**Discussion in the Council**

It?s been pretty quiet at the Council lately but here?s a rundown of the most important topics:

• Information for Knights and Masters preparing to take a Padawan
  Lately there has been a little confusing regarding when one can take a Padawan and when a Padawan is ready for the Trials. The Council apologises for the confusion caused. These are the current rules for taking a Padawan:
  - a Padawan MUST have completed all the Youngling Missions and any two Padawan missions before they can be trained by a Master/Knight
  - a Padawan is only ready for the Trials when the Padawan has graduated from the Academy. Graduation requires that a Padawan passes missions 1-9.
  - Masters/Knights may no longer train two Padawans.

If anyone has any further questions, please contact any member of the Council and we?ll help you as best we can.

• Ginger?s Super Special Fan Fiction Competition!
  Calling all Lightside fan fiction writers! Take part in the A Lightsiders Life fan fiction competition where you can be the star of your own story depicting an event from your hectic life as a Jedi.
  
  Your story can be any genre - from romance to action/adventure or even a little humour (just keep it rated between G and PG13). It MUST have a Star Wars theme and MUST be set 200 years after Return of the Jedi. You must also write yourself at the current rank you are and you may only change your rank if you recieve a promotion while you are writing your story.
  
  You can involve any member of the Lightside (ask permission from whoever you'd like to include first) alongside the star of the story - you.
  
  You may write solo or in pairs. The winners will recieve permanent colours at the Lightside Lounge and the title "Best Lightside Storyteller 2003" at the Lounge and the Academy.
  
  Stories must be a minimum of two pages (Times Roman font size 12). There is no maximum. Go wild!
  
  I will be the judge of the contest but if anyone would like to be another judge alongside me, PM me. Please note if you become a judge you won't be able to win the competition.
  
  To participate, simply send me a PM telling me you want to write a story and get writing! All stories are to be PM'd to me and I will create a thread for each individual story at the Lounge and a new area at the Academy.
  
  The deadline for the competition is January 1st 2004 - so that's plenty of time for an epic or two Feel free to submit up to three stories. All of the stories will eventually be complied into one big thread.
  
  If you have any questions or want to take part, PM me ASAP!

• Malz4JESUS?s Lightside Icon competition
  I'm starting up the icon contest again! Since no one seemed to have much interest in it before, we'll try it again and hopefully get one uploaded!
  
  This time all LS members can enter and if you win, your icon will be uploaded onto the JC!
  
  It should be 50x50 pixels (but there are widescreen ones now too...you can do that if you want!), and somehow relate to the LightSide. You can enter more than once, make as many icons as you want!

• MIA List
  The Council has recently erased almost every Lightside member listed as MIA. That means they are no longer part of the Lightside and if they wish to rejoin in the future they will have to start from scratch as a Youngling regardless of their previous rank.
