IC: Lieutenant Ewlla Iillor, Agent Mitch Nifesta, skies south of Windsor Barracks

Ewlla settled to enjoy the journey. While part of her felt she should be back at the camp, saving civilians, and rallying troops, she was able to justify this flight to herself that she was still on Company business as it were, even if she was finding the warm, dry air, and buffeting wind, quite pleasant.

She looked across at her 'uncle's serene face, as he gazed out at the passing terrain.

This was getting to be like Tatooine all over again, danger and intrigue over a desert planet. The local farmers, she knew, would have the right hump, her calling their agricultural planet that. Fact was, she was being kind.

Ewlla became aware that the twi'lek was holding a credit chip under her nose, while the troopers and agents interacted among themselves.

"What's this?" She eyed the sophisticated, every-day device, carefully.

"Republic daqtari."

"I know that; why are you showing it to me?" The wind pushed hair into her face, and she brushed them aside, automatically.

"I am going to get some kip. When the being with the duty-free trolley rolls by, can you-"

"Oh, I get it." Ewlla rolled her eyes. "Someone has been putting ideas into your head, huh? That you are funny, am I right?"

"Am I not?" He sounded and looked genuinely surprised, and Ewlla was hurting her own face trying not to laugh. She didn't want to humour the old bugger.

She leaned towards him, elbows on her lap. "No! If you were with Queen Amidala at the Geonosis Rescue, she probably jumped out of that lartie." She wondered how long it was to this cave

OOC: I'm back on-line again (hopefully for a long while, this time). Dealing with viruses, mechanical issues, and limited internet access for the past month and a half, I've got to catch up on things and get this game rolling again (and work our new characters into the mix as well. Welcome to the game AMNDRAG!) I'll be posting IC very soon.

IC: Saesee Tiin
Location: inside the Acclamator II-class assault ship Warmonger - in the blockade around Nadiem - Outer Rim

The clone trooper ushered the two new visitors into the control room and exited, closing the door behind him. High Jedi General Saesee Tiin turned to look at them. One was wearing Mandalorian armor.

So these were the two new MI5 agents M sent from Coruscant?

The people in the Flying Eyeballs spy organization were keeping tabs on the undercover MI5 agents on the planets surface. But when the team split (some helping with the evacuation of civilians and the rest continuing with their mission), MI5 decided they wanted more agents actually heading to the cave and going along with the mission. So, the Head of MI5, the man only known as "M", sent two more agents to the Outer Rim.

Teras Maldern and Selena Aryston had been escorted to the planet Nadiem...and rather quickly, Tiin thought to himself.

He addressed the new agents. "As you know, the battle is raging on Nadiem's surface. One of our Jedi Generals seems to have disappeared, which is why MI5 is aiding us. Jedi General Sharkey was last seen by his squad of clones entering a cave out in the desert near Threadneedle Canyon. He never returned. Some of your fellow agents are already en route with those clones to investigate. You two will rendezvous with them at the cave. We're readying a ship to escort you down to the planet's surface as we speak."

He turned and grabbed what looked like dirty rags off of the table in front of him. He lifted them up to give to the two agents. "This is a time of war, and it's crucial that you remain undercover. MI5's presence here is to be unknown to all but myself. I'm sorry to say that Mandalorian armor will stick out like a sore thumb on Nadiem. You'll have to wear these civilian farmers clothing to help blend in. You're welcome to wear the armor underneath, but I don't know how comfortable that will be."

Location: on a ship, headed for the cave - Nadiem - Outer Rim

A message was relayed from Mission Supervisor Pythia Rayya aboard the Flying Eyeball space station to the agents comm-devices in their ears. "Orders from HQ. Two more agents are to rendezvous with you at the cave. Teras Maldern and Selena Aryston are currently aboard the Warmonger getting a quick briefing by Saesee Tiin. They will be arriving on-planet shortly."

Shasta Moonreaper looked toward Rax Chopchura. "Two more," she commented.

Half their original team had stayed behind to help with the evacuation (all those characters who have been abandoned by their players). So the team that was left was considerably smaller. Shasta, Rax, Nifesta, and Rex were the only agents left on the mission. Two more would certainly help the situation.

Shasta looked at the clone piloting the LAAT. "How much further?"

The clone, called Toe Drag, responded, "Just a few more minutes."

