If I read another complaint about a show being underlit I’m gonna start a new country where it’s illegal to complain about shows being underlit.
There is no footnote. Also couldn't really see much going on in the trailer other than hair highlights? Need a more story-oriented trailer, this one has left me whelmed instead of overwhelmed.

That’s been my hope, albeit a dim hope, since the MCU could absolutely make it a tone-setting joke instead... but strictly because I made the mistake of hypothesizing that “Dark Avengers” would be a good subtitle and late-film shocker for the film, with the Contessa revealing the Thunderbolts are just patsies for any even more cynical move on her part with a full on state-run Avengers team. That ain’t happening now, clearly. It’s probably just a clever “Okay, pencil in these losers instead of the Avengers” joke. I like Taskmaster’s new costume, but I still hope that Olga Kurylenko gets some scenes, since she can genuinely act.
I'm enjoying how we're all speculating over what the footnote is. There is no footnote. Someone within the creative process there thought it would be creative/clever/make it different from the other MCU movies by having the asterisk in the title. And they were able to convince the powers that be to include it. That's it.
Feige confirmed that there is indeed a footnote but that it’ll only be revealed in the movie itself, and won’t be part of any of the marketing.
Or "Secret Avengers" (even though Steve's post-Civil War team was basically that, but we never really saw them in action), as that would hint/connect with "Secret Wars" in some manner. But I agree that they'll likely just get renamed the "Dark Avengers" ("dark" meaning "shadow ops" or "black ops", etc). I don't think there's any other team variant name that would fit (ie: "West Coast", "Great Lakes", "Uncanny", etc). Especially because it seems like they're in Avengers Tower in Val's scenes (which would fit in with Sentry's presence).
The reveal will probably be at the end credits, kinda how in the finale of The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, it changed to Captain America & the Winter Soldier at the end.
Um...you may want to watch Captain America Brave New World again instead, Sarge. I'd change your request to Bucky make U.S. Agent cry please. I'm in. I don't know much about Sentry Spoiler (beyond his psychological issues and ah, he apparently has mind control abilities so that take as you will.)
I really enjoyed the trailer... I may be in the minority based on some of what I am seeing online, but I think Yelena is great, I love both Walker (US Agent?) and Winter Soldier, and I think Red Guardian is very entertaining. And on top of that, I thought Ghost was a really interesting mostly-villain in ANTMAN 2. I like the tone of the trailer - yes, there is humor, but I still feel a serious undercurrent that I appreciate. A little surprised, but the trailer impressed me... looking forward to this!
I saw it pointed out that Bob has 6 fingers on his hand in the poster. He does not in the trailer. Art department goof. Don't these things have approval process?
