This is a bit of a silly post, but maybe he was dabbling in voice acting during his hiding out days.

Not the biggest fan of the way Luke was handled. The guy only had 1 movie where he was a total badass Jedi and 30 years later he gets 30 seconds of silent standing. Can't wait for ep 8 to change that.

 

After re-watching the movie several times, is it odd that Luke doesn't notice Rey's presence until she's almost on top of the hill he's at? If he is as powerful as he's suppose to be you would think he would have sensed her presence there as soon as she landed, with Chewie also. His reaction was clear that he didn't know she was there until she was in his eyesight. Palpatine sensed Luke from the death star on Endor.

 

I think he does sense her. Don't see any evidence of him being caught unawares. Or that he's deaf and didn't hear the roar of the Falcon approaching that modest little island.

And the last part of your post is simply wrong. Vader sensed him. The Emperor did not.

I think there's already a thread for things to do with Luke and what Luke does and doesn't do. I wouldn't be surprised of this gets moved there.

 

I think Luke knew about Rey for a while, because when you see the look on his face, I think it's safe to say that it looked like he was almost upset that she found him almost like because he feels like he has caused enough destruction in the galaxy. Thoughts?

 

Yeah, I have to agree.

I might go so far as to entertain that Luke was perhaps surprised at who he was seeing (Maybe. I'm not even convinced of that). But no, never once did I feet Skywalker was sneaked up upon by ninja Rey.

Fair play to different interpretations, of course, but I'm simply not seeing it.

 

Trebor Sabreon: I got the impression that Luke felt that there was someone behind him but I am not sure if he knew who it was. He probably didn't feel threatened since I guess that he would have reacted in a more defensive way then.

 

I hope he gets to actually do stuff in episode 8 as well. It seems pretty foolish to buy the rights to Star Wars only to then play all the rookies while leaving the all star on the bench. Hopefully they have a solid plan for what is to come for Luke.

 

I guess I liked the fact that Skywalker only appeared in the Force Awakens in the last few moments in the film.

 

I think Luke's expression is entirely indecipherable.

 

I think he will do a solid job and the production will really help him do that.

It never bugged me that Luke was not really in the film. Especially knowing he'll be in EVIII alot presumably.

 

I'll bet he'll be all well and good. And he'll probably train Rey. (I hope)

 

Why would he train Rey? She's already perfect in everything.

 

He's either gone into voice acting or has evolved into a Jedi Time-Lord.

 

I'm not trolling, but yeah, i might have overdid it a little.

 

Will Luke still have his X-Wing I wonder? I guess not if R2-D2 wasn't with him...
