That was a nice touch that fans loved. We all know who will take the vacant Red Five callsign !

Those mustaches were Biggles-worthy! I LOVED them.. and how cool to see them on their sorties .. blowing up Eadu only to then have the politicians in the base criticizing the mission..

It's because they can't get them out of the cockpits afterwards.

The blue leader general seemed kinda cool. Too bad he died off. Got killed by a lame atmospheric fighter.

I do have to say I like the blue squadron flight suits a lot. Much more subdued than the normal orange ones which are a bit of an eyesore even if they are iconic.

I would have liked to have seen Porkins again. Alas, no Porkins.

Still, at least there were a couple of pilots here in Rogue One that later return for the assault on the Death Star in "A New Hope".

The Porkins of Rogue One... I think that's why we didn't get a Porkins cameo.

How many fighters got through the shield gate? Because Blue Squadron really took the fight to the Empire despite having limited numbers and no reinforcements.

Those are my kind of pilots.

Five X-wings didn't make it into the shield gate. 2 Crashed into the shield and 3 pulled up.

7 X-wings and a Troop Transport made it in I believe. All from Blue Squadron.

I had no idea that the filmmakers were going to make use of old ANH outtakes in R1. Amazing work.

I loved it too. But their shots were definitely a little off quality wise. Must have the older model dash mounted GoPros compared to Blue Leader. The General gets the new tech. ;)

Now that I look at it, I only ever see 6 X-wings and 1 Troop Transport at the same time. Right after they hit the first AT-ACT walker.

That makes 12 ships including the 5 that didn't make it in. Was a 12th X-wing replaced by the Troop Transport to fill the squadron? Hmm.

What happened to admiral Raddus? The flag ship was disabled, does it mean that he escaped on the board of Tantive? Or he is dead - the bridge was destroyed by Vader's cruiser? Or he is still there and didn't manage to escape?
