Lit Books LOTF - First Time Read Thread - No spoilers post-Invincible

Lowie, disappears and does nothing (despite you know being Jaina's close friend and wingmate).
Tenel Ka, Queen Mother of Hapes and well...boring.
Alema Rar, turned to the dark side and went mad.
Tesar, disappears and does nothing as well.

 

It's been almost a decade since I read those books, so... no comment. That's how I felt at the time. *shrugs*

 

Am I the only one who ships Jacen/Alema...if Tenel Ka or Danni weren’t options.

Anyways, Tenel Ka doesn’t do much of anything post LOTF because...she’s got a government to run and Allana is with her grandparents.

Alema dies in the second half of LOTF.

Lowbacca and Tesar are both quaternary characters and were never developed beyond that.

I wish they did more with Cilghal and the Solusars.

 

I though Cilghal was going to be a big character in fotJ.

 

Maybe it is time to take "No spoilers post-Invincible" out of the thread title?

 

We should make an all purpose Denningverse or post NJO series discussion thread.

Denning killed Lusa and Lyric offscreen
And he obviously killed Anakin
Apart from SbS, I don't remember any other NJO books that killed so many members of the next generation

 

The Solusars were so underused

Then Tionne just get torn up in inferno. It is disgusting.

Kam was also linked to the Old Jedi Order and he escaped the purge
There was quite a bit of potential there

 

They adopted Tahiri in my headcanon

 

shame, could have been a new character or two. But that goes aginst the Denningverse ideas 'new is bad'.

 

Weird thing-the denningverse really doesn’t spend as much time on the non Skysolo Jedi as even the NJO and Bantam did. Raynar is literally in the basement until late FOTJ, and then a bunch of young Jedi go crazy and get put in carbonite.

Maybe they just really lacked imagination or they were super lazy when it came to developing characters and plots.

 

Yeah and killed Lusa offscreen, had her quasi boyfriend Raynar make out with another girl who was also killed in this book without doing anything substancial. And then put Raynar himself a on a very long bus trip he only really fully returned from in FotJ(in that only then he was a Jedi again who could go out on missions and stuff).

So in a sense Denning killed/removed like a third of the YJK/JJK characters in one book.

Will say as someone who really became a SW fan via YJK their deaths hit me far more than Chewies.

 

Jedi around Jaina and Jacen's generation we know of: Jacen Solo, Jaina Solo, Anakin Solo, Tenel Ka Djo, Lowbacca, Zekk, Tesar Sebatyne, Bela and Krasov Hara, Jovan Drark, Eryl Besa, Raynar Thul, Sannah, Lyric, Valin and Jysella Horn, Lusa, Ulaha Kore, Alema and Numa Rar...

 

Second and third generation were practically the same since there was little to no differences in terms of deaths and increasing irrelevance.
