 4 called out. "Looks like an old Eta-2, I don't see a hyperdrive ring, so it's either modified or he dropped it behind the moon." Eta-2 that was a Jedi fighter, from a time long past, though they were once called 'Jedi Starfighters' it meant little now, anyone could find one and fix it up.

"Nexu Lead, orders?" Reese asked, Rak hung his head, who in their right mind would make him the leader of this flight. He had no business leading anything. He never took his responsibilities seriously, well outside of the basic tenants of the Jedi code. Everything else never really interested him, nor did he really pay them much mind.

Looking out into the vastness of space, part of him wondered if he could see any star he hadn't been to yet. It was just a random musing he often found himself in.

"Ah…Yes, Nexu lead here." He said trying to sound official, only coming off as a second rate impression of Groucho (Taab). "Se…"He stopped himself from using his onetime padawan's real name protocol and all that, "Nexu Three, you and Ja…Nexu Four hang back while me and Two check this out. Don't want to spook 'em." He throttled forward ever so gently. Leaving the younger Ongree behind.

It was his greatest shame, not completing that one's training. Rak was still young, only four years older than his 'Apprentice' when he was assigned to mentor him. It was far too much responsibility for the wanderer, he did his best but, found himself uncomfortable with the role of 'Master'. Without a word he left, leaving his charge to the whims of fate.

And Fate was cruel. A shroud of darkness fell across the temple in Rak's absence. So many lights were snuffed out, and in the middle of it all his padawan. He should have been there, not wandering the stars, if he was there maybe more would have survived. Maybe Zoe would still be with them, and her Master Aroon.

He still carried an amethyst pendant, Zoe's favorite, he got it for her on one of his travels, he was going to give it to her, when he learned of her passing, and that of her master. Back on his ship, the aptly named 'Vagabond' was an old book, written in a language he didn't know. He kept it as a memory of another darkened light, Letali. She would have like the challenge of translating it, and then reading it.

When he was told of their deaths, the first thing he did was cut his hair, shaved it, until he was bald. So great was his grief. He can still recall the tears that stung his eyes as long strands of jet black hair fell into the sink. That act helped, helped manage his pain. It had been years since then but, he still carried the shame with him.

Taking a breath, he locked those thought away.

"Unidentified vessel," he started a standard 'Hail' "welcome to our system, have you come here by accident, or are you looking for something?"

Well, can you look? And since you're not busy, go ahead and finish sewing it for me. I need to take care of something.

Koji was annoyed with himself for not being able to find the thread kit. But he had bigger fish to fry, and he was behind schedule.

As Koji's door slid open, he saw Master Rand standing outside the previously vacant dorm room across the hall.

    Greetings Master Rand, Koji bowed.
Rand bowed in return before calmly extending an invitation, "I was just inviting our newest member to breakfast, or perhaps to meditate. Would you like to accompany us?"

Koji hadn't gotten a chance to meet the new arrival, but was looking forward to it.
I would like that Master, but there are some things I need to take of before the ceremony today. Procrastination has gotten the better of me it seems.. If you would excuse me.

    IC: Semajj Nosrep
Fighter patrol Nexu, passing by Saridona Prime's outer moon

The Ongree sighed as he once again checked the various readouts and diagnostics that were flying through the screens in his fighter.
He flew casually, not too fast. Slow and steady always wins the race he knew.

R4-B4 moaned out his status as he did every half hour on the mark.

Fuel levels at 65.003%, area appears clear of hostiles, and fighter seems to be shifting to the right by a tenth of a degree.

Always the master of the obvious that one.
"Yes thank you Beefour" he offered courteously.
Semajj found these missions as tedious as he knew the others did, though he would never think of refusing one when asked. It was his duty to aid the order however he could, regardless of his personal feelings on the matter.

That said it seemed the council always found one reason or another to send him off world. Whether it be a scouting mission, mapping an unexplored area, or checking on a sensor breach. Considering who his first master was he supposed that shouldn't be a surprise. They probably figured he was as stir crazy as their 'Vagabond Knight' was. Though the irony is that he and his master really couldn't be much more different.

