So it'll be interesting how much they stretch out Solo #6 cuz from the description it looks like it's when they land on the planet after they nicked the coaxium and before they meet up with Vos again and that's like, what, 10 minutes of movie, max?

I’m hoping for some extra Maul scenes in the final issue.

Well, that would be nice, but... more realistically, we might get the coaxium handoff between Saw and Enfys. That's already in the novelization, so could be considered part of the "established story."

It's really strange to me that of the four Disney movies, Solo is the only one getting the extra-length comic adaptation.

Sorry if this has been covered before, but has there been an announcement for a omnibus of Soule’s Vader or at least larger trades?

All of these sound really good. So in Star Wars they're going to Shu-torun. I looked up that planet and it happens to be in the mid rim. Maybe that's what Leia, Luke, and Han were doing during the mid rim campaign. I feel like that's a way to tie the book to Battlefront. The current arc could end with them arriving at Hoth planning an attack on Shu-torun. Mon Mothma authorizes it as part of the campaign to take the mid rim in an attempt to regain momentum after their recent defeat. Also, it connects the wider view of what we know about the GCW and the conflict with Queen Trios that has ran through Gillen's run.

I know the mid rim camocamp is something I mention pretty frequently. It's just I loved Battlefront and I love this comic. While I believe they're completely compatible, I'd like to see the events of the book in the coming to enhance the conmectivity.

More often than not, buying the OHCs is cheaper than the later Omnibus volume - easier to read too.

This issue came out today and...
...I want to admit that I was wrong about this! Despite all of the Canto Casino designs used in the cover art, the setting is actually aboard a Pantolomin pleasure cruiser, and I didn't spot any of those designs in the interior art. That's absolutely what I deserve for taking a comic book cover at face value. I should know better by now. :p

Remember how in the early issues of the Star Wars comic (And Vader comic) Boba had a big role and the Obi-Wan diaries were a thing, and then they stopped...Now, this a big stretch but I kinda think when they stopped that was our first big signs of perhaps the Kenobi and Boba film weren't gonna happen. Again, a stretch but I like my conspiracy theories dang it ;p

Hey, who doesn't like a good conspiracy theory? :p Regarding the Boba Fett movie, I actually thought the opposite - the conspicuous lack of Fett in new canon (outside of his early appearances in the initial arcs of Vader and the flagship series) was an indicator that a Fett movie might have been in the works - perhaps he was being kept out of the way to ensure maximum flexibility for the filmmakers? Now that any hypothetical Fett movie project that might have been in the works has been cancelled, I wonder if we'll see our favorite unaltered clone return to the canvas.

As far as the Obi-Wan diary goes, it's disappearance coincided more or less with Gillen taking over the series so I figure he either wasn't a fan of the conceit or just hasn't had any Obi-Wan stories to tell. The character still continues to be prominently featured in other stories, so they're not gun-shy about using him. And as far as we know Luke still has the diary, right? Maybe Gillen will have some cool Obi-Wan-on-Tatooine stories for us in the future.

I think Marvel came out of the gate swinging with Boba Fett and Vader to move books (and it did!) but LFL probably told them to hold back on Fett due to the movie. And now Fett isn't around as much because the Rebellion era books are pre-Bespin and they don't want our heroes interacting with Fett before Empire. Luke did it but they freakin' blinded him.

Obi-Wan diaries I think was a Jason Aaron thing although I do wish Gillen would pick it back up.

See the way i saw it, the various things the comics (And books) were doing were indicators of things they announced (Or would announce ;p) remember Boba was OFFICAL until Trank got fired.

So Boba in the comics- Boba Fett Film

The OT Characters/ Vader stuff- Connect with the ST’s sorts meta-commentary about the OT and the Nostalgia of Force Awakens in general and Kylo being Vader fan boy.

Kenobi stuff- Kenobi movie coming our way.

Then Rogue One got bumped up ahead and Trank got fired and so things probably changed.

Oh and lots of Han Solo centric stuff because we were getting a Han Solo movie.

I'm not sure. I half expect they'll give the comic to another author. Gillen just said he's leaving and that makes sense since the conflict with Queen Trios was his plotline through his whole run. I feel like he'd say the book was ending rather than just his story. But this could be me hoping since I'm not ready for Hoth

arrggghh, Gillen and Soule are my favourite Marvel Star Wars writers and they're both gone Ah well, I know Gillen is going to go out probably bringing in Darth Vader and maybe a return for Aphra as well.

I think with Star Wars done for him, Gillen isn't writing anything else for Marvel anymore, he went all creator-owned books I believe.

Oh, well, that's a surprise but sounds like it'll be a cohesive run.

The bigger problem to me is who takes over out of Marvel's current lot. Given how she's done so far - and her work elsewhere - I'm hoping it'll be either Houser or Thompson.

Houser will be free by the time Gillen's run ends, so could easily take over. She has done really great character work. I'd love for her to write a longer run.
