Lit Comics Marvel Star Wars: General News & Trades Discussion Thread

My guess is Kanan will be the farthest back the comics will go. If we get a Clone Wars series I might scream (although I wouldn't mind seeing other planned arcs being released as miniseries', similar to Son of Dathomir). I'd anticipate another OT era one - Lando would be so cool - and an ST era one.

If we do get a prequel one, I'd be much happier with a pre-Episode I (say, Dooku and Yoda or Dooku and Qui-Gon) or something between Episode I and II than an ongoing Clone Wars series.

 

So agreed I miss that show.

 

I'm glad we have Rebels now, but it'd be nice to see a few of the loose ends get wrapped up. I especially want to see a bit of Ahsoka (which I think is likely) and the Battle of Coruscant.

 

I would like to see Rex get his own comic.

 

So Marvel is known for doing Motion Comic DVD/BluRay releases, where comic series are given some, well, motion, visual flare, and voice actors. Wouldn't surprise me if that might be the future of some Clone Wars Legacy titles. Marvel Comics release, with a dvd/blu-ray with TCW voice actors to be able to 'watch'? Better that than nothing . . .

 

Did they really do so many of those? Had thought it was a passing fad. Fairly expensive to create too.

 

Yeah, I haven't heard of a Marvel motion comic in a long time.

There might have been one later, but Extremis started off as your standard comic - albeit one with stunning art by Granov!

 

Extremis is great, haven't watched the motion comic though.

Depends on what you mean by the same!

If you mean, are they the same format, that they collect the comics in the same way as DHC did? Then yes.

If you mean, are they collecting and re-packaging material originally produced by DHC? Then no, those are the various Epic collections announced so far.

Meanwhile, Marvel Comics will put out one prequel called Star Wars: Journey to the Force Awakens and another preview story told from C-3PO’s perspective.

Pretty easy to assume Marvel was gonna do a prequel comic anyway, they do it for their own movies. Hell, they've done it for their superhero movies of franchises (X-Men and Amazing Spider-Man) that they don't own!

You're counting ads in that 32 page figure, story length tends to be around the 20-22 page mark.

If you're trying to estimate issues: TPB ratio accurately, you need to go by story count.

Wouldn't put it past Marvel to do a big first issue or even series of, but it'd be unusual.

Doubt it, he's busy with Rocket Raccoon and Death To Fairyland. The former is gloriously bonkers and the latter looks like it will be!

Probably, yes. Marvel's movie adaptation record is spotty but it does happen, and Lucasfilm sure as hell does them. And Marvel's first Star Wars comic was an adaptation of the original film. So, yes, likely.