Shasta Moonreaper looked toward Rax Chopchura. "Two more," she commented.

Iillor, who was letting the dry cool breezes buffet her face through the open sides as the lartie cut through the air over the fields, pulled back inside, internal warning bells triggered by Moonreaper's ominous-sounding tones.

"Two more?" she echoed, looking from the blonde civilian to the unusual clonetrooper. "Two more what?"

"CBI agents," Nifesta supplied without opening his eyes. He was slumped sideways in the seat, with his own face flat against the inside of the bulkhead, forward of the port side opening. "Sounds like we are bringing out the big guns to find this jedi." He yawned over-dramatically

Shasta looked at the clone piloting the LAAT. "How much further?"

The clone, called Toe Drag, responded, "Just a few more minutes."

Mitch, his eyes still shut, decided to wait to see how this played out.

IC: Rax Chopchura, Rex Heaven, Shasta Moonreaper, Wrister, Five-hole, Goon, Hat Trick, Toe Drag, Pythia Rayya
Location: Unnamed cave west of Threadneedle Canyon - Nadiem

Toe Drag announced to his passengers, "Here we are." He gently set the LAAT down on the ground, blowing dirt everywhere as it touched down.

Wrister was one of the first to hop out of the ship and into the direct sunlight. The other clones, Five-hole, Goon and Hat Trick followed. Noticing they were setting up a simple formation to make sure the area was clear, Rax Chopchura (still wearing his clone armor) jumped out as well. His feet hit the dirt and he dropped to one knee. He swung his weapon from side to side looking for anything suspicious. There was nothing.

"All clear," Wrister reported.

Veteran agent Shasta Moonreaper looked out toward the cave. Sure enough, it was a gaping hole embedded in the side of a small hill, ramping down into the bowels of the planet. She wasn't sure what to expect when they entered it.

Rex Heaven, having stayed sober for this long, wasn't very strong in the Force without his alcohol. But, he couldn't feel anything in the Force. He remembered the clones saying something about Sharkey sensing something. He felt nothing. He glanced toward Mitch Nifesta, who he figured would feel nothing in the Force as well, and shrugged.

"As Toe Drag said, here it is," Five-hole said to the non-clones. "Not much to look at, eh?"

Through her earpiece, Shasta heard Pythia Rayya's voice again. "There's a little delay with your new arrivals. Proceed without them." Rax and Rex heard the Mission Supervisor's brief orders as well.

"Shall we go inside?" Rex asked.

"Stay here, sir," Wrister told him. "We'll head in first and make sure the area's clear." He waved an arm to signal the other clones to follow. "Toe Drag, stay with the ship."

"Affirmative, sir," Toe Drag responded. He watched the four clones and the disguised Rax head toward the cave's entrance.

The five of them crept in slowly, blasters at the ready.

Rax was quickly going over everything he had read in the trip to Nadiem aboard the Gunboat Diplomat in regards to the clone troopers. He was trying to remember formations and things like that.

As they moved further down the sloped ground, it grew darker and darker. One of the clones, Rax thought it was Goon, attached a small light to his helmet and switched it on. The immediate area was now bathed in white light.

Further down, the tunnel started to curve a little to the right. They hadn't found anything dangerous thus far.

- - - - -

Up in the surface, Rex Heaven was pacing back and forth, kicking up dust as he took each step.

Shasta patiently waited. She could hear Toe Drag in the cockpit of the LAAT whistling some tune she didn't recognize.

Rex finally said, "This is ridiculous. We should just head in there after them."

Before Shasta could respond, the clones emerged from the cave. "The first few hundred yards are all clear. Nothing but dirt and rock." Wrister reported, waving them to join his clones.

Location: Nadiem, south of Windsor Barracks

As the flyer settled onto the hard ground, Ewlla had already decided to take the initiative, and her elasticated seatbelt was unsnapped and retracting across her lap.

?Stay onboard. Let me check the area, first?

She sucked under the door frame, and jumped out of the LAAT, leaving Mitch inside to lean close to the pilot. ?Look at her.? He proudly invited, ?large and in charge.?

?Are you saying I?m fat?? She turned to look up into the craft, and he noticed the threatening tone entering her voice, like a coiled Kodashi viper. He could almost feel her tail rattling.

?No. No. The words just rhymed, is all.?

