Bill Hader, Jason Sudekis, and Fred Armison all talk radio rolls in GTA IV. I think all 3 of those guys are awesome. They may not have the star power of the likes of Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, or David Spade (yes, saying David Spade has star power is a stretch), but they seem to be 10 times as talented when it comes to the live, quasi-improvisational, sketch comedy of SNL.
Will Ferell returned to play W one more time! Fantastic! "That one's on me- I declared the oval office a "No Bummer Zone" 4 months ago." "Right before you vote, remember this face." Also the bit with the touch-screen map was good. Funny that both SNL and Mythbusters unveil their big touch screens the same week- those things must really be coming down in price. "Here, watch- I'll make Michigan bounce."
I enjoyed the Obama variety half hour. Hammond's Bill Clinton is always great. "I'm standing right here"
How to pick up chicks like Don Draper was epic. I love Mad Men, and Don Draper is my hero. I also loved the Jon Hamm's Johnham Bathroom Ham bit. "If it feels like ham, then don't wipe your ass with it." The "sex offender notification skit" was really funny, I though. Maybe I was just star-struck by Jon Hamm, however. Two A-holes at an Ad Agency in the 1960s was a disappointment despite the cameos by Roger Sterling and Peggy Olsen and the killer impressions of the rest of the central office cast.
A new Vincent Price Special! YES! I am content. "I've never seen someone down something that big so fast before." "I have." It's a good throwback to the skit they had acouple years ago: "Peter Sarsgaard's SARS Guards" Also, Amy did give birth to Archie Arnett last night- congrats Amy!
11:30PM-1AM NBC Saturday Night Live "Idol champ David Cook debuts his single ''Light On.'' Ben Affleck hosts, though we're not exactly sure what he's promoting..."
I still can't stand McCain, but last night's opening was pretty funny. However, I wouldn't have even tuned in if I weren't an American Idol fanatic who wanted to see David Cook (who was awesome). And I just wanted to say I thought that last skit with the 'Times Square Jackets' was hilarious.
I was busting a gut over the Keith Olbermann sketch (to quote Family Guy, "Those are so his mannerisms"), and the giraffe video had me LOL as well.
The opener was great. I enjoyed the View sketch as well. The "reverse maverick" was pretty funny as well.
GIRAFFES! GIRAFFES! God, that video was killing me- so all-out-crazy. GIRAFES! We come from outter space! GIRAFFES! We've come to devour the whole human race! GIRAFFES!
9-10:59PM NBC Saturday Night Live Presidential Bash 2008 "SNL's quadrennial Election Day Eve show features brand new skits, political highlights from recent seasons, and presidential impersonation all-stars (like Will Ferrell's Dubya)." I'll watch this, I guess.
I thought it was great - much funnier than 2004's. They had so much good material to work with this election. For anyone that watched it, which politician was Chevy Chase portraying in the old clips?
I hope they showed alot of 92, when Dana Carvey did both HW and Perot, with Hartman as Clinton. Those were brilliant.
The montage they showed had some classic stuff in it, like ¨stragery¨and ¨lockbox¨. I have to say though that I think the Bush-Palin-McCain sketch is a fantastic one. Ãt was pitch perfect, Bush trying to endorse McCain to McCain´s incredible chagrin.
LATEST EPISODE Paul Rudd/Beyonce Airs: Saturday November 15, 2008 "This is the eighth broadcast of the 34th season of SNL. Information is subject to change."
I didn't see the whole thing, but that husband & wife folksinger sketch with Rudd was pure gold. I was rolling by the time that one was over.
Some interesting stuff last night. But the lack of Tina Fey Palin made me sad. Also nothing from President-elect Obama. Just a Biden sketch.
LAST EPISODE John Malkovich/T.I. Airs: Saturday December 6, 2008 "This is the 10th episode of the 34th season. Information is subject to change."
LATEST EPISODE Hugh Laurie/Kanye West Airs: Saturday December 13, 2008 This is the 11th live broadcast of the 34th season of SNL. Information is subject to change.
