guys the trevorrow script is actually interesting and not an incredibly stupid, plagiarized bastardization / remix of ESB and ROTJ and i'm sad i was relieved when he was ousted.

There's some not great stuff here and there but overall I think it's really solid, and with a few more drafts could have been a great tie-up for both this trilogy and the Skywalker Saga

 

at least it tries to develop a storyline explaining how they brought the galaxy together to fight Palps. JJ just waved his hand and said : oh it just happened off-screen while you weren't looking.

 

People don't care for Leia or Luke

but Lando? People will give over their lives for that guy!

But that was always the plan: one movie to each OT character; Ep7 to Han; Ep. 8 to Luke; and Ep9 to Leia.
But when Carrie Fischer died late in 2016 ( a full year before the release of TLJ) Lucasfilm should know they would not be able to keep this plan/concept.
They ( Kathleen Kennedy ?) were just too stuborn and stuck to a concept that could not endure or end well.
And as result, some poor woman had to have sex with deformed Palpatine

 

If they killed Leia off between movies, or just didn't have her mentioned in the film at all, then everyone would have been yelling about Lucasfilm/Kathleen Kennedy disrespecting the memory of Carrie Fisher.

It was a no win situation for them.

Also, I'm not sure how keeping Leia around is what led to Palpatine getting his groove on.

 

How do you know that? Did you have a surveillance camera active?
How do you know he didn't just manipulate the midi-chlorians to create life? Or even that he was using artificial insemination to "spread his seed"?