Rak taught him to think for himself, and look outside the box. And Semajj did just that, and after looking outside that box concluded he much preferred it inside, in the cozy comforts of tradition and protocol. That was not to say he was incapable of alternative thinking when a situation demanded that. He just preferred a more subdued lifestyle.

This thought brought a chuckle to him. Though his mind was returned to the present just then by static on his communicator, that was mounted to a special headband to accommodate his... uncommon anatomy.
"Nex.. fl...t, tTis is Stargate. W....ave a bogey just drop... out o....perspace oppos... side ....he moon from you. Intercept and identify."

Semajj instantly decelerated, flipping several switches and prepping for the orders that would inevitably come.

And sure enough a second later chatter erupted again.

"Nuxu four, eyeballs on your bogey, Looks like an old Eta-2, I don't see a hyperdrive ring, so it's either modified or he dropped it behind the moon."

And Eta-2? Really? Semajj looked out the view port of his ship straining to see this ancient 'bogey'. But as he was in the tail end of their formation he couldn't make anything out. "I would love a chance to analyze such a fighter..." he whispered in fascination. He adored history, and while he was not much for flying, the chance to tear apart, and dissect a clone wars era ship would be amazing.

    "Nexu Lead, orders?"

"Ah…Yes, Nexu lead here." He heard discomfort in his former masters voice, but understood where the feeling was coming from.
"Se… Nexu Three, you and Ja…Nexu Four hang back while me and Two check this out. Don't want to spook 'em."

Semajj smiled at the couple slip ups. But again he didn't blame Rak for the breach in protocol. After all he himself had accidently referred to the group lead by his default 'Master' at least a couple times on this patrol alone.
"Copy that Nexu lead." He spoke in a formal monotone, and made a steady turn as to maintain the distance he felt was appropriate. "May the Force be with you."

Step one of every morning was to wake up.

Step two was no really, you have to actually get up as she fought against every desire to stay faceplanted in her pillow with the blankets pulled up over her head to block out whatever sunlight was surely pouring in.

Eyes closed and movement languid, Liuna rolled off in a tangle of blankets and hit the stone floor with a surprised "oof". Right. Temple. Not starship. And that was the only reason she'd slept so well, Liuna reflected as she forced herself to sit up and pushed at the blankets until they weren't such a hazard. She never could relax unless she was among the Jedi, and it had been years since she'd left her enclave on Chandrila. A lot of time without friends. And yet she was still surprised at how comfortable she felt here, even though this sect was kind of different than she was used to.

Jinx, her purple astromech, was sitting in the corner, seemingly powered up but neglecting her usual morning judgement. "What's up with you today?" she asked as she poked the droid with her toe, and smiled at the staccato of complaints. "And here I thought you're just grumpy I'm making friends that aren't you." The sour note made it obvious the little droid wasn't all too happy to be here, but she just laughed and- now slightly more awake- began her morning routine.

There was a lot of steps to her mornings, when she had the opportunity not to skip them. Stretching and small exercises she could do in the confines of her quarters or on her ship. Skipping the meditation, like she did most days. A shower and some attempt at wrangling her loose hair. And then gearing up.

While considering what equipment was appropriate for what was supposed to be a friendly temple, a knock disturbed her conversation with Jinx.

"... they're allies, I don't need to bring my equipment belt anywhere, it's just like back at the- I know you weren't ever at the enclave but that doesn't--"

"Knight Iotasi, I was wondering if you would like to head to the mediation gardens with me prior to the ceremony? Or perhaps get something to eat?"

The voice wasn't familiar but once she got to the door to open it, she found one of the knights she'd been introduced to since arriving. "You're..." she held a finger to her chin while she poked her head out, trying to recall his name. She could see another robed figure walking away but thought nothing of it. "Rand?" she guessed- there had been a lot of names and introductions in the last couple days- then continued, "I could eat, I just need a second--"

And Liuna was back in her quarters without waiting for a response, shushing Jinx and telling him to behave while gathering the last of her things. She left her cloak on the bed- still a twist and tangle of blankets- and most of her gear on the small table, only picking up her dualsaber and clipping it to her belt. After a glance in the mirror, she decided that the Jedi would prefer a mess of hair than a hood distancing her from them and left it down.

