Luminara Unduli death scene

I suppose her death was cut because, with the exception of Kashyyyk and Utapau, there was one major Jedi death per montage sequence. Obi-Wan and Yoda's escape is the beginning of the new hope, an establishment of the Original Trilogy. To add a death to a sequence where the focus is escaping alive, even the death of a minor Jedi, would distract from that goal and purpose.

 

Sounds like a reasonable and realistic reason and its a good point, but it would have been nice to see the other Jedi die anyway as long as the sequence wasn't made overly long or repetitive.

 

Which is why it wasn't done as it would most likely be drawn-out and repetitive.

 

And being drawn out and repetitive is what the EU is for.

 

gree only told one barc trooper the order, and both of them got killed, so gree didnt tell the others and Luminara escaped and hid in the dark bushes with some help from the wookies.

Yea, but seeing it on screen is soooo sweet.

 

I think she'll return in the EU and fight the empire but get killed by vader. her looks and clothes are perfect for camaflage in the dark and in a rainforest like kashyyyk, plus as I said, only Gree and a Barc trooper got the order, but got killed by yoda, and it reveals in the episode 3 charactors book that she gets lost while aayla and barriss get killed.

 

If Vos could suvive the attack, so could Luminara Unduli since it's revealed in the book about the charactors that she get's lost.

 

I thought Luminara died because she was conversing with some camo clones. Then they surrounded her and revealed their hidden pistols and shot her. Is this true?

 

that's been shown in the comic which was done before the film was complete, and GL changed alot of the story when the comic was finished, so alot of the comic story doesn't fit, like Unduli's death scene, cause she could have hidden in the dark shadows of kashyyyk even in those clothes.that's why we saw clones on at-rt walkers searching for.

 

For all the EU fans, as was posted earlier Lucas "never got around to shooting Vos." But he survived, badly injured albeit. They are setting up the story of Mara Jade. Vos is her father. Darkhorse will be running with the story this fall. Quinlan has to make a choice, stay on Kashyyk to fight, or run and risk endangering the ones he loves. Khaleen was pregnant, and Vos swore to leave the Jedi Order when the Clone Wars came to an end.

Funny how Vos was moving his troops to Boss Pity, and died the next day on Kashyyk...

No she was supposed to be talking to a fellow Clone trooper where many more walked towards her and surrounded her. She wondered what was happening when they revealed their small Blaster pistols and shot her to oblivion.

No, it was Art Department Supervisor Fay David (most definitely a woman) playing Luminara for her one shot in ROTS.

You're talking about Aayla Secura. Y'know the blue alien with the boobs. And the planet with the Dr. Seuss plants that are taller than you is called Felucia.

 

She was just shot down like Aalya!

Ki-Adi had major roles in I and II, so deserved a visable death, Plo Koon was more or less a 'fan fave' to die..and Shaak Ti had the bonus to die sharing a scene with Obi-Wan, Anakin and Grievous.



No real need to see Luminara bite the CGI dust IMO.