?Okay then.?

The twi?lek felt a twinge of guilt as Analyst Pythia?s voice came over his comlink: "There's a little delay with your new arrivals. Proceed without them."

?Ah sorry, Analyst. If they are being questioned about a missing be-ribboned, chrome-plated Q2 holdout blaster, that, ah, that was me.? He didn?t feel particularly better for coming clean, but Q Branch could kiss his *** if they wanted to make something of it.

The clonetroopers were milling about, doing a threat assessment.

"Shall we go inside?" Rex asked.

"Stay here, sir," Wrister told him. "We'll head in first and make sure the area's clear." He waved an arm to signal the other clones to follow. "Toe Drag, stay with the ship."

Mitch undid his safety webbing, and jumped out beside his niece. While the others checked the horizon and the hills, his own eyes scanned the skies for Trade Federation Vulture droids, or Scarabs.
Satisfied, he leaned in to whisper to Ewlla, ?Clear. You know, if we met any troopers called Tissue or 3-Ply, they and Wrister will be great together.?

The lieutenant elbowed him sharply in the midriff. ?Will you stop going on about his name? You are going to give him a complex!? She turned her face away, though, not wanting her smile to encourage him.

Agent Nifesta finally turned his attention to the cave, and trotted over to look into the darkness. He peered attentively inside. ?Wow, that?s dark. Can?t see a damn thing.?

?Could it be because you are still wearing your sunglasses??

?Ah-ha.? Mitch took the polarised set off, folding the handles. ?Bit better. Besides, I was testing you.?

?Sure you were,? She teased, staying several metres from the cave entrance.

There was just enough ambient light from outside for him to spy that the cave floor went down quite sharply. Too sharply for his liking. ?Troopers, break out your rappel lines. Ewlla, Shasta, stay close to the right-hand wall, and behind me. If you slip, I?ll be in front to stop you.?

He thought back to the platoon?s story that their General had ordered them to turn back, and considered what it would be like descending that natural ramp while wearing their Phase I or Phase II helmets.

?Sharkey probably saved your lives,? he muttered under his breath.

Behind him, Toe Drag was in the cockpit, whistling a tune that Mitch did not recognise, but then he had been out of the cultural loop for many many years.

?This is ridiculous. We should just head in there after them.? Rax opined, eventually.

?Hope you bounce well.?

Just then, the scouting party emerged into the daylight. "The first few hundred yards are all clear. Nothing but dirt and rock."

Though he wondered what else Wrister expected to find in a cave, the twi?lek chose not to be sarcastic. ?What about the footing?? He asked, ?Looks pretty steep??

Obviously Nifesta didn't like the angle of the slope.

Wrister responded to him, "Clones are trained for such situations, but we can set up repel lines if you wish, sir." He turned to look at Five-hole.

Before Wrister could even give the order, Five-hole said, "Right away, sir," and rushed back in, unhooking equipment from his utility belt.

The sober Rex peeked into the cave. "Pretty bad slope, eh? Great..." He shook his head.

Rax Chopchura flashed back to the briefing room when Rex was drooling on his shoulder. "Don't worry, we can always just roll you all the way down," the disguised Pantoran said to him. "Sir."

Rex shot him a glance.

Shasta stepped in and focused on the cave's opening. "Alright, boys. Enough of this banter. The Jedi General is counting on us." Walking into the cave, she asked, "How's it coming?"

Five-hole approached her and saluted. "Repel lines are set up and ready for use, sir. Uh...ma'am."

"Good," Shasta turned to the others. "Let's go."

IC: Lieutenant Ewlla Iillor, Agent Mitch Nifesta, cave entrance.

Ewlla overheard one of the soldiers telling her uncle that clones were trained for slopes, and turned from them, looking speculatively towards the parked lartie. ?Last time I inventoried one of those things, they had an IM-6 medical droid aboard.?

?So?? Mitch watched her. He really had no intention of letting the shorter female out of his sight. Age-wise, she really wasn?t that much younger than Shasta, ten Standard Years maybe, but to a long-lived being like himself, that was pocket change.
Add to that, he hadn?t seen her since she was twenty-two, and it was hard to look at a middle-aged woman, and not see a child that needed guidance and nurturing.

?So, they have repulsors, and multiple glowbeams. We could do with it down there.?

