I still think the Dells are cool. It's campy, and it doesn't hide it. It's pretty much the same as it was in the 60s and 70s, and I think that's kind of cool, even though a lot of the "entertainment" is horrendously outdated. It depends what you're looking for, I guess. Mo and I usually go early in June before it's kid central. It's all about waterparks, mini golf, and Paul Bunyan's. It's a fun 2 to 3-day place for us. Any longer than that, and i'd go stir crazy.

Off-season is a good idea.

I think you are right, the Dells is only good for a weekend adventure. We went to Mt. Olympus and I must say the Hades roller coaster kicked butt. I never knew a wooden rollercoaster could go that fast. The go carts were fun, but sad when your 15 year old (taking drivers ed) can out drive you.

 

I have lived in Wisconsin for 18 years and I have never gone to Wisconsin Dells. I have been to Door County once and I was 14 to 15 years old at the time (about 15 years ago-scary!).

 

Feel free to complain when 15 is more like 25 years ago, Laura. Then it's scary.
