I love Form V and Form VI a lot. I guess I am going to have to go with Form VI for its practicality. What's the point of being a force-wielder if you only use force-based physical augmentation in a duel? Let's get some pushes, throws, pulls, lightning, etc. in a lightsaber sequence. At its highest level, Niman is extremely deadly. Just look at Revan, Kao Cen Derach, Exar Kun, Darth Sidious, and Darth Krayt.

My favorite is Shii-Cho, particularly the "mastered" version of it, fighting being one with the Force in your movements, a force of nature (no pun intended) examples of this are Lucien Draay and Fisto, especially Fisto.

It's why i chose that discipline with my Jedi on SWTOR, i wanted to have him in-lore fight like a Fisto tactic-wise.

Also, Vaapad takes the second place as it is one of the coolest and most complex fighting styles in the SW Universe, the concept itself is fascinating enought that many plot threads are based on it alone.

I would have to say Soresu when used by a master the defensive style is almost invincible. Example OBI-WAN KENOBI

I also am a fan of Makashi who's offensive and defensive capabilities are amazing Example DOOKU

    Makeshi.

    • Makeshi could have had a few more thrusting movements though much like Palpatine in ROTS.

Personally speaking, Dooku and Palps styles are the most interesting to watch for me.

After fencing with my Kenobi saber today, I must say
Shien / Djem So is my favorite. I prefer switching from single hand to two hand techniques, which Form V affords.

Djem So I think was used by Anakin in the Mathew Stover novel Revenge of the sith in the duel with Dooku

Is it actually possible to look at Star Wars media and visually make out whether a particular Jedi is using a particular distinct style? Or is it just "Count Dooku uses Form II, take our word for it...what you see on the screen isn't important"? Pretty sure it's the latter, right?

I thought that it was a case of "the Forms, especially Form II, were described after Episode II came out"

In other words, the writer that described Form II had watched Episode II, noted Dooku's more "fencing-ish" style, and thought "Why not make it a specific lightsaber style?".

Okay maybe Dooku is a bad example, since Christopher Lee was a fencer and probably did have a distinct swordfighting style. But can you really look at a cutscene in KOTOR and say, "Ah-ha! Revan uses Form VI"?

Christopher Lee was known on set to guide GL on what style he wanted to fence with. So this would make sense if Makashi was Lee’s invention.

I thought Nick Gillard said he wanted to give each Jedi their own distinct fighting style.
    Or something to that effect.

I still maintain Luke Skywalker uses Djem So in ROTJ, before we ever see Anakin use it in The Prequels.

Juyo or Vapaad are what i'd aim for, but realistically I would probably need something a bit more defensive.

I think Shien/ Djem So is the best. Shien is great for deflecting blaster bolts and combating Makashi, while Djem So is great for overpowering an opponet.

We see Dooku and Darth Vader defeated by Djem So, and they are among the greatest duelists in Star Wars.

Sadly Revan’s dueling skills are never seen. Before he duels Bastila, Malak opens fire on his ship.

This does raise the curious question of how four armed or six armed sentients would use traditional lightsaber forms with four or six sabers. Would they just adopt Jar-Kai? Or could the Seven Forms be adopted and used with four to six sabers? I see Djem So being the hardest one to use, it requires two hands, thus making four handed or six handed beings having to join their hands, with sabers stacked on top of each other.