Nifesta nodded his appreciation for her idea. ?Good thinking, Batgirl.?

The officer raised a curious eyebrow towards him. ?Bat....girl??

The twi?lek tried to wave away the reference. ?Ah, forget it. Different time, different place.?

Shasta stepped in on Rax and Rex back and forth. ?Alright, boys. Enough of this banter. The Jedi General is counting on us.

?He better be.? Ewlla trotted round the back of the craft to open one of the sealed compartments. ?Hey, we got a speeder bike too.?

?Too much unknown about the cave system, to do us any good inside, Ewlla. Leave it.?

Iillor nodded. ?Right.? Her hands dug through the backup weapons and medical supplies, looking for the med-droid?s container. It would be the size and shape of a sub adult?s school backpack. ?You guys need to keep these things tidier.?

At the mouth entrance, one of the clonetroopers announced that the rappel lines were in place, with the blonde woman acknowledging.

Mitch turned to the gathered agents and troops, attempting to seek out Wrister, whom he accepted, perhaps erroneously, as the leader of the clones. ?Sergeant, you need to organise what order you want us to descend the slope in. I would suggest single file, two troops leading.?

?The med-droid leading!? Iillor called from the lartie.

?Of course.?

"Ready to heal," the droid said in it's mechanical voice.

"Goon. Hat Trick. You two follow the droid down the slope," Wrister ordered. "Five-hole, you and Toe Drag pick up the rear. Chopper and I will stay in the center of the group with Lieutenant Iillor and the investigators."

"After you, you bucket of bolts," Hat Trick said to the droid as it floated by and slowly descended into the cave.

The agent hooked himself and Ewlla onto the same rappel line, and made sure he was in front of her, heading down.

Pulling on the line to test it could support them, he stepped after the lead clones, placing his boots carefully on the sloping tunnel floor.

Their glowrod beams, combined with the heads and shoulders of the troops leading the way, threw scarily eerie shadows against the dark walls and behind rocks.

He hoped Ewlla would be able to sleep tonight...

The clone trooper ushered the new visitor into the control room where High Jedi General Saesee Tiin stood waiting. He was the only one in the room. As the clone headed for the door again, he wondered why General Tiin wanted to see so many civilians. This was a time of war. Why bring civilians aboard the ship?

MI5 had decided they wanted more agents investigating that cave on the planet's surface, since half the agents stayed behind to help the evacuation at Threadneedle Canyon. So, here he was.

"Since you're needed on the planet's surface," General Tiin started, "I'll keep this brief, but you need to understand our current situation. The daylight was unable to shine that far down into the cave. The clone's once again turned the lights on that they had attached to their helmets. Unfortunately, Rax Chopchura didn't have a light of any kind. Something that Q Branch forgot to add to the armor, perhaps? So the few spotlights, glowrods and whatever light the droid was giving off illuminated the darkened cave.

At the bottom of the slope, as the ground began leveling out, it started to curve.

Shasta Moonreaper, the veteran agent, examined the interior of the cave. The "ceiling" of the cave was just over 8 feet high (or roughly 2 and a half meters), and the width of the cave was about twice that. There were no stalactites, stalagmites or anything of that sort. Just a tunnel...as if something had burrowed through. This underground tunnel almost looked man-made.

Rex Heaven still couldn't feel anything in the Force. That part of the clones report must have been inaccurate. But why would Sharkey tell them he felt something?

Goon and Hat Trick, the two lead clones, followed the droid as it began to move along the curving tunnel.

"Everybody okay?" Shasta asked the others as they reached the bottom of the repel lines to meet the level portion of the cave floor.

Antares Reldin looked around the conference room as he was escorted in. Clean, crisped...pressed, if that could be applied to a room. It was everything you would come to expect from the military.

Antares sat awkwardly in the chair that was obviously not designed for Ryn. He briefly considered skinshifting but the General did not know he was a Shi'ido, very few did.

"Since you're needed on the planet's surface," General Tiin started, "I'll keep this brief, but you need to understand our current situation. Antares nodded slowly to himself. He should be all prepared, his pack should already be on the flight deck.

"General, I do believe I am ready to go. Is this team the only one in the cave? Anyone else should be considered hostile?" Antares asked.

Tiin explained that they were the only team in the cave, and if they encountered anyone else in there, they should be extremely cautious. There's no telling who or what may be in that cave.