Just a few moments after she'd darted back in, Liuna stepped out into the hallway, pointedly locking Jinx inside. "He'd just get into trouble," she explained to the waiting knight, then brightened. "Food then?"

“Queen’s Dagger”, passing by Saridona Prime’s outer moon

Silence… that was all the old Jedi could hear… absolute silence. It was an odd sensation for Josch to be traveling in silence. The Orywn’s Claw, his old Wayfarer-class medium transport, was outfitted with a top-of-the-line audio system that was constantly playing music. But his wife…

    EX wife

…was currently in possession of it and was force-knows-where in the galaxy. The last time he traversed the hyperspace lanes, for any significant amount of time, in a one-man fighter was just after the Second Imperial Civil War. Back then he was jumping around in his R-28 starfighter, “Crimson Arrow”, until he found the “Claw”.

He thought about using his old G1-M4-C Dunelizard (“Arrow of Light”) or even his Tandem X-wing (“Shadow Dagger”), but he gifted the Dunelizard to his daughter Keira and the Tandem’s hyperdrive had a bad habit of leaking coolant from its hyperdrive. He felt it fitting that Keira should end up with the fighter he was flying when he met her mother. Now she was acting in his stead as Princess of Notre Vlis.

You should have stayed on Vernet! It’s where you belong, not running off on some damned fool’s errand!

Josch shook his head, cleared his throat, and sat up in his seat as his Eta-2 reverted back into real space just past the outer moon of Saridona Prime. If the Guardians were still adhering to the same protocols that were in place when he departed, he should be greeted by a fighter patrol as he came around the moon.

    {HEY! LOOK! There are four fighters straight ahead, two seem to be on an intercept course.}

Josch didn’t even respond back to his little companion, who was just outside of his canopy. He slowed to match their speed and waited for the flight leader to hail him. Closing his eyes he opened himself to the force, reaching out towards the approaching Guardians’ minds.

Really? You think you’re strong enough to reach them? I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t blast you into microscopic particles!

SHUT UP!”, Josch screamed as he grabbed his head.

    {HEY! Are you ok?}

I’M FINE!” He took a deep breath and slowly let it out, “I’m fine, Navi.

    {HEY! LISTEN! We’re being hailed}

Unidentified vessel, welcome to our system, have you come here by accident, or are you looking for something?

Josch opened his coms to the hailing fighter, “That is quite an interesting query. Aren’t all who seek the Temple of Light looking for something?

The wanderer felt something, it was light, not over powering but, noticeable. It was almost like the pull he felt, when he was with his parents. It was a sense he had of the Force. This pilot could touch it, unfortunately it was too weak to discern who they were but, it was something.

"That is quite an interesting query." Rak chuckled a little, he really wasn't used to this. "Aren’t all who seek the Temple of Light looking for something?"

He let out a slow breath letting his humor fade. "Yes, but not all that seek us do so with pure intentions." The knight continued his voice lowering just a little. "Allow me to rephrase, Could you please identify yourself and tell me if you're visiting for business or entertainment?" It was a standard customs check he'd heard far too many times in his travels, though it seemed to fit in this case.

Normally his father, and now himself would merely reply, "Must I need a reason?" when pressed they would acquiesce saying "A bit of both but, I have no known business here, yet." It was the type of recursive logic that made many people in authority dislike Rak and his family.

He waited patiently for the reply though he was put a little more at ease. At least this being didn't start shooting at him. He may have wanted excitement but, he didn't necessarily find violence all that intriguing.

    Meditation Garden

Sitting on a lower branch, under the higher branches of the great tree in the center of the Meditation Garden was a good spot to get a little perspective, to focus on the inner self and even to sense in all directions around yourself. Having been here for years he still found it to be one of the better training locations his Master had shown him. Still didn't compare to his childhood in any perceptible way, but alien worlds were meant to be, well alien. And so far all worlds were.

When he felt Knight Gim approach he merely nodded with eyes closed. Then listened passively as Gim and Bonaventure had a brief discussion. Although after the last quip my Bonaventure about not being able to meditate with all these interruptions he simply could not resist. "Training." he simply stated as he dropped to the ground.

