Fight Island in July anyone?

 

They announced already that the regular time slots will be kept therefore since it takes place in Abu Dhabi prelims will be fought in the middle of the night while the main events will be like 6-7 am local time. Imagine getting up at 4:00 am in the morning to go fight a MMA match with the entire world watching.

Like I just said on Twitter, if she can't stand at the scale, then she shouldn't fight tomorrow.

Eye missed weight by 0.25 pounds and she was very shaky leaving the scale, not looking at all healthy.

The tweet I meant to put in here was from MMA Photojournalist Heidi Fang that captured Eye saying at the scale that she couldn't walk. It was piggybacked by Helwani. I responded to Helwani's tweet with "If she can't stand on the scale, she shouldn't be fighting tomorrow."

Yeah I couldn't figure out what the baby pandas had to do with mixed martial arts, but I was too scared to ask.

 

Granted, I would be too, but no I didn't realize I had apparently hadn't copied the code of Helwani's tweet and just posted what I last C&P'd in the Cute Overload thread which was the Baby Pandas.

BTW, Masvidal has been negotiating to try and replace Burns and has taken a COVID-19 test (just saw the pics tweeted out)

 

Ironically @Juliet316 that be the bigger fight. I hope it comes thru.

 

At least Dana is at least making an attempt at making it appear like he cares about fighter safety as opposed to Vince McMahon who only started doing COVID testing protocols when wrestlers came down with COVID.

 

Anyone outside of DJT @Juliet316 is above Vince when it comes to COVID-19 safety. I don't like how early Dana brought cards back but I do think the system they have going on seems to be working so for that I will give him some credit. I just be livid if I was in the America Samona. Yes Dana is bringing a lot of $$$ there especially since the talk is they will bring back cards back when this is all over to help with tourism but still .....there are currently no cases of it on the inland. That is about to change!

This is the only way to really bring sports back until medicines and vaccines are available unless it's golf where social distancing is a fabric of the sport.

 

Give Dana credit: He's been at the forefront in trying to make sure the events are as safe as possible and the testing protocols are as tight as possible (the Jacare near debacle notwithstanding)

 

That seems looking back on it @Juliet316 was just a learning experience because they been much tighter with everything since.

 

Masvidal's coach Mike Brown isn't making the trip to Fight Island as he tested positive for COVID -19 earlier this week.
