Increased ticket prices, shifts in key demographics, and the explosion of high quality home media formats. What's easier - getting a 20-something single or couple to go watch Mad Max when they can wait it out for Netflix or getting whiny seven year olds to convince their parents to take them to see The Avengers because it's got a robot and they have to watch it now?

I believe he also married the actress who played the red haired breeder. One granddaughter of Elvis Presley.

Edit: ahh, it was a stuntman she married, not the guitar player.

The Aqua-cola was funny because I've been drinking canned carbonated Dasani sparkling water lately. No it doesn't taste good.
I'm tempted to see this again this weekend to help it out. Yep, my $7 or whatever it is will represent a few million.
I don't get the people who went to see this movie after watching trailers featuring clips from throughout the movie, and without being familiar with Mad Max movies, only to come away and post stuff like "I don't get it." The fact is Mad Max isn't and can't be mainstream and a new heavily hyped movie isn't going to phase many of them. It's a franchise the couple of generations of people born after the prime early '80s time of HBO don't even know by name. I'm glad George Miller was able to do this and keep it unflinchingly genuine without the studio just doing a cold generic modern revival of it.

Great movie. Strangely enough one of the most tastefully shot movies I've seen, at least in terms of violence. It never felt gratuitous or there for shock value.

Some people had told me that this film moved away from the usual "lone ranger" Mad Max story, but after seeing it I'm not sure that was the case, even if it was less obvious. You've got the Valhalla-crazy nuts on the one side and the "Green Land" gals on the other. Both have put all their hope into some sort of mythical "promised land" that they don't know exists. So when MM says...
"your only hope is back where you started" (or something to that effect), he's doing exactly what the lone ranger-type character does. It's the old story of the townspeople wanting to leave because hooligans have taken over and they think they might have a better shot elsewhere, until the outsider comes in and convinces them to fight for what's theirs. What's cool is Fury Road was able to take that old story and spin it in such a zany way that it wasn't immediately obvious.

I have heard a lot of complaints from younger viewers who never saw Mad Max and were not born when they came out. They just don't get it. Kinda sad really.

It was okay. I did find myself checking my watch from about an hour in.

    Harry's accent was dodgy as.

    Another review...

    http://www.offthetracks.co.nz/mad-max-fury-road-film/

"Filmed almost entirely in the main streets of Hastings, Mad Max: Fury Road is one of the better climate change documentaries you might see. It features Sinead O’Connor playing the role of Sigourney Weaver in flashback and Tom Hardy shares the driving down the The Road (They Should Have) Not Taken..."

I haven't had time to read many reviews so this has probably been pointed out but the war boy who ends up w the crew seems a comment on young jihadists, particularly the type that are so much in the news now flocking to ISIS. He starts as a full on fanatic whose ultimate goal is to die for the cause but comes to recapture his humanity once he's pulled away from the cult, falls in love, etc.

The good: All the action was unbelievable, awesome, amazing - the best parts of 'The Road Warrior' on steroids.
That main action music (also in the trailer) was amazing.
    The cinematography.

The bad: The script, most of the actors - including Hardy, the dialogue.

The road warrior still stands as my favourite with this a close second.