"Although after you engaged with Gim I pretty much lost that battle myself. Besides, it's not like the ceremony is going to be anything where you have to showcase your ability to fly with the Force as your only ally, so better to go with a light heart with comrades than a heavy one from wallowing in the surface powder. . .soft dirt."

Yes, but not all that seek us do so with pure intentions.

Josch was happy that his somewhat snarky response did not frazzle the flight lead. Over his nearly three centuries of piloting he flew his fair share of defensive patrols. He was tempted to test this crop of Guardians.

Who said these were Guardians? For all you know they’re nothing but a bunch of pirates that wiped out the Guardians of Light. The same Guardians of Light you abandoned.

Josch would be lying if he said that this horrifying thought hadn’t crossed his mind more than once. Without thinking he made sure his shields were set to double front. As his hand moved towards the throttle he looked at the way the lead two fighters broke off to intercept him while the remainder of the flight hung back in a cover position. He would recognize the Colonel’s defensive patrol tactics anywhere. He should, he learned the same from her grandmother during their time together in the Shadow Sabers.

Josch started, “This is Grand Master…

GRAND MASTER? You are full of yourself, aren’t you? It seems slightly presumptuous to think that they would allow you to retain your old rank without your connection to the force. I wouldn’t be surprised if they sent you back to being someone’s Padawan again. Of course if they did that you might be able to find another future ex-missus Decinchi.

Josch ground his teeth and squeezed his eyes closed, as he pressed his hands tighter to his head. He didn’t hear the second half of the flight leader’s request.

Allow me to rephrase, Could you please identify yourself and tell me if you're visiting for business or entertainment?"

I SAID, SHUT UP!” Josch screamed as loud as he could. The ferocity of his bellow sent shockwaves through the force.

    {HEY! Did you mean to transmit that in the clear?}

"I SAID, SHUT UP!" The pilot of the Eta-2 shouted across the comm. Subconsciously Rak felt a ripple in the Force, like a stone tossed into still lake.

"Reese," he said, on a private channel, "Move to his starboard wing, I'll take port. Let's try to escort this one down." He gave another look to the ancient fighter craft, his worry starting to bubble up. "Semajj, Jacen." The flight leader said addressing the pair left behind. "Keep your distance but, move in a little, just in case. No sudden movements," his last words were more of an order than he'd like them to be but, it was always better to be safer than sorry.

"Grand Master Up, or is it Shutup," He continued swapping over to the open comm, "You must have been before my time. I would have remembered a name like that." The human kept his jovial nature while conversing with the as yet unidentified vessel. "Welcome back. If you'll allow we'd like to escort you. It'll be an honor to accompany you on your no doubt happy return." As he spoke Rak gently maneuvered his fighter behind the Jedi Starfighter, hoping Reese was doing the same. He didn't want to spook this pilot. They seemed a little troubled possibly in need of the calming presence of the temple.

"Stargate" Rak swapped over speaking directly to the temple. "This is Ra…Nexu Lead…We've caught up to your 'bogey'" he said the word like it was something foreign to him. "We are attempting to escort them peacefully to the hangar. They have made no aggressive moves against us but, I sense something. If you could have Master Susruta meet us when we land. I believe that would be for the best." Yes the calming presence of the Healer might do well to help this person.

"Alright sir." Flicking back over to open comms, "Me and my partner here are going to fly with you down. Is this acceptable?" He checked his sensors again, marking the locations of his former padawan and the mandalorian. He hoped he was doing the right thing, he'd dealt with situations similar to this. It was all about keeping things calm, and preparing for the worst. He did what he could to keep his nervousness from passing in to the Force. He didn't want to do anything that would cause this being to turn on them, or himself.

"Understood Nexu Lead." Semajj responded without hesitation. He glanced out of his canopy to his wingman Nexu Four, and singled by angling his head to his right. Jacen nodded back knowing what he had to do. With a slow meticulous grasp the Ongree accelerated.

Turning in a large open arc, he carefully covered part of the distance between himself and Raks far right flank, at the Eta-2's left. He saw out his view port Jacen doing the mirror image. From this angle they would appear nonthreatening, still being a decent distance away, but in the event the mysterious pilot tried to dash they could block off his two primary escape routes in just a few seconds, forcing the man to have to turn tail if he sought to escape.

