I’d rather move the hell past the whole operation cinder/Jakku timeline. Took up 5 years of Star Wars tie in literature.

 

A series set during Operation Cinder has a lot of promise... and I'm intrigued by this (emphasis is mine):

They already did Luke, so maybe Leia, Han, Lando and Wedge.

And maybe Donald glover and Alden Will come back as lando and Han.

If you listen to the interview, he is talking about the general era of The Mandalorian and spin-offs as being "right after" ROTJ. It still sounds to me more likely Rangers will be concurrent with The Mandalorian than taking place in the first year after ROTJ.

Given how cagey Filoni has been on when the epilogue to Rebels takes place in relation to The Mandalorian, I wonder if the two X-Wing pilots accompanying Ahsoka to Lothal are now meant to be Carson Teva and Trapper Wolf. Leave it to Filoni to want to escort Ahsoka to her next journey in person. Maybe they'll meet up in the Ahsoka/Rangers of the Republic crossover.

Well since there is no real Rangers of the New Republic thread (I think) i've been wondering...I wonder who the Villain of the series is gonna be? Since Thrawn is probably gonna be the one for Ashoka and we have Gideon for Mandalorian ....whose Range's distinct villain, another Imperial Warlord, Crimelords? Something new maybe?

 

It seems that Benedict turned down the role for Thrawn when asked, so it seems most likley for Lars to play Thrawn.

 

He didn't turn anything down; he's not been approached to play Thrawn. Collider's just asking if he'd be interested based on fan castings.

 

He says he dosen't to be turned blue and dosen't want the role soo, also he soo miscast as Thrawn just because of the sherlock holmes thing.

 

Lars is the only acceptable Thrawn casting.

 

I'm clarifying; you said he turned the role down "when asked"; it was only Collider asking based on fan castings, not any official offer from Lucasfilm. He's not turned an actual offer down.

 

Never liked the Cumberbatch casting idea.