After the meeting, the agent was escorted to the docking bay where a clone pilot named Driver was waiting in a Low Altitude Assault Transport (LAAT). Due to MI5 secrecy, the pilot was only told to take this Ryn to specific coordinates and not ask questions.

Driver was beginning to get used to that. He was given similar orders when he ferried the first group to the planet.

The LAAT, carrying Antares Reldin and whatever supplies he brought with him, swooped down closer to the ground. The wind whistled through the openings in the ship as it flew.

Driver turned to the Ryn and said, "Sorry about the long trip, sir. We had to take a slight detour so we wouldn't draw the attention of the Separatist Vulture droids. After all, there is a battle raging not to far from here." He pointed his thumb behind him indicating Threadneedle Canyon, which was now several miles away. "We'll be reaching your destination in just a few minutes, sir."

Antares picked up a single pack from the hangar deck and heftied it onto his shoulder. A few essentials, anything else he needed could be acquired on the planet, or so he assumed.

His pilot was already finishing the pre-flight check when Antares stepped on-board. Like most of the other military personnel, the pilot regarded Antares just like anyone else, cargo. Antares liked that about the military, sure they were boring cardboard cut-outs, but any anti-Ryn sentiment was washed away by the face of the government for which they labored, at least in the civilized parts of the galaxy. There were quite a few systems in Wild Space, the Corporate Sector and along the Unknown Regions that authorized the hunting of Ryn, Antares shuttered at the thought...and memories.

As they lifted off Antares chose to stand, sitting was awkward with a tail and he could balance himself better standing up. The atmosphere buffeted them as they descended to the planet. He could see hot spots all over, in the distance a dogfight in high orbit was in full swing. As they got lower the pilot opened the side doors and the sounds of battle filled the LAAT. Antares knelt down and opened his pack.

A DC-15S carbine, extra power packs, thermal detonators, a slicers wrist pad, security blades for breaking through locked doors and an acid-based chemical bomb. Antares clipped the carbine to his belt, pocketed the ammo and blades. He slid the wrist pad onto his arm and activated it. He pressed a 6-button sequence on the chemical bomb and put it back in the pack and quickly tossed the pack out the open door. Antares leaned precariously far out of the LAAT and watched as the pack exploded into a very small cloud of green mist. The acid dissolved the pack but as the wind carried the mist it became harmless.

Driver turned to the Ryn and said, "Sorry about the long trip, sir. We had to take a slight detour so we wouldn't draw the attention of the Separatist Vulture droids. After all, there is a battle raging not too far from here." He pointed his thumb behind him indicating Threadneedle Canyon, which was now several miles away. "We'll be reaching your destination in just a few minutes, sir."

Antares turned towards the driver with a sly grin. "I don?t think I have ever been called Sir so many times.?

A few minutes later the LAAT landed in a small clearing in the middle of nowhere, the pilot seemed to be used to it.

?Thanks for the trip, don?t wait up.? Antares winked at the pilot.

He hopped off the LAAT and made a quick dash to some cover before checking his wrist pad. He heard the LAAT blast off towards the safety of the blockade as he made his way towards the cave.

As he approached the mouth of the cave he realized he did not know any of the team he was supposed to be meeting. He shrugged and took a few steps in, it was dark. Rather than turn on a light, which would alert everyone to where he was, he stepped out of the cave and put in some night-vision contact lenses. While they were still in the process of being perfected, they worked well enough, giving everything a dull blue hue. They would even dim in normal light. Antares double checked his carbine and then set off into the cave in search of the team. After several minutes he clicked his comm link on the frequency he had been given by the General, hoping to alert the team to his presence, sneaking up on another MI5 agent would not be healthy.

OOC: This post was brought to you by the Aurabesh letters Grek (G) and Senth (S).

IC: Lieutenant Ewlla Iillor, Agent Mitch Nifesta, bottom of entrance slope.

Ewlla unlatched the rappel rope from her navy blue Judicial Forces? uniform?s belt, and stepped forwards to join the lead troops in shining her glowrod over the walls, and the path ahead.

Her skirt rippled slightly, the cave air was pleasantly cool against her legs, but there was not sufficient breeze for her to suspect another opening to the surface.

She surmised that the clones, fully armoured as they were, would not have the benefit of being to judge movement of air.