As he approached the proper position, he spoke to his copilot. "Beefour, quickly clear out the guns and..."
In a second text was already appearing on the screen.

That Ship is not a hostile?

A decade ago that question would be posited as a statement, but in all the memory wipes he had given the droid, one thing he had maintained in its awareness was how Jedi often just knew things, and it was best to go along with it.

"No its not hostile, at least not now. I doubt it will be either, probably just a harmless crazy person. But still, its better to be safe than sorry."

Though one had to wonder how exactly a crazy person got their hands on such an old ship. Of course it was no longer in commission as a Jedi model, and any scavenger or pirate savvy enough could probably get one up and running. But it still wasn't exactly the most common starfighter around. It would be far easier for someone to have picked out a more recent type. He sensed something odd about that one, but couldn't make much sense of it.

"Oh and please divert about 5.0% power from engine capacity to firepower. And don't interrupt! Seems you're due for another wipe soon if you're doing that."

    Understood.

Grand Master Up, or is it Shutup, You must have been before my time. I would have remembered a name like that. Welcome back. If you'll allow we'd like to escort you. It'll be an honor to accompany you on your no doubt happy return.

Josch’s hands were still hard pressed against his temples and his eyes began to tear up from the nearly unbearable throbbing in his head.

See, they don’t even know who you are. You weren’t even important enough for your so-called friends to tell the next generation about you. Just like everything else in your life, your impress on the events of the galaxy are meaningless. You were once the most powerful Jedi in the Order, now you’re nothing. You’re not even a footnote in the archives of the Force!

The excruciating pain continued to pound. He tried to steady his breathing and find the calm center amongst the tremendous maelstrom within his own mind. The war waging within him was starting to take its toll. It had cost him yet another family, but it was also the reason why he needed to get back to the Temple.

Alright sir. Me and my partner here are going to fly with you down. Is this acceptable?

You honestly think these narrow minded fools are going to be able to help you? A better use for these infidels would be for target practice. Perhaps you wouldn’t mind if I drove for awhile, would you?

No! I won’t let you!” Josch screeched as he pushed his throttle to the max. He adjusted his vector to head straight to the Temple.

    {HEY! Slow down.}

Edge of the Forest heading towards the Temple

The time spent in the forest was good. She was able to rejuvenate herself with meditation during times of rest with the younglings, and even though at times their energy overwhelmed her, she was happy to have it around. Their laughter, their playfulness, and their unending thirst for knowledge was something that she remembered from long ago. It was nice to see such things again, and to be able to witness it.

    "Master again...please...again."

One of the youngest had become fascinated with Kasumi's ability to make the forest "bend" to the Force. She tried several times to tell them that she was asking the Forest for help, asking it to grow, and it was it's own decision if it wanted to. That she could not "make" the Forest do what it didn't want to do. She looked at the young face that was pointing to an almost dead flowering shrub.

"What does the Forest need to grow and survive?"

    "Ummm...water.....sun.....and....ummmm...the Force?"

Kasumi smiled at the answer. "The Force flows through the Forest yes. Water and sun to help it make it's food, yes. But what else?"

The bright eyed child looked confused and then sad that the answer did not come easily.

"You care for it, protect it. The Forest needs love, care, and respect." Kasumi reached out with the Force and felt that the water was deeper in the ground than the roots of the plant could get to. She used the Force to lengthen the roots while helping heal the dying parts of the bush. When she was done, there were green leaves on it. "You care for it, the Forest will take care of you. And that is the same for any place or being. Do you understand?"

    "Yes master."

Kasumi smiled and reached out to catch another youngling that was trying to play tag with the group at the back from getting to far past her. As she felt her arm catch the youngling, she could hear the laugh that came from him from being caught. She smiled.

"Keep up. You don't want to be left behind."

Kasumi smiled as the the youngest stayed with her while the others ran ahead a bit, but always between the masters. Kasumi paused for a moment, there was a ripple, something familiar...or was it someone familiar coming this way? She glanced up at the sky and closed her eyes for a moment. No, it was not clear who or what it was....but it was familiar to her. What was it.....the Force was not showing her much. The tug on her tunic from the little one snapped her out of trying to figure it out for now. She smiled and called out again...."Keep up."
