Now - DO NOT think I am saying not to bring these up., I, for one, am very willing to help you where I can. I had a ****** time when I was in a situation similar to yours and I don't think anyone should go through the **** I did, plus - you're a friend so of course I , we, will help.
But , when we try and help you and you , metaphoricly, throw that help back in our face, then accuse US of being the 'baddies' people get annoyed.
J, I'm your friend. I like you a lot. That being said I am rather annoyed with you at the moment.
But well, that's what happens with friends.

Who's not got problems? That is precisely why we need this meetup to go ahead. Then we can all get away from them for a while and enjoy ourselves in Scotland's 2nd city.

somebody else can organise it. like when you meet up with normally and one person can't/doesn't want to meet up. Just a thought.

 

I'll happily do any local set-up needed for a Glasgow get together, so long as a few people can agree on a suitable weekend and maximum B+B cost....

my PM in-tray is always open............ but I'll stress from the outset that any event I'm involved in organising will not be governed by any of the new lines of demarcation ....

both versions of FF-UK should and would be invited.

Saturday September 28th, Glasgow, a gathering of any memebers of our wee internet community who can make it: - all welcome, Scottish, English, Scottish people living in England, Greek people, Aberdonians etc

To date, I think, we have firm promises of attendance from Toochilled, Padawan SDM, Clone-Warrior,Obi-one-and-only and myself...

there may also be several chaps and chapesses currently posting on the independent FF-UK board who will want to attend - GAV, MOT and MOTs MINX in particular - and we'll have to speak to them to see what they are thinking.....

the plan: get to Glasgow for early afternoon, see some sights, hit the pub , go for a curry, go back to the pub, go to a niteclub if we can still stand, retire to our various B+Bs, pals hooses etc etc.

Drawing a polite veil over the last page of posts, I must now ask that this thread be dedicated solely to the achievement of friendly face-to-face drunkeness on Sept 28

Seriously, I've been continuing to use this date as its the one that most people have already agreed to.... unfortunately, it disn'y suit Minxy, which is a great pity, but were we to re-open the date debate now, I suspect we'd still be talking about it come Christmas.
However, if we can make this one happen successfully (ie: we all get pissed, enjoy ourselves and no-one actually falls in the Clyde / is seriously injured in a kebab shop misunderstanding)I'm sure it will be the precursor to many more meet-up opporchancities...