?Everyone okay?? The older, blonde woman, enquired, as they reached the bottom.

At least she, Ewlla noted, was being given the freedom to play the senior role among her fellow agents.

She herself, wasn?t. And she could not wholly blame her uncle?s arrival for that. Though they took the orders of non-clone officers, she had a nagging feeling that Toe Drag and the others regarded her and others? presence alongside them on Nadiem, as Accompany-Daddy-To-Work Day.

The lieutenant rolled her eyes as she realised why, all of a sudden. Though force-grown to adulthood, in terms of years, they were kids! And younglings all thought they knew it all.

The squad had returned to Windsor without General Sharkey because he had ordered them to leave him. If not for that instruction, they probably wouldn?t have trusted him to go down the shops!

Several feet behind her, the tan-cloaked Agent Nifesta was thinking that the Q Branch-supplied comlink had good range. He was getting quite a clear signal down here.

?Situation has changed up here. You're getting one new agent. Antares Reldin is en route to your position. Wait for him before proceeding. Rayya out.?

?Guys?? He called softly, just enough so the group heard him. ?We?ve got another?helper coming. We are to hold position until he, she, or it, gets here.? Moving from the wall, he found his progress hindered by the rappel attachment, and shifted round to get a look where he was connected. ?We?ve probably got time for a game of I-Spy. I spy, with-?

Ewlla rolled her eyes, but figured she had this covered if it was an R or an S.

?-something beginning with ?S?.?

?Shadows.? It wasn?t even a question.

Mitch beamed, thick white fingers pulling ineffectually at the rappel latch. ?Clever girl! Well done.?

?Not really. I just know the way you think, is all.?

?You know how this works, Ewlla.? Mitch looked down at her, nonchalantly hiding that he was stuck. ?if you answer correctly, you have to do the next one.?

?Oh fr-? She stopped herself in time, innocently continuing, ?-do I? Ah well, I spy, with my little eye, something beginning with Grek.?

Antares continued down the cave, the entrance started to slope downwards and he slowed his pace. He heard voices ahead and cautiously moved forward. When he heard people playing I-spy he grinned a bit. He approached the group, recognizing the equipment.

His tail swishes back and fourth behind as he approached. He let out a dull whistle from his beak-like nose.

"Grek? Try again...I'm Antares Reldin. Sorry for being late, my luxury speeder decided not to play with the vultures." Antares introduced himself. "As much as us Ryn like a good game of I-Spy, I assume you've done enough waiting?"

?Grek? Try again...I'm Antares Reldin. Sorry for being late, my luxury speeder decided not to play with the vultures.?

?Oh, hi.? Mitch waved from the wall, . ?Mitch Nifesta, CBI.? He definitely felt like he had discovered the solution to his inability to maintain a cover; just pretend to be an operative for another agency! Frankly, he would be the Twi'lek frrom U.N.CL.E. if they let him.

Ewlla looked around, smiling at Reltin, and then stepping forward to shake his paw, ?Hello there! So, you are a...? She faltered, ?actually, I have no idea what you are.?

?As much as us Ryn like a good game of I-Spy, I assume you've done enough waiting??

The lieutenant raised a curious eyebrow. ?Ryn? I do not believe I have heard of your people.?
She forgave herself the oversight. This was a vast galaxy, with many common species, but also a fair number of rarely encountered ones too.

Her life had been regimented in one form or another, going straight from school to college, to Sector Naval Academy, to Judicial Forces, so her peers had been school-mates, college friends, Academy class mates, and then military personnel, little opportunity outside the Tatooine Incident for her to encounter any exotic species, like this whistly-nosed fellow.

?You kids go on ahead.? The twi'lek invited, leaning his right shoulder on the cave wall, beside the horizontal rappel line, arms crossed. ?I will hang back, make sure Antares was not followed.?

Antares nodded towards the guy on the wall.

"Mitch of CBI." Antares smiled and noticed the repelling equipment he was in. "We should hang out."

A short whistle came from his beak like nose, he very much entertained himself. He turned to regard Ewlla, who faltered at identifying him as a Ryn.

Antares put on his best dashing smile.

"You should probably count that a plus. We are not held in very high regard. People love sabacc but not the people who created it, ironic, no? We usually like to stay out of the lime light. So, looks like we are doing some repelling?" Antares did not look excited about the prospect of anything related to rock climbing.

