JCC [LEGO IS AWESOME] It's like Christmas come early!!

I've just been building smaller models in the last couple of weekends. Avengers stuff. The last major models I built were at end of October, and that was Kylo Ren's shuttle and the Burrow from Harry Potter. The latter was easy and fun. The shuttle was a nightmare. Anyone built that beast?

 

Not, not a big fan of that ship.

my last one was Tantiv IV, my next will either be ‘89 Batwing or the Colosseum.

I got that Christmas Carol GWP too, it’s lovely, though I modded the book spine to be rounded all the way.

 

Has anyone tried any of the Brick Vault lightsabers yet?

 

We got the Ford Mustang and got the Christmas Carol set with it. We gave it to my 78-year old mother today for Saint Nicholas, because it fits right in with her interior and she's an Anglophile. At first she was like "I don't want LEGO!", but we built it for her and she adores it.

We just had dinner and I was looking at it, thinking: that spine bit bugs me.
And of course, I go online and I see that Jaypes has modded just that.

I'm tempted to buy the Lego AT-AT model they have at my local Target. Models with lots of pieces are fun, but they take all day to do.

 

Unless it’s something specific I’m a fan, like the Ecto 1, I only get large sets precisely because they take a while. But I don’t really binge build, I’ll do a bag or two a day to spread it out.

 

My Robby the Robot Ideas submission finally got approved (quite the ordeal). Would appreciate any support, even if it’s not something you’d end up buying.

Currently attempting to buy all the pieces for Bespin Duel build. I had been hoping to get it for xmas. Vader and Luke may be a problem, but none of the other pieces are exclusive to the build. Some of the pieces are out of stock on lego.com. Would anybody suggest going to a lego store for individual pieces? bricklink seems to get expensive fast what with a bunch of different shipping costs.

Bricklink has a feature where you can add pieces to a wanted list and then search for them together as one bunch. If it's just a few pieces, one store might have all of them. The shipping is annoying, but to me it's the best way to find missing pieces. (no Lego stores near me, so I don't know what the chances of finding specific pieces there is)

 

I've bought a couple of Lego Creator sets lately including;

31109: Pirate Ship

 

New Space Shuttle kit next month. This looks fantastic. I am absolutely getting this. Discovery will look great with my Saturn V, the International Space Station and the Moon Lander.
