OK guys I'm totally ready for this thread 2.0. Oh yeah. Let the verbal blood and tears commence.
In the words of Jar Jar
'Thisa gonna get messy!'...….
Going to be watching this thread closely. I do not want to see a repeat of the previous thread on this.
I loved how you closed the other one.
So does this mean we are getting a new RPG line? Because the other shows have lined up with the ffg books
Mando-Edge of Empire
Kenobi-Force and Destiny
Cassian-Age of Rebellion
It just makes sense people.
Man y'all are making me wish I hadn't missed the apparently legendary (?) previous version (?) of this thread.
Anyway I have no idea who this person is nor have I ever seen any show she's worked on, so I would like to go ahead and claim "neutral observer" status in the apparent oncoming mayhem (?).
I submit that anyone who wants to weigh in on this must first watch Russian Doll. We're all quarantined and it's only four hours, you have no excuse.
Here you go.
My prediction for this one is that it's going to be far less likely to be full of garbage comments because "female centric" isn't in the thread title.
Two hours if you watch it at double speed (this is how I did it, a year ago). I loved it, very quirky characters, a surprising resolution, I'd like a Star Wars show in the same way. Of course, I have a peeve with the fact that the premise implies that
morality is ontologically fundamental
but I guess it's hard to escape that mindset in fantasy (after all, it's like that in most of Star Wars). Also, Russian Doll had two other co-creators beside Headland.
From a Legal side Disney seem like they are taking a risk with Hedland. Wasn't she Weinsteins Assistant. Anything could potentially pop up in the future they don't know about and could distract from the series.
Also from an interview recently with her, it seems clear she's not that familiar with Starwars or is that big a fan. Which for me is a worry. At least with Filoni good or bad,he is familiar with Starwars and the EU. That counts
Honestly wish they hire more non-Star Wars fan, get more of a fresh perspective away from the bias of this mad fandom.
Really, it seems like they've mainly hired non fans (some claimed otherwise I know but that was just spin) and who only coldly saw it as a cash grab ie it has Starwars on it so it will sell. Somone who just looks at Starwars like that is not gonna be interested in telling a good story.
I would watch Russian Doll but my to watchlist is hundreds deep across multiple platforms so I'll just take people's word for it that it's good and wait for this show to come out.
She was his personal assistant for a year, who knows what she did or didn't arrange. Put I doubt much will come from it.
Eh, people don't have to be fans, they do need to respect the product though. It helps that this will be a 'new era' (high republic maybe?).
Assuming this show happens, since nothing will start production for at least a year and there is no telling what the situation will look like then.
I'm convinced she is a SW fan.
She is indeed a SW fan.
I love her answer to what is her favorite Star Wars film...Not the generic "Empire" which is SOOOO BORING!
One day when someone says their favorite film is Rise of Skywalker or Last Jedi....I will be a happy man.
Or better...they say their favorite one is Phantom Menace.
The Phantom Menace is my wife's favorite, actually.
Ham and eggs or Hamburger?
I love it, bring in more females.
