FF:SA Messages For Dark Lord Alf

Hi everyone,

Some of you are aware that DLA was admitted to hospital on Friday after vomiting blood. He is currently in the ICU after an examination found swollen blood vessels in his gullet, one of which had burst. He'll be in hospital for a week at this stage while they treat the swelling.

SAFF members please use this thread for messages for DLA, and I'm sure Guri will keep us posted when she is able to.

I'm really glad that we were able to see you last night Stevie,I didn't know if the staff would allow visitors.You had/have us all extremely worried. Our thoughts & best wishes go out to you for a speedy, healthy & happy recovery very very soon.

 

Steve thanks you all very much for all your support, as do I, everyone has just been so incredible, news as some of you know as of yesterday, the cause of his swelling veins is due to scarring on his liver which is causing a back flow of blood into his system, and as the blood is pushing backwards its putting pressure on his other veins and organs, his spleen is currently enlarged due to this and as the veins in his gullet are thin this is why one burst, but the rubber bands they have inserted are working, and they have him on a drip of goodies to lower his blood pressure, to slow it down and allow the liver to cope with the blood going through, his hemoglobin yesterday was back up in the 90's, they would like to see it at 100 before they move him to a ward, which hopefully will be today, and he will be all good for smily faced visitors

MissMeanders, MrsMeanders and I popped in to see the Alf tonight. He's looking pretty chipper and waiting for all the doctors to get back from their Easter break to tell him what's going on.

What is the lowdown on the the DLA?

 

I believe he is still enjoying his hospital stay as a few more tests get run.

 

Saw DLA again this evening. Still in hospital and at this rate I was expecting to see Hugh Laurie stick his head in the door. But the Alf is looking more like himself which was good to see.

Hope you're out of there soon.

 

Well House didn't make a visit to DLA, but Dr. Toddi dropped in last night to check out the patient and give the nurses a once over ... err I mean, to check out the nurses and give the patient a once over.

DLA appears to be in good spirits and hopefully they're closer to finding out what's been causing all the commotion. Guri is handling things brilliantly.

Howdy All

DLA here in DLA's clothing !

I have been released from the Detention Block and now am bak home. I still have to return for yet another Liver Biopsy just to confirm that it is Wilson's Disease that i have. Wilson's Disease is condition where there is too much copper build up in my blood system and it won't go away without Medication and a proper Copper-Free diet.

This restricts me from eating alot of things but can still enjoy alot of other things. Just not Chocolate

I am doing well and Guri can now return to work.

I thank everyone for their well wishes and visits in Hospital. Wasn't the best 19 days i have spent but i needed to be there.