IC: Shasta Moonreaper, Rex Heaven, Rax Chopchura, and the clones
Location: the cave

"Sabacc," the human Rex Heaven repeated. He remembered playing sabacc...way back before joining MI5. Those were the days when his actions may have been...questionable. The gambling, the drinking, the easy women. He missed those days.

"If there is any more repelling to do," the veteran agent Shasta Moonreaper said, "I hope it's not any steeper than that." She pointed to the slope they just climbed down. "I'm getting too old for this." At 50 years old, she was surprisingly in good shape. But at times, she felt her age was slowly catching up with her.

"Good to have you with us, Reldin," she added, nodding to the Ryn agent.

As the clones leading the group carried on through the dark cave, the spotlights and glowrods revealed a rather deep pit. It was so deep that the light from the spotlights attached to the clones helmets couldn't reach the bottom.

"Great. Now what?" the clone named Goon asked.

Wrister, the clone temporarily in charge of the squad, saw something glint along the wall when he swung his light around. "Look." He walked over to the wall of the cave. There was a durasteel plank that ran along the wall, over the pit, and to the other side. There was also a hand rail attached to it.

Shasta made her way to the new discovery. "A walkway? Someone has been here before."

"Everyone be on your guard," Wrister said, just before stepping on to the durasteel walkway. The medical droid floated behind him and made it safely to the other side.

Location: Nadiem Cave, chasm

Antares momentarily regretted showing up as a Ryn. The deep chasm looked ominous, it looked like it facilitated people going down, not coming back up.

Shoulda come as Kushiban, nice and light. Antares thought dryly.

He moved to the durasteel plank Wrister had just moved across. He as well go next.

He cautiously put one booted foot on the plank, it wasnt too shaky, thank god. He gripped the railing and quietly made it across the chasm. He moved a few meters down the tunnel and crouched, cradling his blaster carbine, waiting for the rest if the team.

IC: Lieutenant Ewlla Iillor, Agent Mitch Nifesta, cave floor.

Ewlla had unexpectedly found herself blushing at the Ryn's "most dashing grin"

"You should probably count that a plus. We are not held in very high regard. People love sabacc but not the people who created it, ironic, no? We usually like to stay out of the lime light. So, looks like we are doing some repelling?"

She had crossed her arms and regarded the newcomer intently, the fact not escaping her notice that he had descended this far not even suspecting rappel lines to be an idea. Put that with the clones being trained for this; her own military basics and experience on several campaigns featuring a lot of places worse than this, and most of the MI5 people not complaining.
In fact, the whole deal with the rappel lines had been to appease the twi'lek!

She pointedly followed the others, as they proceeded deeper into the tunnel, and with them, discovered the dark mouth of a pit in the cave floor.
The agents were rubbish at playing civilians; none of them hawked up phlegm to flob into the hole; dropped in a rock, or a lit flare to determine how deep.

Wrister, the lead clone temporarily in charge of the squad, saw something glint along the wall when he swung his light around. "Look." He walked over to the wall of the cave. There was a durasteel plank that ran along the wall, over the pit, and to the other side. There was also a hand rail attached to it.

Shasta, rather than playing Twenty Questions, identified it right off: "A walkway? Someone has been here before."

"Everyone be on your guard," Wrister said, just before stepping on to the durasteel walkway.

Iillor hefted her blaster and followed Wrister and the Ryn over the walkway, with barely a glance over the railing into the depths. She joined them on the other side, dropping to one knee by the rough tunnel wall.
With Antares settled a few metres further down the tunnel, and likely to take the brunt of any attack, she took a moment to slot the short black cylinder of her glowrod along the top of Uncle Mitch's S-5 holdout, so that the white beam aimed where she pointed the weapon.

She rose and joined the newcomer, kneeling by the opposite wall, level with him. "So, you any good at Sabacc, yourself?"

Left behind by the group, Nifesta waited until he saw the last of them disappear beyond the turn in the tunnel, then broke out the Q'u Branch comlink laser.
He squinted against the intense flash of light that flared between him and the wall, as he used the device to cut himself free off the rappel line.

A quick glance up the slope towards the distant circle of daylight, to keep to his promise of making sure the new agent had been followed, then he put the extinguished comlink away, and hurried off after the others.
