Boy stuff must have hit the fan if Yoda aged THAT much in under 200 years. He looks more like he should be 300 tops there.

He also looks a lot more human here; definitely looks like a make up concept from somewheres.

Yeah, as if I know how his species ages.

 

Regarding their look and this being the "High" Republic era, I don't know, it just sounds pompous to me and they look like they are putting on airs. It was decided in the writers room that they wanted to see the Jedi at their height, but what we're being force fed right now in TCW cartoon is that the Jedi have lost sight of the interests of the common people.

We've been told over and over again that the Jedi are "keepers of the peace" while being these monk like characters devoted to the Force, in service to its will (Whill?). So what's exciting about that? Nothing. No one wants to see the Jedi among the common people resolving petty disputes and making friends. Like that would be nice from time to time, in service to a larger narrative, but getting that theme, in a entire book or a 22 page comic, would be super boring.

So supposedly the first book it going to kick off this new age with an event called "The Great Disaster". This event is going to ripple through all the medium as the Republic is kind of in its infancy. So the story we're getting is that the Jedi are more like cowboys, venturing out into unknown/uncharted space, expanding the Republic and facing issues as they do that. So while this may be the "golden" age of prosperity for the Republic from a government standpoint and the Jedi that protect it, how does that make its citizens feel? Do they share this manifest destiny? At this point in time, I don't.

Someone is reading Collin Trevorrow's script and posting it on Youtube. I have no idea if this is actually real, but regardless, it sounds way better than what we got.

 

@Yoda's_Roomate Trevorrow's script leaked months ago and he confirmed it was his script on twitter. Some art from the now released "The Art of The Rise of Skywalker" confirms some of his original ideas as well. Some of the art from the art book leaked early as well. (Side note: They removed a lot of Palpatine concept art from the book out of fear it would leak early so that book as well as the Visual Dictionary are incomplete on purpose which is garbage IMO.)

just watched the first 4 eps of the new clone wars , the story about the Bad Batch , it was quite good* really , are these guys sorta mimicking the squad from Predator?

The first four were fun-ish. The second four were pointless. Hopefully the last four will be good - Maul, Mandos, and other M words.

its not a bad idea : the "bad batch" are basically a bunch of clones that weren't cooked right , so they've all got some quirk , so they got together and formed their own crew , so imagine any number of films where there's a bunch of misfits who form a merc group .

 

And the characters in any one of those generic films would have more originality than the whole bad batch put together.
