I suppose that is possible. There are different runs of Dr Aphra and Darth Vader for different eras.

I am certainly interested to see the comics in general handle the last year of the war between Endor and Jakku, and the uneasy peace that fell upon the galaxy after that.

Bounty hunters would be especially fun since there have been hints that things get really turbulent in the underworld at that time and bounty hunters would have a front row seat.

Guess we will have to wait and see.

Glad to hear it's ending. I can finally put all it's issues away in a box because I have been waiting for it to end to catch up (I found with that series if it was weeks in-between reading issues I forgot pretty much everything that happened in the previous issues). Think I have about twenty plus issues to catch up on with that series.

Will be interesting to see what they come up with to replace it. I imagine they aren't too far off from kicking off the post RotJ era so good chance it will be something in that time period.

Course I wouldn't mind at all them surprising us all and announcing an Old Republic series. But they would likely wait until High Republic is done to do anything like that.

This series lasted longer than I thought it would. I too tended to fall behind and forget what was going on in this series (which admittedly was on the bottom of my to read pile every month) but I always appreciated the unique look of the artwork.

Well, the betrayal was decent, too bad Halcyon Legacy had a spoiler about the team's fate for some time ago.

Well a nice little denouement for this series, with a great sign-off letter from Sacks. At least he's sticking around for a while with Jango Fett, but hopefully we'll see more of Valance down the line.

Just read the last issue and I loved it. This series had ups and downs early on but the second half was consistently great in my opinion. Sacks did a great job wrapping up various plot threads and giving satisfying conclusions for all the main characters. I also loved the way this connects with Return of the Jedi, it was a pretty creative idea that makes perfect sense in hindsight.

After finishing the series, I can say with certainly that I will purchase an omnibus of this series if Marvel produces one. I initially struggled to keep track of all the new characters reading just one issue a month, so I think I will enjoy a re-read much more now that I know all the characters and don't have to wait for each issue.

Decent ending, with yet another wholesome moment with Durge.
Kinda funny, with all the visual references to TBoBF in the second part of this series, that Boba here is not only an over-the-top badass (seemingly deliberately in contrast to the live-action show), but also an over-the-stop schemer. Not that I mind.

Bib caring about the rancor's health was heartwarming, and Manaroo's "warned ya" was priceless.

Cadeliah becoming a rich sponsor thank to Auntie Qi'ra's money is nice, Vukorah surviving is not. In general the prolonged storyline with two syndicates' conflict ending with them being eliminated separately was rather anticlimactic.

Anyway general thought not really spoilery

I have been slowing down to 1 or 2 issues a day to prepare for midterms. Anyway. The bounty hunters series ended very disappointingly for me. It felt very rushed. Like I think if this had another arc it would have ended much better.

honestly there are far to many crossovers here. Three seperate crossover events is far too many. I don’t know why marvel thought Dark Droids was a good idea. It’s just to much and it takes away from the individual stories themselves.

Valance is still one of my new favorite characters, but I think he’s gone down a bit in my estimation. He’s below Aphra I would say.

the one positive and consistently great thing throughout this series? 4LOM and Zuckuss’s friendship. It was a joy to read.

so yea while Crimson reign and WOTBH are great. Dark droids is definitely the worst crossover event of the new canon.

while for both Aphra and Bounty Hunters it says the end for now I get the sneaking suspicion that bounty hunters won’t get a sequel.

IMO if it does the way you make it a better story is trim some of the fat. A lot of it.

basically refocus on Valence as the story overall started to fall apart the more valance was absent. Have Tonga as a supporting character, but that’s it.

so what started as one of my favorite comic runs ended up my least liked out of all the multi arc stories.

IMO this shows the importance of sticking the landing. And while I didn’t mind dark droids in Aphra BH proves that the crossover was a mistake.

so please marvel I am begging you no more crossovers. You get one per run and that is it. This whole ESB-ROTJ era is made way to complicated due to these crossovers.

your telling me that Crimson Dawn returned then was destroyed. Boba was on the run for weeks trying to find Han and a mad droid was trying to take over the galaxy all in the span of like 6 months? Not believable.

I am getting increasing tired of the OT era. Cannot wait to be done with it. Why it doesn’t interest me as much as the sequels or the prequel era I don’t know. But I do hope whatever their next ongoing series’s are to replace BH and Aphra I hope they are set not in the OT or its immediate aftermath.

you know why I think I have grown tired of the OT? Cause there have been like 400 issues around that time period and only like a couple dozen around the PT and ST. Each issue takes about 10 minutes to read which puts that at 4,000 minutes which is a long ass time. That’s the downside of binge reading.

like even if you add TCW and Tales of the Jedi. I think the OT period still has more time covered in minutes of coverage if we assume 10 minute average for each issue.

TLDR the story starts to fall apart after Crimson reign. If this gets a sequel series it needs to refocus on Valance. Hell title it Valance. It should not be an equal opportunity protagonist. Valance should be the protagonist in every issue. The meandering didn’t help.

Yeah, as much as I liked the series, I think my biggest complaint would be how much the various crossovers got in the way of the protagonists actually doing much bounty hunting.

Interesting that Valance love seems to be so common here. Personally I wasn't overly fond of him and preferred Tonga's crew. And I would be down for the bounty hunter dream team that got put together near the end of the series and apparently has been successful off screen.
